  1. I agree 100%. My wife and i both have a HCP. On rare occasion (previously at the movies), i would stash my carry gun in her purse and place it below my feet. Since the recent searches and the events in CO--my policy has changed. I keep it on my person and concealed at all times. I will ONLY be searched by LEO's and i will walk away from anyone else that might try to search me. Just my opinion.........(exception would be the airport but i typically drive to avoid this situation)
  2. Like you, i always keep my trigger finger high of the trigger. In a potential self defense situation, this is exactly where my finger landed and it didn't move (thank God). However, this position was completely subconscious--i don't remember the draw or hand position--My wife noticed it and mentioned these items after the fact. I ALWAYS hold a firearm of all types in this manner. I am a firm believer of this method.
  3. NIce work!!
  4. I want one . I will probably hold off til next summer (when the prices come down a bit)
  5. nice!
  6. i agree--can't hurt a bit.
  7. Go see Tom and Brian at Tri-Cities Gun Depot. Its really the only one in the area to see. Elizabethton Tn https://plus.google.com/111250219176458614980/about?gl=us&hl=en
  8. excuse my youth, can you offer instructions on this? I have seen it many time and i assume it is as simple as it looks. I just dont want to screw soemthing up assuming....
  9. Happy birthday!
  10. Glad things turned out ok.
  11. Anyone look for a nice DW in East TN needs to check this out. (i don't know the seller or anything about this gun--just a FYI) http://theeclassifieds.com/Classifieds/Detail/abb43ef4-5718-4306-9462-a0a200e82b48
  12. Nice report. The Beretta is a very solid gun but it has never felt right in my hand for whatever reason. Not a knock on the gun but they aren't one size fits all and i don't do well with this one. I would love to hear/see pictures and more info on the Taurus 1911..........
  13. DO this-- it's my understanding that a shop owner has some responsibity over a deal that happends on their property. No reason to screw up someones FFL to sell a gun for a few more dollars. They have more at risk than you do. I had a guy approach me and try to buy a gun for $20 more than the store offered. I told him it was direspectful to the owner to lowball them INSIDE THE STORE. I traded with the store for less right right front of the guy--and it felt great. Do what you must but do it off the FFL's property!!!
  14. whatever.... come get'um. I think it's B.S. They MIGHT suggested the magazine max again but that's as far as it goes. God help the goverment if i'm wrong.........
  15. keep it concealed and enjoy all TN has to offer.
  16. I absolutly love my 15-2. With adjustable sights, i don' know of any special hold techniques but i am far from a competitive shooter.
  17. It depends on where you take it what kind of instructor you get. I don't have any reccomendations in your area but i'm sure someone will be along shortly. The shooting portion of the test is VERY simple. If you have any firearms knowledge at all you will be fine. My wife passed it without ever firing a hangun before. I worked with her on the grip and then did some dryfiring before the test just to be prepared. She shot 100%. I would reccomend taking the course with a .22 or similar just to keep cost down. Let me know if you have any other questions.
  18. Its no secret gas prices are up. Unemployment is way too high. People are suffering around the U.S. No doubt in my mind. My question is this; how much of this do we bring upon ourselves? In the last two decades, information can freely travel across the country in a mater of clicks, i often wonder if things are really that much worse than they were in the past? Maybe we are more exposed and often over exposed to the issues at hand? Would business owners know we were in a recession if it wasn't plastered on every billboard and TV commercial? Would they invest in new technology and create jobs if they were not completely consumed by the state of the market and the predictions of the talking heads (pick your channel--FOX, MSNBC, ABC, etc) Not to make light of the situation in Colorado; IF this would have happened 30 years ago, would we have police stationed at movie theaters across the country tonight spot checking American citizens? Just my uneducated thoughts--remember, the bar opened at 1700......
  19. I've got a tournament that weekend in Chattanoga--Lets do the following weekend. Thanks
  20. Lets go--when will you be in JC again?
  21. Praying for you and the family.
  22. This happened to my wife while taking her permit test. She had a full collar t-#### on at the time. When she took a shooting stance and extended her arms, a opening at the top of the t-shirt was created. .22 brass ran right down there. Thankfully, we had talked about it and she remained calm. I couldn't for the life of me figure out why she immediatly dropped the mag and racked the slide while shooting--then i heard about it..........
  23. I'm ready to go anytime. I play one a week at a minimum. I was REALLY burnt out while going through the PGA program and working the business but i have sinced moved on. I now play golf to drink beer and have a good time--the way it should be,
  24. Really?? You can buy a long gun and ammo at 18 years of age. Why would a adult need to be present to hunt with a long gun. I'm not a hunter but i may learn something today. Please advise..........
