  1. Congratulations to both of you.

    Snake!

Hmm. A friend of mine who is *really* in to snakes and reptiles (in the way that some of us are really into guns) says that isn't a corn snake, but a milk snake.
  3. If not, that's what the S&W 638 is for.
  4. Nice. Maybe it's just because I'm a big fat guy, but with a proper holster it appears I could pocket carry this thing.
  5. I've always liked the way the 3" SP101 looked and felt better than it's more common shorter barreled brethren. I finally gave in and picked one up at the most recent Fairgrounds show. I haven't had time to take this one to the range, just put a set of Hogue grips on, as I like the way they feel better than the stock Ruger grips.

    Snake!

Corn snakes are harmless. They're great for keeping the rodent population down around your household.
  7. Yep. So Switzerland is now making a copy of the CZ-97? I'm sure it's nice, but why not just get the original?
  8. He's not a pastor, nor a preacher. If he refused to state a position on a political issue, that I could see complaining about.
  9. Really? So my general refusal to discuss my religious beliefs makes me anti-religion? Wow, I guess I learned something new today.
  10. My point is that people handle their beliefs differently. Just because someone doesn't choose to proclaim their beliefs and pray in public doesn't mean they don't have those beliefs. I disagree with the man on many issues, but choosing to keep your religious beliefs and practices a personal and private thing are not something I will criticize anyone for.
  11. Gee, I think I may have read something about this somewhere. Matthew 6:5-8 5 "And whenever you pray, do not be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, so that they may be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward. 6 But whenever you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you. 7 "When you are praying, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
  12. Let's see. On the selling end it's an excuse to sell lots of booze and party supplies. On the buying end it's an excuse to drink and party. Yeah, good luck with that. It's not an ethnic thing. (and even if it was: so what?) It's purely a monetary thing. People like an excuse to party.
  13. Cinco de Mayo is hardly even noticed and barely qualifies as a holiday in Mexico. It's been artificially blown up out of proportion in this country by people trying to *gasp* sell you something.
  14. You could argue that this is a conspiracy, but a more likely argument is that areas that are heavily republican tend to be more affluent, and therefore more likely to appreciate in value at a higher rate.
  15. Parking was free. Alas, the 3" SP101 I picked up wasn't.
  16. That seems to be my problem as well. I can't connect from my office pc, but I can remote into my home machine (as I am now) and connect with no issues. Ah well.
  17. That hasn't been my experience. I bought a Hi Point on a whim. It's not going to replace my SIG or my Hi Power, but the damned thing has gone bang every single time and has been fairly accurate to boot.
  18. Yep. I'm in a 25 man Ulduar raid in WoW right now.
  19. The prices on ammo at the gun show today were just damned silly. All I want is some cheap(ish) bulk .22lr.
  20. It's all relative though. $200-$225 is a lot less money to me in 2009 than $100 was in 1983. Or 1993, for that matter.
  21. Sounds like it's time for a Firing Range Date. Although with the price of ammo these days it's "Would you like a lobster dinner or a box of .380 for your P232?"
  22. You can't go wrong with a Ruger 22/45 or Browning Buckmark.
  23. They have a large number repealed, simply because they hear so many cases, but their percentages are not out of line with any other circuit.
  24. .380 is insane right now. It's another reason I have (at least for now) shelved the idea of buying an LCP or P3AT and instead I'm looking at the PF9 and waiting for Taurus new Slim 9 to come out.
  25. That's not mine in the picture. I grabbed that pic off gunbroker as an example. Mine is of the same vintage with the same grips. I only have 2 mags - a 7 round factory mag and an 8 round ACT mag that's been 100% reliable. No box, no papers. It's no big deal. I'm not in a rush as I don't need to sell it, but I never take it out anymore. I thought I could sell it and put the cash towards a nice S&W model 18. Granted, I'll probably hate myself for selling it one day.
