  1. I've kind of decided if I want to buy more toys I should divest myself of some I don't use anymore. I have an older "Made in West Germany" vintage P220 I'm considering selling. It's a sweet little shooter, but I never take it out anymore. Hell, at this point I have three .45's (XD45 and a 1911) and all I seem to shoot anymore is 9mm and .22lr. I also have the .22lr conversion kit for the P220. That's another $350 worth right there. I see one that looks exactly like mine on gunbroker for $599. The price seems a little high to me, but what do I know. I can't figure that my old P220 with the .45 and .22 slides is worth $900+. Anybody want to give me an idea of what this is worth? (the pic below is from the auction, not mine, but it's the same vintage with the same old-style SIG grips) Sig P220 45acp TRADES : Semi-auto at GunBroker.com
  2. I'll be very close to the Nashville event. I'll be peering down from 13 floors up.
  3. Honestly? I'm a big fat guy who hates exercising just for exercise sake. Lately I've been working on building my endurance by taking my dog for longer and longer walks, using the treadmill while I watch TV, and taking the stairs at work more often. I can't climb all the way to 13 from ground, but I'm now getting off the elevator on 7 and climbing the rest of the way at least once or twice a day.

    My murse!

Interesting. I need to find one of those Maxpedition-type murses that's appropriately sized for carrying my netbook and accessories. The fact that I could slip a holstered pistol in it would be an added bonus. [/url]
  5. The FCC is not how you hurt a TV show. Advertisers are how you hurt a TV show. Contact the people whose advertisements ran during that episode and let them know why you will no longer use their products. Put your money where your mouth is. If your bank ran a commercial during that episode, go open an account somewhere else and close the existing one, being sure (both verbally and in letters to higher ups) to let them know why you are leaving.
  6. I've noticed that the range I go to has put up signs that you aren't allowed to pick up other people's brass. That, and I see a lot less brass going into their buckets and instead going back with the person who shot it. Even 9mm is being picked up these days.
  7. I keep thinking all this "buy buy buy!" will ease up as people get a comfortable stockpile. So far, not so much. I need to sort through all my ammo and figure out what I'm short of. Oh, and I need more .22lr dammit!
  8. My excuse is arthritis. It has nothing to do with being a big wussyboy. That's just a bonus.
  9. Nice gun. I like the sights. I guess I'm a wuss, as my S&W 638 kicks hard enough with .38+P that I have no desire to swap out for a .357.

    Taurus Slim 709

Nope. You just have to cough up $750ish instead of the $350-$400 the Taurus is likely to retail for.

See, now you have me nervous. I have a Taurus .357 that I bought back in the 90's. It's served me well, but has now developed a minor problem and now I wonder what will happen if I send it back. The only other time I've had to call them was for a replacement screw (the one that holds the cylinder yoke in place) and they sent me one free within a week.

Interesting. I hadn't heard of this one. Looks like it's ever so slightly larger than the Kel Tec PF9. So, how long before Ruger, S&W, or one of the other bigger names makes a teeny little 9mm that is reasonably affordable?
  14. I'm not sure what it says about NASCAR fans that some of them actually got taken by this joke.
  15. Notice the article is already dated April.
  16. Congratulations and welcome to the club. I wrote the check to pay off my mortgage (my last debt) last June. Debt free is a great place to be, especially today. It's good to know that if it came down to it I could get by on minimum wage.
  17. Congrats on going back to work. I haven't been out of work since I was 19, but I remember the feeling sucked.
  18. I own two of them. A converted WASR-10 (started life as a single-stack with 10 round limit to get past import restrictions, converted to take standard AK mags after a rebuild by Century) and a SAR-1 (basically the same rifle, but imported before the restrictions and took standard mags from day 1). I've never had a bit of trouble out of either of them. I make no guarantees about one you buy.
  19. I've considered the garage myself. If I do then I plan to build a cheap-looking cabinet around it. One that looks like the kind of thing you use to store paint and other misc. crap. Other than that, get it anchored into the concrete and put a goldenrod in it and you should be good.
  20. Yeah, near as I can tell the more anti-gay someone is, the higher the likelihood they're a closet queen. I'm about as het as it gets, and I really don't care if a couple of guys want to go have some fun. Hey, if there's two girls for every boy, then two guys together leaves six girls for me.
  21. Yeah, yeah. I don't like to go from memory*, so first I remoted to my home machine to look up my pictures and serial #'s listing, only to realize that I really need to update that. So then I hit Gunbroker and checked auctions for pics until I found one with a serial # showing. *Mainly because ever since I hit 40 it seems I have the memory of a crack baby.
  22. I'm not at home, so I can't check mine, but based on the pictures in this auction: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=125466413 The one labeled #3, the serial # should be on the left side of the receiver, just above the trigger.
  23. Our jury system is a pointed example of why this is not always true.
  24. There are plenty of silly things his supporters have done, but I don't see how sign a pledge to support Obama's policies for health care, energy and education reform. is semantically equal to a pledge of loyalty to Obama."Support" and "loyalty" are not the same thing.
