Big brown came by today and dropped off 500 rounds of Ranger T. It is pretty sweet looking. I hope to head out to the range tomorrow to run it through the guns I keep chambered for 357 and see how it does. Ammo to Go had a pretty decent price on it. I'm splitting the case with a buddy so the price wasn't too bad. I hope to start reloading 357 this weekend. Hopefully soon I will be able to shoot it more than I do now without going broke... Mark Edit: good grief who taught me how to spell...

DO WANT: Army Begins Shipping Improved 5.56mm Cartridge
Mark A replied to G27's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Why can't the army use the new round for training purposes and the SOST round for combat? Seems like the best overall answer to me. Mark -
I fired up all of the Critical Defense ammo today
Mark A replied to Links2k's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I've fired the 9mm in a couple of Glocks and about 5 different sigs. Not too sure why anyone hates this ammo. I like it for my shorter barreled pistols; mainly during the winter time. I fully drink the cool aid about it penetrating better through heavy clothing. Mark -
Why Pocket Carry Might Not Be the Way You Want to Carry...VIDEO

Hmmm... I have the exact opposite problem. I'm so freakin round these days I can't wear inside the waist w/o printing. I like it when winter is here & I can wear sweaters.... -
Why Pocket Carry Might Not Be the Way You Want to Carry...VIDEO

Well, good for her. I think if I worked there I might be sporting OWB... Unfortunately I have to stay pretty deeply concealed with my job so it is typically an ankle holster or a smart carry. Neither is very fast to deploy Mark -
Hey Red, how was the class? Did your son have a good time?

I really like the dillon dvd for helping to get the press set up. It was helpful to watch him actually load some ammo... Mark -
Calling all TGO Hams (Amateur Radio Operators)...
Mark A replied to TGO David's topic in General Chat
I wish I'd known about field day. There were some participants at the park next to my subdivision. I didn't know they were there until the end of the day on Sunday. Did anyone participate at the location in Williamson county at Carnton House? Mark -
MSA sordins, but only outdoors. Indoors I wear hard protection and usually also wear ear plugs. Electronic ones are great for training classes. I also like to wear them when hunting.

I really like mine. It is rather easy to put your cheek in the wrong place but a little practice takes care of that. Mark -
A Newbie and his Newbie wife first outing SHOOTING experience
Mark A replied to RobertY's topic in General Chat
Yes you can (and in my opinion should) get a 22 to start with. When I have a brand new nervous shooter I always start them on a) a .22 and outdoors unless that is not feasible. The .22 is a great gun to develop good habits on and shooting outdoors is usually quieter than shooting inside a concrete box. One thing to consider is what type of larger caliber you might work up to. Once you find a 9mm (or whatever caliber you like) pistol that you like see if there is a .22 version of it. For many of the pistols out today you can get a .22 version that has the same manual of arms so that your practice time is as valuable as possible. Later, after you have a bit more experience each of you can branch out and try different things. That's just my opinion but it has worked pretty well for a lot of new shooters. Mark -
KEH is a great company but you will get a much lower amount than if you sell it yourself. Fred Miranda.com has a good buy/sell board. There are also a couple of camera specific boards (nikon cafe.com) that will be a good resource. Another good board is Digital camera photo galleries, gallery database, info and forums I kind of got sucked up in the pro body thing for a while. Back in my first round of camera buying getting top end bodies was the thing to do. Now it is much better to buy the best glass and just understand that like computers a digital camera body is going to tank in about a year as the newer models come out... If you tend to drive cameras hard or at the edge of the envelope there is nothing that compares to a nice high end pro model. Mark

Well I just upgraded and have to play with the new stuff for a bit. I do admit though I'm unhappy it appears to have cleaned out my inbox. I had several e-mails I wanted to keep on there. I guess it is possible they are just hiding so I will head off now to look for them... Mark

I think in the last 3 or 4 days the number now unaccounted for has dropped to 10. Still unacceptable... -

Well, I finally had a chance to shoot this thing. I absolutely love it. When I decided to get a sub-compact glock this is what I wanted but I had several friends tell me to get the 26 instead. I really like the 26 but this is my favorite chambering. It shoots really well, didn't kick nearly as bad as I was afraid it would and it was very accurate. I just wish I liked the compact and full size Glock's as well. Eventually I will have a chance to try a gen 4 version to see if the grip is any different... Mark

My 228. It's been driving tacks for 16 years. And... my dads ppk in .32 from the mid 60's. If he ever freakin gives it to me...

I have a couple of 226's (9 & 40) and a couple of 229's (9&40). Although my hands are a bit small once I got used to the 226 it became my main handgun for range and training. It is also what I keep at the bedside. Whichever you get pick up a 357 sig barrel for extra fun. Mark PS, this tapatalk thing works pretty well. Took me a second to realize that it kept logging me off if I went to the main screen but now that I've figured that out I'm good to go.

10-4. I think I read this somewhere but I'm too lazy to go look. If we are member then there is no cost correct? Or, does the $5 go to the forum in which case I'm cool with that.

Glock 27 - Uncomfortable to carry
Mark A replied to lunarpowered's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
The supertuck is a nice holster. When I carry IWB I use a MTAC. It has a leather sleeve that sticks up but I still wear an undershirt as it make it much more comfortable. For ankle carry please look at the Galco Ankle Glove (?) I think that is what it is called. It is very comfortable and I really like the retaining strap. I added the calf sleeve strap and you can literally sprint and everything stays in place. A little pricey but I wear it every day so it was worth it for comfort. Mark
