  1. Nice. It makes me (almost) regret selling the one I had. I have no idea what the problem was, but no matter how much I adjusted the sights I never could get it zeroed properly so I sold it to another guy who loved it. Maybe it just didn't fit me.
  2. Nothing wrong with a lever gun as an HD rifle. While my Marlin 1894C wouldn't be my first choice, it would serve me well if needed. .357 gains a lot of velocity from the longer barrel, and a good piece of wood and steel like that makes for a dandy club when you run out of ammo.
  3. At first I thought they might also be Mojo sights but from what I can see you're probably right.
  4. What are his #'s with people who believe in the Easter Bunny?
  5. From an emotional standpoint his reaction is understandable. From any other standpoint it was an overreaction and he deserves to be convicted of assault and child abuse. If you can't keep your emotions under control you have no business carrying a gun around with you anyway.
  6. It's not like they need any help in that area.
  7. Just checked and saw this. AT&T DSL.

  9. Same thing I carry every day Pinky, a S&W 649.
  10. I built my AR 10 years ago. The very first time I took it to the range and chambered a round it got stuck and I had to use the FA. In the years since then I've never had to use it. Odds are you won't need it, so go with whichever you like more.
  11. Having posted in this thread I am offended at your taking offense. And for the record, I am not a panzy. I've always been partial to begonias myself.
  12. The gun I enjoy shooting the most is my Browning Hi Power. My most *useful* gun is the one that is almost always on me: S&W 649.

    Lightweight AR

Unless you placed your order during the post-election "OMFG, teh Obama is gonna take all our guns!!!" freakout. It took them 8 freaking months to fill my order because of that crap. Your choice during that time was either pay stupidly inflated prices at a gun show or place an order with someone like Model1 and wait until they could get the parts. I was already planning to place that order when things went nuts, so I was less than pleased at the idiocy. (not on Model1's part, the twits who were buying everything in sight)

    Lightweight AR

I have that exact upper (A3 and railed gas block in my case). It's very light and I've had no trouble out of it. I kept my old BCG and charging handle and tucked my old 20" A2 HB upper in the back of the safe.

    16" vs 18" vs 20"

True, but if you're going to make it effectively 16", why would you go with a muzzle device? Get a real 16" barrel with threading all the way out to the end.
  18. I alternate between a Kahr PM9 and a S&W 649, with the little .357 seeing the most pocket time. I find either equally concealable size wise, with the PM9 being less obviously only because it drags the pocket down less.
  19. I don't do bumper stickers, but that one is tempting. (and for the record, I'm from TN, lived here most my entire life, my parents met in the town where I currently live, and the only reason I wasn't born here is because my parents were stationed at an AFB in CA at the time)
  20. Oddly enough I remember hearing this in 10 years ago. And 10 years before that ...

    Cicadas

I've got plenty of them here in Smyrna. I find the sound oddly soothing.
  22. I went to my stepdaughter's high school graduation, and then hosted a big family cookout. And now I'm watching for raptors. It was something about raptors, right?
  23. I regularly have to clean this crap off the PC's of relatives and friends. Each one is a slightly more obnoxious than the previous iteration.
