  1. That's like saying a wrench is butt ugly. So long as it's compact and packs a big punch, I'm interested.
  2. Picked up a box of .45 and .22 Winchester 555's at the Old Hickory Wal-Mart. They still had plenty left of .45, 9mm, and .40, along with Winchester Xpert HV Bulk packs.
  3. Yes, it is out of control. They are out there making trouble every day with Marlin 30-30's and Ruger 10/22s, and I want it to STOP.
  4. Thanks for the tip, I'm heading there tomorrow morning.
  5. I shot a P-11 side by side with a S&W snubbie loaded with .38 158 grain +P hollow points. The P-11 just hurt to shoot. The S&W had massive amounts of recoil, but I suppose the grip was better and it didn't hurt to shoot.
  6. I'm eager to see a hands on report as well. I imagine it kicks quite a bit, but I wonder if it's as worse as a S&W snubbie loaded with .38+p.

    Taurus Slim

Anyone see one of these in person? Or better yet, shot one?
  8. I can't believe 800 boxes just melted away in such a small amount of time. Seeing that, I wonder how many boxes Bud's has at 31.90 to have them in stock still.
  9. Yeah, nothing new. Recently on BBC a supposed paratrooper from D-Day was found out to be a fraud and the French town that erected a small monument in his honor had to tear it down. I mean, really? Claiming you jumped on St. Mere Eglis when you were a POG the whole war?
  10. Folks at the Cool Springs Wal-Mart indicated to me that they are done with Blazer and it's all Federal from now on.
  11. +11.93 for the cheapest shipping. Still not the worst price I've seen for .380 ever.
  12. I was looking at the Mil Pro model, and the guy kept insisting that it was DAO, that the sign was wrong, and he was 100% positive it was DAO. I was going to buy it because I thought it was SA/DA but I walked away. Maybe I should have picked it up anyways.

    Smith.. 642

I love shooting snubbies, especially compared to these Kel-Tec pocket guns. Shoot an Airweight side by side with a P11 and then tell me what's painful! At least I can hit the broad side of a barn with a snubbie...
  14. Is there an easy way to tell if a PT is SA/DA or DAO without pulling the trigger? I was looking at a few different varieties at Academy (where you may not dry fire) and I was seeing conflicting information on the description card and what the clerk was claiming.
  15. Just stretch it out a few times like an accordion? Or like hang a weight from it for a period of time? I appreciate the quick responses
  16. My father's Smith and Wesson Model 645 was kept stored in a gun case for ~20 years with two magazines loaded with hardball before I started using it again 4 years ago. Things were fine then. Yesterday at the range, however, I figured out that one of those magazines is consistently misfeeding rounds, especially those near the end of the mag. Is there some way to salvage the mag? Would special cleaning help it? Or, considering the excessive amount of time the mag springs were compressed, would replacing the spring help? If so, anyone know where I can find the spring? Thanks for the help in advance.
  17. Very cool. My next gun after a .22 was going to be a M&P 9mm compact, but after seeing all these posts about the RIA Compact, I may have to get one of those instead.
  18. I see those Smart Cars all over my neighborhood. I don't understand them. They're expensive, super tiny, and for the size, not very fuel efficient. Too chic and not very practical for anywhere in Tennessee. I don't see how the super small size is an advantage unless you just can't drive or park.
  19. This morning Harding Place Wal-Mart had 2 boxes of .357 sig, several boxes of Winchester .38 Spl +P, .25 auto. No 9mm, .45, .22, or .380 unfortunately.
  20. Have you asked on coltforum.com? I think it looks like somebody's misguided idea of awesome back in the 1950s, so maybe it was a presentation model of some sort. The Navy model looks very nice, but it would have been cool if they had matched the slide finish on the frame.
  21. Hmm...that was supposedly an issue with the Mustang. I haven't had any issues with my 238, but it's not like I've put serious rounds through it yet.
  22. Not to nitpick, but the PDF lists the P238 as having a polymer frame. Products & Services The Sig Sauer product page says otherwise.
  23. Thanks for the tip. I picked up some ammo with my OJ this morning. I was limited to 2 boxes of Federal .45, but it's only 14.XX a box. They still had plenty of 9mm left and some of the .45.
  24. This is crazy shop talk. I've heard much worse being spread at the "rumor mill" aka the line to buy ammo at Wal-Mart.
