  1.   Same here and i have state farm. You determine the "insured" value of each item. They insure it for that value based on your neighborhood and the risk involved. IF you want to insure your Hi-point for $500, they will probably do it--but you pay based on the insured value you claim--atleast that's how it has worked for me.
  2. As i posted in another magazine thread;   They are out there but difficult to find. I picked up a couple G19 mags this weekend. Tri Cities gun depot has (or had)  a couple G17 mags. Gunslingers has (or had) a few G19 mags also.......

  4.   and what exactly did you add to this thread?
  5.   Same reason i carry a .357 in the woods.
  6. I highly recommend a Smith and Wesson M&P 45c. Solid gun that shoots smooth. Thumb safety if you want it--
  7. I picked up a solid ruger service six for ~$300. Any of the old rugers will be better than most modern revolvers at that price point.
  8. I've held both and i prefer (and own) Gen 3's. You opinion may vary. Both are solid weapons!!
  9. ^^^This--or maybe a G26. Both is better than one...........
  10. Compared to three days ago--I'm flyin' tonight!!
  11. sorry i couldn't help......
  12. i'm in-- not sure why yet but i guess i'll figure that out later........
  13. Home defense gun = spend the money. If it were training or lights--i would go with the training. You can train to use the lights in your home to your advantage. If you can swing both, get the best you can afford.   If your like me, i hate spending $300-1,000 on lights, scopes, red dots and night sights. I could pack the safe full of range guns (lower end pistols, .22 rifles, revolvers, hunting rifles etc) for the same money. However, i think getting home defense set up properly is more important than range toys. Spend the cash on the boring stuff and keep it. Buy the other guns later. Just my .02 cents.
  14. Glock for carry and iPhone. I'm far from a iGroupie but i guess i fit your criteria.
  15. Can't get anything but .40 around here. Glad i sold my last .40 to consolidate to 9mm and .45 for semi autos
  16.   I agree 100%. Its this crap that gives responsible gun owners a bad rep. I'm all for taking new shooters to the range. Taking the time to train someone how to shoot is a awesome experience. However, i don't think that's the time to break out a 12 gauge and the video camera. On top of that, why post it on youtube?!?! You speak of our veterans--yes, in general, they are outstanding people. But, this doesn't mean they are excluded from safe firing procedures. The last time i went to a public range (years ago), there was a group of young soldiers pointing AR's at each other on the range taking photo's and acting like 12 year old idiots. Behavior like this and what is displayed above is why i belong to a private club.
  17. Great video. Stand up guy with solid grasp of the situation at hand......
  18. I found them completly out of .45, .22, and .380. They had one box of 9mm remington and it was priced at $39.99--gold plated i assume. I picked up a couple boxes of .38 so i could shoot something at the range today without breaking into the ammo at the house (modest supply for times like this)
  19. Merry Christmas to all!
  20. Merry Christmas to you and yours!!
  21. I signed up the wife. I'm thinking about signing my two dogs up too
  22.   Mahoney's. My boss asked me to take him to buy a handgun today. He had little or no experiance but he wanted to get it while he could. He is a lefty so he fit right into a M&P 40c. We will head to the range this week to work on the basics.
  23. one local store put a self imposed limit on ammo today--They say they doubt if they will get more for a while.
