ok....now how can we help you?
  2. Range is a private club outside of Weber City, VA. It is capped at 300 members and i think we have pretty long waiting list. 200 is the max. Also has a pistol pit, competition rim-fire range, skeet, trap and archery range.
  3. I really enjoyed it. Very simple operation. I own other rifles and numerous handguns but i am very green when it comes to the AR platform. If i can improve from the results today after firing a couple hundred shots i will be extremely satisfied.
  4. Don't get me wrong--i'm not complaining. I just don't know what to expect. I don't know what is a "good/average" size group at 150 yards.
  5. As i previously posted, i acquired a M&P 15 sport this week. I went out to the range today to give it a run. I was very impressed--but--i have very little experience with the AR platform and long guns in general. I took some picture in hopes that someone could guide me and give me some feedback. Conditions: It was 31 degrees with a steady 10-15 mph wind. The 150 yrd target is somewhat shielded from the wind because of the layout of the range. Hardware: Again, Smith and Wesson M&P 15 Sport. It was firing Armscor .223 55gr Full Metal Jacket rounds. Iron sites...pop-up magpul. I am not a expert at setting the sights on rifles and i didn't have the tool to adjust the front sight. It took me about (4) 5 rounds groups to get things dialed in at 50 yrds. In the future, i'm sure i could bring things in a little tighter--i just didn't have the equipment to do it today. Results: This is 30 rounds at 100 yrds...off a bench. I didn't have a support or bipod. Next is 10 rounds at 150 yards; Finally--this is 10 rounds the 200 yard target. To be honest- this is the first time i've ever shot at a distance over 100 yards. So there it is...go easy on me. Again, first time reaching out beyond 50 yards with a long gun. Needless to say, i'm hooked. I welcome any and all suggestions. I know practice and trigger time will be the key to improvement but tips might get me there faster. Here's a picture looking from the 200 yard target back to the firing line. The black dot is my truck.....
  6. Picked up a M&P sport this week. Before leaving the gun depot, i added a magpul MOE handgaurd and a vertical rail grip. I wanted to head to the range today but the 20* weather with 20-30 mph winds kept me in the house. Sunday is looking better (high of 32* and no wind) so hopefully i will get out for some testing before the week is over. Here's a picture;
  7. very nice!
  8. I'm a member at Wilderness rd near Gate City VA, your welcome to join me almost any saturday.....
  9. I can't wait to get to the range on saturday!! I picked up a M&P 15 sport. This is my first AR so i have a lot to learn. Before leaving the gun depot, i added a magpul MOE handgaurd and a vertical rail grip. Any tips before heading to the range other than a good cleaning?
  10. Might want to call Patrick--he is a sponsor here on the TGO http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/forum/57-stegall-law-firm/
  11. i think the sport is a great rifle. I have been hitting Dolomite with questions for a couple weeks now. He has sold me on the rifle. Can't want to run it through a few hundred rounds
  12. Very nice
  13. Yup...you can install a new stat from lowes or home depot--but--when you screw it up you will pay more than a professional install. Trust me, i dispatch technicians to a "self install" thermostat at least every other week. Normally, the invoice crosses my desk at 300+
  14. VERY nice!
  15. this is a joke........right?
  16. very nice!
  17. congrats--i hate to see you guys post that get your permit in 30 days.....i had to wait for damn near three months. They got kinda overloaded when Obama got elected.
  18. i'm in---i have a friend that could do a run of these if we need a producer.
  19. I didn't check your profile........Are you a LEO? I THINK this would change things drastically.
  20. i'd recommend you change that fusebox out asap. In the future, dont try to do work on the mains. You can get the power company to shut the power off--but you have to get a permit (in most cases) to get it turned back on. If you aren't a licensed electrician you will pay big bucks for someone to pull a permit for you. I'd help you out but the service call for our techs would outrageous to Knoxville.
  21. I'm a big fan of this show. Glad its back. It's about time Tuesday didn't suck
  22. We (American public and "politicians") are in the wrong for allowing New York to walk all over the 2nd amendment. A gun owner is WRONG for carrying in NYC. Two wrongs don't make a right. For now, we have to deal with the rules and regulations of NYC. We can pray they change in the future. However, you have to pay the price now for ignoring the laws. Should a drug addict have their lives ruined for breaking a law that doesn't hurt any innocent citizens? They KNEW the law and the consequences and knowingly went outside the law. No, i don't support drugs but i can't think of a better hypothetical.
  23. Interesting.....do we have any information on the ammo? Article states they sent 2,000 rounds of Winchester duty ammo to the factory for tests (kinda like asking a chef if the food is good) and all rounds fired without issue. Can i assume this was Winchester ammo?
