  1. A lot of the smaller storylines would have to be cut, with just the overall story focusing on a few of the characters who showed up throughout the book. They'd probably end up merging a few of the stories and making them about a smaller number of primary characters.
  2. It can be mentioned in 1774 all they want. Is it specifically outlined in the Constitution as ratified? If not, good luck with that.
  3. Well, the chart does say that is a result of jerking ...
  4. A tax return is something you file every year. A tax refund is something else entirely.
  5. That works. As long as it's not some pseudo sudo that is.
  6. You want to use root access to cure it?
  7. For the most part that's movie BS. You can't "enhance" data that isn't there.
  8. Thanks. Much appreciated.
  9. That's what made me stop and ask here. That sounds great to me. Assuming you find them, please let me know what you think is a fair price.
  10. Can someone tell me if these grips will fit a RIA Tactical 1911 (ambidextrous extended safety). http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/GRIP450-1.html
  11. Selmer? That's the same group I bought mine from. They come to the gun show in Smyrna, which is where I caught up with them. They're the only outfit at the show that had 995's out for the normal non-inflated "BUY IT NOW BEFORE IT'S BANNED!" price. Which is why next time I see them I'll be sure to check their table first. Take note dealers.
  12. Yes. I have a Mossberg 590A1 myself, but I have to admit it's probably overkill for my purposes. A plain 500 or 870 would server equally well.
  13. http://info.hktdc.com/alert/us0311e.htm Note the date. More here. It's actually two bans. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norinco Importations of most Norinco firearms and ammunition into the United States were blocked during the Clinton Administration in 1993 under new trade rules when China's Most Favored Nation status was renewed. Concerns about their use by criminals in inner cities was the reason put forward for the prohibition. The prohibition did not apply to sporting shotguns or shotgun ammunition however. In 1994, some employees of Norinco came under federal investigation from both the FBI as well as the BATF after a successful sting dubbed “Operation Dragon Fire.” In May 1996, in what was called "the largest seizure of fully operational automatic weapons in U.S. history,"[3] 14 individuals and an Atlanta, Georgia company were indicted for the unlicensed importation and sale of 2,000 AK-47's into the United States. U.S. Customs agents posing as arms traffickers convinced a group of Chinese arms dealers, including three Norinco representatives, that they were in the market to buy guns for drug rings and street gangs.[4] "The defendants offered the government undercover agents more sophisticated weapons, including hand-held rocket launchers, mortars, anti-aircraft missiles, silenced machine guns and even tanks," said Wayne Yama****a of the U.S. Customs Service.[5] The Customs Service discovered during the investigation that these weapons were bound for Oakland, California street gangs.[6] According to an affidavit signed by two of the undercover agents involved in the investigation, representatives from Norinco offered to sell urban gangs shoulder-held missile launchers capable of downing a large commercial airliner. In August 2003, the Bush administration imposed sanctions on Norinco for allegedly selling missile-related goods to Iran.[6] While not formally joining the multinational effort to restrict the proliferation of missiles, China did commit in 2000, not to assist in any way the development by other countries of MTCR-class missile technology. Neither the Chinese government nor Norinco has denied doing business with Iranian companies, although they did deny that it was for missile related purposes at the Shahid Hemmat Industrial Group, Iran’s key manufacturer of ballistic and non ballistic missiles.[7] Norinco has called the sanctions "groundless and unjustified" and "entirely unreasonable."[8] These sanctions led to a prohibition on imports into the US of the remaining types of firearms and ammunition not covered by the 1993 ban.
  14. Take it up with George Bush. He implemented the import ban.
  15. I've dealt with Jeff when he used to work at Specialty Arms in Lavergne. Great guy, very helpful, very knowledgable. My only regret was being low on cash and not being able to get him to do some things I really wanted done. Now that I can afford it he's not exactly conveniently located for me anymore.
  16. Well, there aren't too many people, Green Beret or otherwise, with 114 years of handgun training.
  17. On reflection that's probably not a bad idea. The HD Tivo will only get better and cheaper as time goes on. If you won't need it in the foreseeable future then the series 2 probably will serve you better.
  18. I use a TivoHD with Comcast and I love it. If you can swing the extra cash, go ahead and get a TivoHD (aka series 3). It wil work fine as a standard definition Tivo, and if you ever do decide to upgrade to HDTV you will have the option. Ignore the "20 hours of HDTV", that translates out to some stupidly high number of SD hours.
  19. I'm hoping Ruger will put out a PF9-ish 9mm. Which they probably will about 10 minutes after I give in and buy a PF9.
  20. People say things like this, but in real life, when the feds show up at your door you have a decision to make. "Do I want to deprive my wife & kids (or myself) of my income and freedom?" When it comes to it, I suspect that the vast majority will give them up. They'll bitch, they'll sue, they'll organize and protest, but they aren't going to give up their lives and ruin their family.
  21. In all seriousness, all I will say is congratulations Mr. President, and may you do a better job than I think you will.
  22. There were people who wanted to do the same thing so Reagan could run again. No different. It was "changed" the first time to introduce the 2-term limit. Why is reversing the change any different?

    Kel Tec Rifle?

The sub2k Is a fun gun. I bought a used one recently. I had some feeding problems but I think it may have been just a problem with one of the magazines. The sights were WAAAAY off in that I had to aim at the far left edge of the target to hit the center, but that's just a matter of adjusting them.
  24. Mooooooooo! I don't recall seeing them, but then I wasn't really looking.
