  1. My older car is a 2003 Chevy Impala with just over 100K on it.  I bought it used in 2006, and I have always followed the change-oil dummy light that flashes on after X amount of time.  I've never had any problems with the engine for what that's worth.
  2.   But of course.  After all, it all started when they legalized homosexuality for priests.
  3.   How dare they demand to be treated like normal people?  The nerve of some people!
  4.   While there are certainly exceptions to be found, from what I've read the vast majority of home-invasion robberies are criminal-on-criminal.
  5. As others have said, the Kershaw assisted opening knives are quite nice and reasonably priced. I've carried a half-serrated Scallion for years. I've used it to saw small branches in a pinch.
  6. Read the header. This isn't a 2000+megapixel camera taking single snapshots.      BEFORE THE RIOT version 1 - The Vancouver Canucks Fan Zone along Georgia St. for Game 7 of the 2011 Stanley Cup Final was captured at 5:46 pm on June 15, 2011. It is made up of 216 photos (12 across by 18 down) stitched together, taken over a 15-minute span, and is not supposed to represent a single moment in time. The final hi-res file is 69,394 X 30,420 pixels or 2,110 megapixels. Special thanks to Bonita Howard and CBC Real Estate.
  7.   Car repairmen are judged based on how many cars they fix.   Programmers are judged on their programming.   Accountants are judged on their numbers.   So if you call someone a Legislator ...
  8.   The district Sanford won is heavily Republican. The RNC could have nominated my dog and he would have won.
  9.     So were Lee Harvey Oswald and Charles Whitman.  Your point?
  10.   Every mosque they've gone to has turned them down.
  11. I've owned 3 Taurus revolvers over the years.  My personal experiences with them:   The 617 is a compact framed snubnose 7 shot 357 magnum.  It was my first gun, and I doubt I'd ever buy one again as it's neither fish nor fowl.  Too big/thick for proper CCW with that 7 shot cylinder, with all the disadvantages of a snubbie.  On the other hand it always worked well, never gave me any trouble and was as accurate as could be expected for a snubbie.  I eventually sold it as I now have a S&W 649 for regular CCW and a 3" Ruger SP101 for when I can carry something a little larger.   The current model 66 is 7 shot medium framed .357 revolver, mine was an older model 6 shot.  It always shot well, but had been abused by previous owners and was in rough condition.  I sold it after I lucked into a deal on a nice 4" Ruger GP100.    The 94 was a nice little plinker. 9 shot .22lr, 4" blued.  The only problem with it is the extremely long and heavy double action trigger.  Single action worked great.  Everything I read said there wasn't much to be done about the DA pull except put up with it.  Eventually I sold it after I purchased a new S&W 617 and an older S&W 63.   (why yes, I DO like revolvers :D )   Anyway, I will say that I never had much trouble out of mine, but I do think my Rugers & Smiths are worth the extra cost.
  12.   If you claim the EITC and know you're not entitled to it according to the tax code, then you are by definition a tax cheat.  So I'd say it does quite a bit to catch tax cheats.
  13. So using publicly available information to catch people who cheat on their taxes is big brotherism?
  14. I don't go under the speed limit, but I do like to leave a looong healty follow distance to the car in front of me.  It's saved me more than once.  People seem to not like it, so they pass me, pull up and then I back off again.  I really don't see how being 30 yards further up and going the exact same speed is better.   I watched one of those "I'm in a hurry" lane jumpers the other day.  He was whipping back and forth across 4 lanes of traffic, jumping ahead.  I watched him cross all the way back and forth 3 or 4 times.  He never got out of my visual range the entire commute, while I sat in the same lane, poking along at the speed limit with my long follow distance.  My conclusion: aggressive driving doesn't really gain you anything but an ulcer.

    Crazy people

Kraut has a legitimate usage in conjunction with the word Sour.  Injun is just a racial slur.
  16. I keep hearing this, but I must be the lucky one.  I've owned two Century AK's (a WASR and now a SAR-1, the WASR's predecessor).  Both were accurate and reliable.
  17. Now that Margaret Thatcher is dead, who will take custody of the last pair balls in England?
  18. Good.  Maybe the one in Smyrna will pick up some more.  I stopped by yesterday and they had tons of stuff in other calibers, but 9mm/45/7.62x39/.223/.22lr was bare. The guy behind the counter was telling me that they get stuff in and it's gone by 9AM.  People are waiting there when they open the doors.
  19. Kmart dropped all gun related stuff years ago.
  20. I have no problem with Facebook, but then I never see the ads.  FIrefox + Adblock Plus = a much more pleasant browsing experience in general.

    New Sig Sauer M11A1!

My first semi-auto was a P220 (since sold to someone here on TGO a few years back). They're very nice.  Congrats on your new gun.
  22. I own both.  I like the looks and feel of the Mini more, but the AR wins for magazines.  For what I've spent on a few Mini mags I could outfit a platoons worth of ARs.
  23. I enjoy the occasional beer, but this still makes me laugh.
  24. The G22 is a bullpup.  You'll see two magazines in the stock.  The rearmost slot just stores one of the mags ready to go.  The one in front is the mag well.  I used to have one but couldn't hit squat with it.  I think it was just me because other people could shoot it just fine.  I like the looks of the EAA version and wouldn't mind trying it.
