  1. We saw it today. Fun movie. They inserted a whole bunch of stuff that wasn't in the book, but entertaining either way.
  2.   Privilege.  Root words Privi and Lege.  Modern translation: Private Law.  Those with wealth and power answer to a different law than the lower classes.
  3. You're the first negative review I've seen of this movie.  It sounds like it's an actual Disney movie in the vein of Beauty & The Beast etc... instead of Pixar, which is owned by Disney but is a separate division.
  4. Here's an earlier story with much more in depth information, including way more about the original guy who started this whole thing off, the South African guy they barely mention in the video.   http://www.npr.org/blogs/health/2013/06/18/191279201/3-d-printer-brings-dexterity-to-children-with-no-fingers   Edited to add:  Thanks for the video. I'd read the article I just posted and seen pictures, but I hadn't seen the hand in action.
  5. Information noted.  I can't access FB from where I'm at right now, but I'll share it as soon as I can.  Praying for her safe return.
  6. This would be the same Reagan who would signed FOPA, supported the Brady Bill and defended the GCA of 1968, right?  Going back further he signed the Mulford Act as governor of California in 1967.  These days he'd get lumped in with Lamarr Alexander and John McCain on the gun rights issue.
  7. A friend of mine used to teach ballroom dancing as a sideline.  We gave him crap about it, but he just pointed out that he was a straight guy dancing with lots of ladies.  It certainly didn't hurt his social life.
  8. The 10 round mag is annoying but understandable.  I'm betting it was a requirement for import purposes.  But they could have made it for one of their existing magazine styles for like the 24/7 and neutered the mag that came with it.  Then with a wink and a nod we could all put higher cap mags in place.  The weight, the balance and the crappy sights though - that's just silly.  For that much weight I'd rather have a Ruger PC9.   I'll stick with my Hi Point carbine for now.
  9. It's kind of fascinating to watch how both sides have magically flip flopped on this issue.  Back in 2005 it was Republicans screaming about the need to do away with the 60 vote supermajority to end a filibuster and go to a simple majority vote.  Back then it was the Democrats saying how horrible that would be and it would rape the constitution.  Here's articles from that time from both the left and the right:   http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/politics/jan-june05/judges_4-18.html   http://www.weeklystandard.com/Content/Public/Articles/000/000/005/551vzoao.asp
  10.   It's easy to be opposed to something you can't legally own anymore due to your past felony stupidity.
  11. Ah.  That would explain why I don't know the name.
  12. Am I supposed to know who this guy is?
  13. Based on what I read here I'll pass.  I'm not a Taurus basher, I've owned several and didn't have any lemons, but they really screwed this one up.   http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2013/11/08/taurus-ct9-carbine-review/
  14. So why are people still commenting on this as if it were real?  Fake story people.  Satire if you must.

    The "Get Home" Gun

Long gun trumps handgun, it's true.  But you're not on some offensive mission.  Your goal is to hike to safety.  Weight is a big deal in that situation.  Also remaining inconspicuous,  The handgun comes out ahead on both of those fronts.  Even a big handgun is easier to conceal if needed.

    The "Get Home" Gun

This would be a good argument for a Keltec SU16C.    Honestly, I'd probably just carry a full sized .357 revolver (GP100 etc..) and use the saved weight for some extra ammo.
  17. So those of you more familiar with this sort of thing, any idea why I just found a skull?  No other bones at all.
  18. I just confirmed with TWRA that being bare & stripped as it was it's free for the taking. If it was fresh it may have required a salvage tag? I'm not a hunter so I'm not familiar with all the regs. Here's a couple of pics of what I found. The top is what I looked down and saw as we were hiking through the woods.
  19. Thanks for all the info guys. Much appreciated.
  20. I did some looking online. Couldn't find diddly on the TWRA site. Apparently there are rules in Kentucky and Missouri. Just want to be sure. Looks to have been there long enough there's no flesh of any sort left. Cleaned up it would make a neat Halloween decoration. I'll call TWRA tomorrow just to be sure.
  21. If someone were hiking in the woods and found a deer skull with antlers still attached just laying in the brush, are their any laws/regulations against taking it home?
  22. You might want to let her handle the 590A1.  I have one I'm probably going to sell because it's just too long and heavy for my wife to handle.  I'm looking at picking up a Mossberg Bantam or Super Bantam in 20GA so I'll have something she can use.   The big disadvantage to 20 over 12 is ammo.  There's a huge variety of 12ga ammo out there, not so much in 20.  And yes, there is an argument to be made that reduced recoil 12 is no worse than 20, but if at all possible you should try firing both and see what you think.
  23. Probably one of these: http://www.impactguns.com/gsg-ak47-22lr-165-10-blk-gerg2210ak47-813393010156.aspx
  24. I had to flag that for Best Of Craigslist just for the Dickensian orphan reference.
  25.   For those of us who don't have the time to go digging right now, could you link where this is in the bill?
