  1. If you want to try putting a few rounds through a Kahr PM9 send me a PM and we can meet up at local range.
  2. At the last Smyrna show in the old Wal Mart I was told they wouldn't be back there because the building has been leased. As of today the RK web site still lists a show there this weekend. Anybody know what (if anything) is going on?
  3. I've most often seen it in older Buddhist symbols.
  4. Their prices are ok depending on what you're looking for. Just like most retailers they have a stupidly usurious markup on cables. "Hmmm. $81 for their HDMI cable, or I can go over here and buy a cable that will function every bit as well for $4. Or if you insist on the deluxe version, $10.
  5. Yes, you are. Wages paid to local workers all throughout the manufacture and sale process feed back into our economy. The profit on individual vehicles isn't that large. It's well worth the trade.
  6. If I'm reading that correctly then the clunker program will have paid for itself in three and a half years. Everything after that is gravy. An ROI of 3 years isn't bad, actually.
  7. Nope. Google is your friend.
  8. Congrats. Still waiting on mine to arrive. Not that I can carry at work anyway.
  9. Jon Stewart at The Daily Show has a really good take on this. He goes for the joke, but he also points out how embarrassed the real journalists should be that they were scooped by a couple of kids. He said "Hell, I'm a fake journalist and I'm embarrassed." Go watch it. It's worth a laugh at least: Video: The Audacity of Hos | The Daily Show | Comedy Central
  10. I can't wait for the day that I can buy a single device to replace my cell phone and the 80GB ipod classic (half full right now, all music - I have a lot of CD's) with all the smartphone goodies. Ah well. My sprint phone isn't due for an upgrade for at least another year. We'll see how the whole iphone / pre / android / whatever market looks then.
  11. Glad to hear all is well.
  12. Stupid zero-tolerance rules in our school systems. If there's a fight all parties involved are suspended.
  13. The police chief who initially said it was racially motivated is now backing off from that statement.
  14. Aw c'mon, nobody wants to mention his classic role in, To Wong Foo Thanks For Everything Julie Newmar ??

Hmm. I added myself yesterday and today I'm gone. I see someone else in Lavergne. So I re-add myself. Now I'm showing up for 37086 but nobody else is. Weird.
  16. My carbine eats WWB 9mm with no complaints.
  17. My early 90's vintage P220 has a metal guide rod.
  18. Specialty Arms in Lavergne does do layaway. Last I checked you have to put 20% down and the monthly service charge is 2% of the outstanding balance with no time limit on payoff.

    The IT Crowd

They caught me on tape? I keep meaning to check that one out.
  20. You are mistaken. It is more difficult to own a handgun in Massachusetts than in Tennessee, but it is not illegal. "Bush is going to raise the terror alert level and 'postpone' the elections because of a national emergency." "Clinton is going to create some fake national emergency and cancel the elections." The names change, but the tin foil song stays the same.
  21. Lunch was a crunchy shrimp roll and a spicy salmon roll from Sam's Sushi. Damn that's good. The wasabi keeps my sinuses cleared out.
  22. Oh, no doubt. The only thing I could see replacing this would be the same gun with the metal frame.
  23. She had some interesting ideas. Unfortunately she's virtually unreadable.
  24. I picked up my PM9 on Saturday and took it to the range on Sunday afternoon. The manual specifies a 200 round break-in, but I put 268 rounds of WWB 9mm through it without so much as a hiccup. I expected a lot more recoil in a gun this small and light, but that was not the case. It was very controllable, light recoil. I'm not getting rid of my J-frame, but the Kahr is now a contender for primary carry.
  25. No doubt. I did a "new posts" check, saw that name and thought "Wow, the TGO database must be really screwed up this morning ...
