Nah. I'm probably going to sell my P220 as it is. Not because I don't like it, but because I almost never shoot it.

Very nice. If it turns out you shoot the Cougar better, then I'd sell the SIG and spend the proceeds on accessories and ammo for the Cougar.
  4. I have 1 each loaded in all 5 chambers, the way it was intended.
  5. Here's a quick rundown of the pistols mentioned in this thread. It's not the prettiest as I did a quick cut & paste for the raw #'s at the bottom, and didn't clean it up as much as I could. Size: The Kel Tecs (PF9, then P11) are the smallest of the bunch, then the Bersa, with the CZ being the largest. Trigger: Not having fired them, but based on reviews and such, I'd have to rank them as :CZ, Bersa, PF9, P11. Price: The Kel Tecs will come in cheapest most places, followed by the Bersa, with CZ being the most expensive, and deservedly so. Quality: Overall, CZ would win, hands down. I've rarely heard anything bad said about Bersa pistols. By all accounts, Kel Tec products are a crap shoot. If you get a good one you're golden. If not, be prepared to ship it back and forth to Kel Tec and take advantage of their (reportedly quite good) warranty service. If I were looking for a pocket pistol I'd get the PF9 or the P11. If I were going for IWB, I'd get the Bersa, or the CZ if I had the cash. Ideally you should see if you can arrange to fire a P11 and a Bersa. 6. To be fair, that Glock was probably made in Georgia.
  7. I've never had a problem with Asus products.
  8. The Droid grabbed my interest, but I've got way too long left on my Sprint contract. I picked up a Palm Pre and I'm liking it. When my contract is up in 2011 I'll have to reassess the phone market then.
  9. I've been using pontificating as a regular part of my vocabulary for years. Are you telling me that it's suddenly a trendy word? Damn.
  10. I'm used to it by now. It was the juxtaposition of him commenting about everyone learning how to safely handle a gun while sweeping the room that made it noteworthy to me.
  11. Yesterday afternoon I visited a gun shop I hadn't made it to in the past. I won't say which, since they're a vendor on this site and it's nothing I haven't seen at most other stores anyway. So anyway, the clerk behind the counter is pontificating to 3 guys in front of him, showing them a pistol. As he explains that everyone should learn the basics of how to handle a gun safely, he goes to put the pistol back in the display case. As he does so he proceeds to sweep the room, including me. I wasn't sure whether to laugh or cringe.
  12. I'm trying to think of a politician to whom this statement wouldn't apply. ... ... ... Nope. I got nothing.
  13. I have no idea why I'm fat. I spend my days in a tiny office off of a room full of servers, and I like food. Can't imagine why that would make me fat.

    PM9 Thoughts?

That might explain why I had no problems. I bought mine used, so presumably the initial problems with loosening the pin are gone. Personally, I have no problem removing mine with my fingers..
  15. The Mustang is, afaik, just a scaled down 1911 in .380. I wouldn't think patent rights would apply there either.

    ak-47?

Underfold, no. The sidefolder stocks can generally be swapped out for standard wood stocks, but the underfolders use a different mount. Generally the underfolders go for a lot more $ anyway.
  17. The design of the 1911 is old enough that all patents have long expired. Anyone can make a 1911 pattern pistol, no permission required.

    ak-47?

To hear some comments I must be the only guy who has both a Century WASR and an older Century SAR-1 and never had any problems out of them. Odd that.

Thank you so very much for "allowing" this, oh benevolent one.

    PM9 Thoughts?

I've got a PM9 and agree with everything OhShoot said with the possible exception of this. I heard some people say takedown was a pain, so I carefully read the instructions, watched a couple of Youtube videos of people field stripping Kahr pistols, and had very little trouble.

Well ... yeah. Any religious faith and judgement of which one is "better" is just an opinion, pretty much by definition.
  22. MagLites are great. I have several, and a 2-D model sits on my nightstand at all times. In a pinch I'm sure it would make a dandy club, but first I'll reach for the .357 that sits next to it while I sleep. (it goes back in the safe or is holstered on my person when I'm awake)
  23. Aaaaaaand I guess not this time. My Saturday is completely spoken for from 8AM until late that evening. Sunday isn't looking good right now either. I'll see about the next one.
  24. I will grant that I only have one example to go on, my PM9, but this hasn't been my experience. They're not as easy to field strip as some guns, but I followed the instructions, watched someone else field strip one on Youtube, and then did it myself. As for finicky, mine has failed to chamber a round twice in several hundred rounds. In both cases the cause was the same: I hadn't seated the magazine firmly enough when reloading. That's not the gun, that's me.
  25. It could be that the ammo in question had hard primers. That's one reason you fire as much of your carry ammo as you can afford when testing it. Different guns like different ammo. You want something that's as reliable as possible in your specific gun. It could also just mean that it needed cleaning. Airweight J-frames are very difficult to shoot well. I own one myself and my Kahr PM9 is MUCH easier to shoot well than my S&W 638. I recently acquired a S&W 649 (same gun, stainless steel and will chamber .357 magnum as well) and I'm hoping it's a bit easier to handle.
