  1. happy birthday! on a side note, i will have to order that book!
  2. Good movie. The wife read the book prior to the movie. To be honest, this was very graphic. Good movie but don't waste your money on popcorn.
  3. 10 years ago--i was a in high school. It was right after 9/11 and guns=devil. I loved shooting in the boy scouts. I lost contact with it until i went to ETSU. I attended the marksmanship with Aaron Henely and feel in love with shooting again. I took my HCP class at ETSU and i have carried a gun from that time on. I cannot say enough for Aaron and the principles he teaches. I suggest his class to EVERYONE that i know attending ETSU.
  4. I am looking forward to Justified tomorrow night. I like FX but the time between seasons is borderline ridiculous.
  5. PM sent..........
  6. very nice!! Are you going to carry it with that holster? I'm curious of the cover garment (assuming you CC)
  7. Same here--sorry for your loss
  8. Thanks for the review!! I'm glad you were happy with Jeff and the services provided. I will follow up with you this week to discuss the project. Thanks again for your business!
  9. opps....looks like my benefactor status "expired" so that maxed out my storage. Try it again when you get a chance
  10. if you need it---you may not notice the recoil. (this is the story i read on the interwebs.....i can neither confirm or deny)
  11. Looks Great---enjoy!
  12. I vote for the Smith & Wesson M&Pc also. I really like the .45c. It is about the size of a G19 and a great winter carry gun (for me)
  13. very nice!
  14. Based on the story, he wants to ban this substance to prevent murders, assaults and robberies. I'm pretty sure all of these "criminal acts" have been banned for a long damn time. We're treating a hypothetical gunshot wound with a band-aid.......
  15. i'm a fan. seems much faster and very user friendly!
  16. Congrats to him and the parents that raised a true hero
  17. this adds little conversation to this post but............. I rolled through a roadblock this year.......after drinking.......in a taxi. Drinking can be done responsibility. To date, this is the 2nd time i have taken a taxi for this reason. Combined it cost me $40.--Much less than a D.U.I. Not to mention the dangers to others. I don't like the idea of roadblocks. I don't like the idea of carry permits and most government regulation. However, not much i can personally do about these regulations outside of a voting box.
  18. TWNGR....Thanks for the tips. I don't know why i would have this issue with the SR40 and not the other 3 other polymer frame handguns if trigger finger position was the problem. I will take a look at it next time i go to the range to make sure things are on-line. Hopefully, i will be at the east TN shoot so others can shoot and we can compare results. Again, i'm not saying its not user error but...mistakes on the operator are rarely that consistent unless it sight issues.
  19. I plan on coming--I contacted highlander about the event. I believe he will come but he hasn't confirmed yet......
  20. I got a chance to shoot the Ruger SR40 today. Overall, i am pleased. I will need to make some adjustments before my next trip out but i will cover that later. I did some dry firing at the house prior to my range trip to break in the trigger. To me, it still seemed a little heavy (factory states 6.5lbs) but i am sure it will break in over time. The trigger reset quickly and allowed for some quick follow up shots. I ran 100 rounds of Remington UMC 180gr FMJ and 50 Winchester 180gr JHP's. I did not have a failure to fire with either round. Ejection was very predicable-- i could have placed a 5 gallon bucket on the ground and 70% of my brass would have been in it. I did find this gun to shoot high and left of my point of aim. I will attach some pictures so you can see what i am talking about. I went to the range alone so i had no one else to shoot it and confirm this theory. All rounds were fired standing at 12 yards. In all honesty, it could have been me but i didn't have the same issue with my M&P 45 compact. Overall, a very solid and reliable gun. Easy to clean. Once i get the sights dialed in i think i will have a keeper. First picture is 75 rounds fired at 12 yrds. To achieve head shots, i had to aim at the right shoulder. For reference, this is 50 rounds fired from the M&P45c. To be fair , i have had a lot more trigger time with this gun (+1500 rounds) *In no way do i consider my self to be a photographer...This is all point and click*
  21. i would do this!!
  22. Congrats Willis--Glad you followed up!!
  23. I am buying more ammo and not shooting it all. I suspect the price will go up around election time. I want to have plenty before that crazy ***** happens. If the market goes nuts again, i may sale a few guns next year.....Oh, and i'll probably do what i can to make sure O****** doesn't get elected again. This will probably include some volunteer work with the local republicans.
  24. buffalo trace..........
  25. glad it worked out for you. So many guys give up if you don't have cash in hand. I understand the frustration of slide rackers (tire kickers) but some people just need some time. Where is this shop located? It would be hard for me to buy a handgun that didn't come from tri cities gun depot but i would love to stop in and look around......
