  1. Glad you got it taken care of.
  2. You can, but I'm not sure I'd ever want to be cross examined and asked by a prosecutor exactly why I disabled a "safety" feature on a firearm I used in an SD shooting.
  3. This thread is worth it just to learn about Countycomm. Very cool. Thanks for posting.
  4. You could just as easily be talking about our .gov during WWII. Just ask descendent of Japanese immigrants whose family had their homes, property and businesses confiscated and then they were put in internment camps. (But that was The Greatest Generation, so it's okay.)
  5. I wonder if Paypal will amend their rules to allow firearms related purchases now? Or will it be restricted purely to eBay auctions?
  6. I've owned one. For what it was it functioned quite nicely. One thing to keep in mind: the DA trigger is going to be long and stiff, and there isn't really anything that can be done about it. SA is fine though.
  7. Very nice. Congratulations on your new toy.
  8. Welcome from a fellow Rutherford resident (Smyrna in my case). I haven't lived here my whole life, but I've been here since you were 2.
  9. Just chalk it up to Stuff Happens and bank the Husband Points for handling this without getting angry at her.
  10. It's the same SP101 frame we've been seeing for some time now. It looks a bit different with a 4.20" barrel is all. Word is they went with that length to allow it to be sold in Canada without having to do a special run just for that market.
  11. They're awfully nice looking. If I didn't already have an old S&W 63 I'd be sorely tempted to pick one up. Okay, who am I kidding? I still want one. I just can't justify it.
  12. He had no malicious intent. That's why he's being charged with Reckless Endangerment. I hope he can get it plead down to a misdemeanor, because honestly his RKBA is the least of his problems if he gets a felony conviction. Try getting a good job with one of those.
  13. Fair enough. And I'd be fine with him having the charges plead down to a misdemeanor of some sort.
  14. Random pixels have been replaced with crystal meth.
  15. I'd hate to have a hang fire in one barrel. Could lead to something bad.
  16. The way it reads, I'd have to seriously consider charging him. If I'm reading it correctly he fired a shotgun into a door without knowing who or what was on the other side. Options other than shooting blindly into a door: 1) Pound on the door and yell that the police have been called. 2) Bust the door open and go in yourself if you're so sure you're right. (Yes, I know it's not as easy as TV and movies make it look, but it's also not that hard) I'm as much of a gun guy as anyone, but that doesn't mean a gun is always the correct tool. Fortunately everyone came out ok, and I suspect he won't be charged because he was lucky enough to be right. What happens when some guy shoots a door open only to find out his neighbors were just engaging in some loud rough sex?
  17. I see the grips and three prong flash hiders on gunbroker right now. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=276873048 http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=277170543
  18. I've had that happen. Fortunately it's in a good pocket holster, so nothing ever happens other than me getting annoyed.

    what is the deal

Another topic that comes under my rule of "I can't control how other people act, only how I act." Be polite. Help others when you can. Give others the benefit of the doubt. You may or may not be rewarded with anything other than the knowledge that you do the right thing.
  20. And what would "that" be?
  21. In the comics the dad shows up again, but his son has been zombified.
  22. Given the restrictions listed by w0lfattack, I'd say it doesn't much matter.

    Win a Barrett

Thanks for linking this. I honestly don't know what I'd do with a Barrett (other than shoot it 'cause it's cool), but it's a good cause.
  24. That sounds like lunch yesterday. Today was a spicy salmon roll and a crunchy shrimp roll + a diet pepsi.
  25. He had story plans, including one that would have shown Scudder's rise to power. Heinlein never wrote them because he found the subject to be too depressing.
