  1. I'm in and keep up with it weekly (if not daily). I would love to join another active league...
  2. OUCH!! I hate to watch this. I recieved notification for a citation against one of my tech's today. I went online and watched the video--he entered the intersection 3-4 secounds AFTER the light went to red. Thank God he did not hit a car when he went through the intersection. I suspect texting or some other distraction. It only takes one distraction to change someones life forever!! After the conversation we had, the $50 dollar fine was ok with him considering how blessed he was that he didn't kill someone........
  3. your avatar makes this somewhat funny. Anyway, i agree. If i can carry, i will. If i HAVE to go somewhere (i.e.--my wife picks) where carry is prohibited, i will have a beer or two. More than that, she drives/carries. But, if we go out and i decided to have a drink and she doesn't--my weapon can go in her purse without issue. I guess its one of the perks to having a wife with a carry permit.
  4. Easy to find. I tried to give some away the day before the race on the TGO and had no luck. However, they recently made some changes to the track. This has generated SOME excitement but it think we are a long way from a sell-out.......
  5. I'm late to the party. It's my understanding that the TWRA requires a Bio degree. However, Va has two departments in the wildlife management division. You can be a wildlife biologist or conservation officer (basically a Police officer of State property). Don't take this as the God's honest truth but i researched the same topic a few years ago....
  6. I will not buy a gun from a store that posts. Period. They have the right to post--i have the right to move to the next store. One of the other stores in the Tri-Cities was posted with "No Loaded Firearms--CCW's must check guns at the front desk" until recently. Now, they simply state that guns must remain holstered while inside the store. I can live with this....unless it hits the fan.
  7. Very NIce!!
  8. Personally, it doesn't concern me in the least. The TN national guard sets up across the street from me on a regularly basis. They show force on Friday afternoon and Saturday. Come Sunday night, you can't spot a Humvee or tank. I' glad they are training. Excuse my youth, but i think the gun owners of this fine state are an asset to our defense--not a liability. Train where you must--however--it's not the military's job to actively patrol the streets of the USA
  9. If he's on your zombie team--give the man a rifle. You won't be sorry. With all due respect, (and i do know and greatly respect Jeff), his pistol shooting absolutely sucks compared to his abilities behind a rifle--which should say something considering he is a solid shot with a pistol!!
  10. This is true. Great food and a good atmosphere
  11. LITTLE JOHNNY The kids filed into class Monday morning. They were all very excited. Their weekend assignment was to sell something, then give a talk on salesmanship. Little Sally led off. "I sold Girl Scout cookies and I made $30" she said proudly, "My sales approach was to appeal to the customer's civil spirit and I credit that approach for my obvious success." "Very good", said the teacher. Little Debbie was next. "I sold magazines" she said, "I made $45 and I explained to everyone that magazines would keep them up on current events." "Very good, Debbie", said the teacher. Eventually, it was Little Johnny's turn. The teacher held her breath. Little Johnny walked to the front of the classroom and dumped a box full of cash on the teacher's desk. "$2,467", he said. "$2,467!" cried the teacher, "What in the world were you selling?" Toothbrushes", said Little Johnny. "Toothbrushes", echoed the teacher, "How could you possibly sell enough tooth brushes to make that much money?" "I found the busiest corner in town", said Little Johnny, "I set up a Dip &Chip stand and I gave everybody who walked by a free sample." They all said the same thing, "Hey, this tastes like dog ####!" Then I would say, "It is dog ####. Wanna buy a toothbrush? I used the President Obama method of giving you something really ####ty, dressing it up so it looks good, telling you it's free and then making you pay to get the bad taste out of your mouth."
  12. Pretty sure this song explains this thread perfectly--to bad it was a cavalier in the song
  13. I love the Dan Wesson revolvers...wish i could find a couple extra's in nice shape to put away...........
  14. Come to NE TN, i'll let you try a Sig 229, G19, G26 and the M&P. I love the glock platform, but i bet you'll go buy the sig.....
  15. I didn't realize that dealers charged for the install of aftermarket sights. I have put trijicon's on all of my carry guns with the exception of the sig--it has fatory 3-dot night sights. My dealer has always installed the sights for free if i buy them from him ($109 to the best of my memory.) If your near the tri cities, shoot me a message and i will share the dealers name.
  16. Don't get me wrong, i love the G26 and carry one most of the summer. The subcompact Glocks are a great carry gun. Personally, i find the grip the hardest part for ME to conceal. A G26 with a extension and a G19 are pretty similar in size--at least to me. Carry whatever feels right to you--as long as you carry it. I have no objection-and, it really shouldnt matter what i think--do whats best for you!
  17. Nah, i was speaking to the OP. I just don't understand why folks buy a subcompact and add extentions--it end up the same size has a compact with less rounds.....
  18. I suggest you go trade your 26 in for a 19. After you add a magazine extension, you have a gun with a shorter barrel, lower capacity and the grip length of a g19. Just my .02 cents
  19. I had a couple of M&P's and never had the case come back at me. I once had a kimber that would NOT stop throwing them in my face. One positive-- its easy to find the brass.......
  20. Very nice!
  21. Welcome!
