  1. Pepsi? Small world. I worked for Pepsi out of Nashville for 15 years. Harriman, eh? You worked for Buck in Rockwood?
  2. If you read the description it seems otherwise. The secret is the patent-pending Charter Arms Rimless Revolver Round System. Basically, when a round is loaded into the chamber a specialized spring engages the cartridge’s ejector groove. When the cylinder is opened and the ejector rod operated, it extracts and ejects the fired cases.

    Lay-a-way Plan

Specialty Arms in Lavergne has done layaway for as long as I've been going there.
  4. There is also no place for my money at your mall. But then I don't go to malls anymore anyway. www.amazon.com. www.bestbuy.com. www.newegg.com. I can get in enough trouble with just those three addresses.
  5. Having had to call back to my home state to get a new copy of my birth certificate in the last few years, I can verify that you do not get a copy of the birth certificate as it existed the day you were born. You get a newly created document using the information they have on record for you. You know, if there was any truth to all this about him I'm gonna say the RNC and the Bush administration would have been able to get hold of it and use it. They didn't. That should tell you something. There are many reasons to disagree with the man and to have voted against him. This, however, is a big steaming pile of bovine scat.
  6. Interesting, but can you document the vote in question? Before I repeat things like this I like to be able to point to the exact source.
  7. Ammonia isn't necessary. I've always been told to use whatever water was available in the short term, and then to follow up with the hottest water you can manage. Just this side of boiling works very well and evaporates very quickly.
  8. That's a rather odd order in which to have a revelation, considering that Ruby Ridge took place in 1992 and Waco took place in 1993.
  9. Ruby Ridge took place under Bush I. Clinton didn't take office until the year after Ruby Ridge took place, so Reno had nothing to do with it.
  10. I took this one yesterday. I scored 31 out of 33. It's not that difficult a test.
  11. Oh man. I'm so sorry. Having lost my wife just under a year ago I know just how hollow that sounds. Take care of yourself and your wife.
  12. Actually I think the new stock is even uglier, but to each their own. The ATI stock is attractive, but I've read that they can take a fair amount of work to get "just right." They aren't a drop-in-and-shoot thing.
  13. It's their home. If they don't want you to bring a gun into the house then you have no right to do so. Can you carry without them knowing? Probably. My mother doesn't like guns either. When I go to her home I leave the gun at home. Could I slip something in my pocket and she'd never know? Of course. But I wouldn't be that disrespectful of her. Her home, her rules.
  14. He's from Michigan. That means GM, Ford and Chrysler own him just as the entertainment industry owns the reps from California, the mining industry owns the reps from PA and West Virginia etc..
  15. I finally gave up on trying to find a 9mm Sub 2000 (for now) and bought a Hi Point 995 at the gun show in Smyrna yesterday. Unfortunately I won't have time to take it to the range today, and likely next weekend is out too. Thoughts that go through my head: The more I hold it the more I like the existing stock that comes with it. I just wish someone would make a carbine that took BHP mags, as that is the only 9mm pistol I own. Just watch - sometime in the next 30 days I will run across a reasonably priced Sub2000 in 9mm.
  16. Rice can easily be stored long term. The simplest way is to buy some of the sealable plastic buckets intended for food storage. Then pick up some dry ice. Put a chunk of dry ice in the bottom of the bucket, cover it with some paper towels, pour in the rice, lay the lid loosely on top of the bucket, wait long enough for the dry ice to sublimate (thereby displacing all of the oxygen in the bucket with carbon dioxide), then seal the bucket. Voila, seriously long term food storage. Stuff your grandkids could dig out when they're full grown and it would be fine.
  17. A wheel gun? A wheel gun???? Come. Join us. Drink the
  18. FDR may not have been the Greatest President Ever as some like to think, but the Great Depression was already well underway when he took office. Google the term "Hooverville" sometime.
  19. Hmm. Cooincidentally I think I bought a .22lr conversion for my P220 from them at the gun show Saturday. Seemed like good prices and decent selection.
  20. Yes. You have an "unverified" account like mine. They bug you about verifying it, and there is a ceiling on total transfers, which last I checked was $10,000. Mine is tied to a credit card that I use for one thing only: online transactions. It has no ties to my bank account. Some people don't like to do business with people who use unverified paypal accounts. If that is the case I buy from someone else.
  21. I use Paypal occasionally, but I have never done the "verified" thing that requires you tie your Paypal account to your bank account. It hits one thing only: the credit card that I use for online purposes. They bug you about getting verified and point out there is a limit on lifetime expenditures. They've bumped that limit up several times over the years. Right now I think it's $10,000.
  22. It's amazing how many overly arrogant pilots have had all their belongs go missing when they move. Might have something to do with pissing off someone who works in Air Freight. Or not. "Where's my stuff" "Well Lieutenant, it appears all your stuff got shipped to the Azores." "But I was transferred from Eglin to McChord!" "Hmm. Must've been a misprint on the routing labels. We'll get that fixed ASAP."
  23. Yeah, his Wolf 7.62x39 and 5.56 was flying out by the case and half case. I grabbed a half case of the 7.62x39 to toss in the back of the closet since every time I tried to get any of that cheap Monarch at Academy they were out.
  24. I just got home from the Fairgrounds show. Good god what a zoo. The line to get in ran almost to stop sign at the exit. Prices were all over the place. Some reasonable, some stupid. AR's and AK's as far as the eye could see. Me, I settled for some 7.62x39 and a shiny new .22lr conversion kit for my P220. I may try to get to the range today to test it. If I can't it may be a couple of weeks.
  25. Last I heard the Constitution Party was basically theocratic Republicans. No thanks.
