Howdy neighbors! Second go around Clarksvillian here. Lived here 15 years ago and recently moved back. I live out in Sango, but work in Cumberland City. I think lunch next Saturday would be a good place to start. Hooters? I opened a post in the EVENTS AND GATHERINGS forum. Let us know if you can make it to lunch, the range or both. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/events-gatherings/21734-may-30th-clarksville-lunch-shoot.html

When threaten; Judge says at least point your gun
whiskey replied to threeshot's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
This goes back to the old adage... If you are going to pull it, you better be ready to use it. I have always told my wife not to pull her gun out to scare someone off. I tell her to keep it concealed, hand of the gun, until it is time to defend your life. Cases like this are they very reason I teach her this. He should get a better lawyer and appeal. The fact remains that he was in his car and instead of leaving, he pulled out his gun to scare a guy off that he had been arguing with. Of course I am not aware of the full situation and he may have done the best thing. -
ROTFL I have been down the Hiwassee River many times. I learned to whitewater canoe there. Kayaking is a lot of fun, but too much work for me now that I am older. Funyaks at the Hiwassee is great fun and no rolling required. I have taken kids as young as 6 down this river with good results. The Ocoee is another story...

Credit Card Bill Forces Dems to Take Vote on Gun Rights
whiskey replied to mcurrier's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
National Forests almost always follow state hunting laws. Almost all states have some animal in season year round. Here in TN you can hunt coyote with a pistol. Just wear your camo t-shirt and carry a varmint call and OPEN carry. -
I made my wife call about her permit today. It has been about 40 days and she was "approved on the phone" like the rest of us. If they can complete the process that quickly once all the checks are received, why do they let a backlog build up? Oh wait, I know... Government!

Is there already a running list of KNOWN pro-gun and anti-gun businesses in the state? I think it would be nice to sticky a post so members could pass along business that were posted and business that support our gun rights.

Just to share... I took my CHP class with about 30 bank employees, AT THE BANK! They have held 2 more full classes since the first was such a success. If you live in Clarksville, you should bank at First Federal Savings bank. They are on our side.

So if the long gun bill passes...

I would be happy being able to keep a loaded magazine in my .22mag in the backseat of my truck. NO, NOT FOR POACHING! -

I wish somebody would enlighten Mr. Howdy Doody (through great physical pain) -
I am betting slide release or the spring for it. Unless the mag is really worn or broken.

This is the best time to eat them. You can get out and get young squirrels that are tender. I am taking my 10 year old to get her some gun time before next deer season. She loves squirrel hunting cause I don't make her get up so early.

OK has anyone tried Thunderwear. NO Really
whiskey replied to a topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Just tuck a snubby up under one boob. That's how Granny always did it. I think the smart carry is beer belly friendly. Just don't wear it center mass. Slide it off to one side or the other. You could always wear some pantyhose under your jeans to help keep it in place. -
Great American Gun and Knife show in Clarksville
whiskey replied to lowbud's topic in Events and Gatherings
Kinda glad I missed it. I figured it would be small and crowded. -

I have tried the smart carry. I do not like it as well as the active belly band holster. Either is a good thing to have on hand, but alot of folks find them uncomfortable. -
PM9 is on my short list. Glad to hear you like yours.

I missed a huge old gobbler this morning. 3 longbeards came in on a string to our decoy. I had a steady shot at 35 yards and just blew it. I have no idea which way I missed but the gobbler was uninjured best I could tell as he ran clear to the next county. Only thing I found on the ground was 1 turkey ear. I must have shot it clear off his head. I will tell you that it sure sucks to miss a big bird for no good reason. It sucks more when an hour later you are working in another bird and fall off your stool backwards as you reach for a call on the ground behind you. Spooked the bird and didn't see another feather all day. I should have stayed in bed this morning.

Well I had decided to not call and just wait to see how long it would take since I have an active FL CCW permit. It has been 60 days, so I got impatient and called today. Glad I did. She told me that everything was back and that I had been approved and it was just waiting processing which she did and I was told the 7-14 story.

I forgot to add that I do the same above recipe but I do it in bite size chunks. I slice the tenderloin and soak it in the soy and sugar. Then I roll it and put 1/2 a piece of bacon on it and put several of these on a metal skewer. They make great appetizers. Be careful not to over cook.
