The mag release is my only snag. It's unlike everything else i own. I hope for a single stack glock 9mm. They look aweful and feel like a high point but they work and you can't kill them. For a carry gun, i'll hold my head in shame and keep rockin' the glock

I carry down to FL with multiple guns on a fairly regular basis. Assuming you have a permit, you have no worries. I keep one on my hip and one in the center console. Just make sure you don't print in FL. I think you must notify a officer of your weapon in NC but i'm not 100%. I always notify so that's one regulation that means little to me. I know FL/NC/SC/GA are all accepting of our permits and i've never had issue with any of the mentioned

Secret Santa.. show us what you got....

I received my box today. Very nice range bag, Gerber knife, LED tags and a bunch of good chocolate. Thank you Secret Santa! -
My wife loves all things pink but she's doesn't even do the pink gun thing. She thinks pink on a gun makes it look like a toy. With a young daughter in the home, I think it's pretty solid logic.

Does a j-frame make you lazy
Parrothead replied to Parrothead's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Thanks for your feedback. I understand what you are saying. It's that voice of "Murphy" that speaks to me almost every morning. The day I don't pack a "proper defensive weapon" will be the day I need six rounds. My post was more aimed at the mindset of the pocket gun and its use as a primary carry weapon. As tempting as it is, I have avoided in most cases. At times, I will pack it solo but it's typically situations where I would have gone unarmed without a j frame in the stable. To boil it down, I am curious if the aggressive marketing of pocket guns and the ease of carry may have changed what the majority of folk carry for self defense. I know the guy/gals on this forum are typically gun fanatics and would be the outlier on any real study. I'm just wondering if the perception of these weapons may have changed. It's no secret, these guns have flooded the market. Are they being carried or sitting in a safe? -
I could probably edit the title to say "pocket gun" rather than j frame but the same principle remains. Have these small frame, low capacity guns kept you from carrying a compact or high capacity defensive weapon? Up until recently, I've always tried to carry at least a compact size handgun. I've tried several pocket size pistols and noting was 100% reliable--until I went to the j-frame. Now I have to have to "talk myself into" carrying a larger gun IWB for every day carry. Normally, I resist the convenience of just the j frame and put on a 30sf and let to j frame ride pocket. But, the challenge is real. Am I alone?

Take a look at the Honeywell lyric if you like automation. Personally, I recommend the Honeywell 8000. I think you can change the set back points to come up gradually. Either way, the Honeywell stuff from dealers (hvac professionals) is much different than the big box stores. Just do your research and shop smart.

Private sales? In state/out of state? Trade or cash? Class III? If you can add some details, we can help you out without writing a 12 page report on the details of firearm transfers

I know guys with the Stars' that wouldn't trade them for anything. Remember, Taurus is pumping out new guns daily--star, not so much

^^^^This. Don't overlook the security six line either. You might be able to pick up a used glock and a ruger .357 for the money of a new sig (226/229/220) etc

Post Photos of Your Bedside Home Defense Weapon(s)
Parrothead replied to JohnC's topic in General Chat
Since i already had a picture on photobucket....FNS 9mm with night sights, TLR-1 and a spare mag holding 17 additional rounds. -
Mostly yes but not completely. Take some time to think about where these regulations could go. Especially the one dealing with private property. What are you willing to allow on YOUR property because the government/legislators force it upon you? Can of worms--i think so!

I love these old rugers. That one looks great. I have a service six that is only second to the Dan Wesson. Great gun! Congrats on the condition of this one!

Let me say, I don't think anything made with polymer should be in this conversation. I love the glocks and FN's but this is something to pass down many years from now. I'd vote for a classy revolver of some sort.

I actually added the g30sf after already owning the xds. I have to admit the Glock is getting the majority of the iwb carry time. To the op--congrats. I love the Glock 45 lineup.
-
Again; why would you want to carry a airsoft gun--or anything that resembles a gun in a normal holster? Carry a gun or don't. This seems simple; maybe more information would help

picked up a G30SF from a fellow TGO'er. After a couple hundred rounds this weekend, i'm in love. The grip angle has never felt "right" on the other glocks i have owned. However, something feels differant on this one. It maybe in my head but i had not problem connecting with the target. I just recieved my Thesis holster. Just waiting on night sites now. Then i will have a carry gun that may leave the Xds in the safe more times than not.........

I'm in if you need one more.

Do any of you feel anxious when you carry?
Parrothead replied to bird333's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
It becomes 2nd nature. My wife makes fun of me. Before I leave the house, I do a self pat down that consists of "keys/phone/wallet/pistol". It's a memory device that I run through whenever I leave the house. It may be pocket carry or belt carry. This silly routine reminds me that I have everything and where it is located. I've carried every single day for the last five years and I've had one co worker ask what the black clip was on my belt. FIVE years and one person has noticed. The odds are in your favor. Carry on and relax. -
Are you trying to get the keys to the TGO jet? Just kidding--this is one of the better managed forums. Seems to be full of good people.

Someone please explain what the hell this guy is doing.
