I don't know about most, but the two county deputies and one city officer I am going hog hunting with in Rosewood, FL next week do not interpret it this way. The statute is pretty clear on ccw go and no go establishments. Basically it states, and I am paraphrasing from the below statute "a PORTION of an establishment PRIMARILY DEVOTED to the dispense alcohol" Just don't sit in the bar. Statutes & Constitution :View Statutes : flsenate.gov "(12) No license issued pursuant to this section shall authorize any person to carry a concealed weapon or firearm into any place of nuisance as defined in s. 823.05; any police, sheriff, or highway patrol station; any detention facility, prison, or jail; any courthouse; any courtroom, except that nothing in this section would preclude a judge from carrying a concealed weapon or determining who will carry a concealed weapon in his or her courtroom; any polling place; any meeting of the governing body of a county, public school district, municipality, or special district; any meeting of the Legislature or a committee thereof; any school, college, or professional athletic event not related to firearms; any school administration building; any portion of an establishment licensed to dispense alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises, which portion of the establishment is primarily devoted to such purpose; any elementary or secondary school facility; any career center; any college or university facility unless the licensee is a registered student, employee, or faculty member of such college or university and the weapon is a stun gun or nonlethal electric weapon or device designed solely for defensive purposes and the weapon does not fire a dart or projectile; inside the passenger terminal and sterile area of any airport, provided that no person shall be prohibited from carrying any legal firearm into the terminal, which firearm is encased for shipment for purposes of checking such firearm as baggage to be lawfully transported on any aircraft; or any place where the carrying of firearms is prohibited by federal law. Any person who willfully violates any provision of this subsection commits a misdemeanor of the second degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083."

I lived in Florida for 7 years. I had a CCW permit the entire time. While I was exempt from having to take the ccw class, I sat through it anyway. As we all know, the class is only as good as the instructor. However, the answer to your question, when I attended the class, was that there was no law preventing you from having a drink while CCW. In Florida, CCW is not limited to a pistol either. Like stated before, don't sit in the bar area at Outback or Olive Garden. Don't sit at the bar at Hooters. Don't go into a bar that allows smoking. You can go into a bar-looking joint, if they are non-smoking and you sit at a table and they sell food. Generally in Florida a real Bar allows smoking because they do not earn 51 percent of their income from food. Another good thing is, if you do remove your gun, you can just place it in the glove box and go about your business. Florida also has a "you don't have to retreat" law.

SP101 if you want to shoot .357mags. I don't like shooting very light revolvers with .357's, so the SP101 gets my vote. For me it is too heavy for pocket carry though. I use a Taurus CHULT in .38 for pocket carry.

Hindsight is always 20/20, but this probably would have been my approach.

I don't believe Alabama allows open carry, so you better cover it up. I can guarantee the owner is gun friendly. He's my dad.

I am happy I am an NRA member. They have their pros and cons, but they do serve us. I wish this would stay in the media for once. -
Well I hope ya'll make it down. It's only about 3 1/2 hours south of Nashville.

whiskey replied to whiskey's topic in Events and Gatherings
Well we had a good lunch and shoot. It was great to meet you guys. Next time we will have to head out to Montgomery County range so we have some more room. My daughter was wearing out those 1" orange dots with her Crickett. She and I may go squirrel hunting in the morning. Oh, and I ordered a new gun when we finished shooting. I got CZ P-01 on the way. Woohoo! -

There was an article in the local paper stating Clarksville will keep city and county parks off limits to law abiding legal CHP holders. -

Sounds good. I have some ammo that doesn't fit anything I own. I plan to bring it and hopefully it will fit something that somebody owns. It has been sitting around dusty long enough. I will wear a hat:tinfoil: -
Twice a year I head to North Alabama to Foggy Hollow Bluegrass Festival. It is a great time and a family friendly environment. (this means you have to pour your beer in a cup and the police will arrest you if you show your a$$) If anyone can make it down, please look me up. I'll be the guy smoking ribs behind the lake next to the stage. Seriously, pm me if you can make it. Foggy Hollow Bluegrass Gatherin'

3pugguy, Me and you are having lunch at Hooters at 11:30am on Saturday. I hope I can find some ammo between now and then, otherwise I will be shooting .22's if we go to Hal's. I live in Sango so Custom Gunsmiting is about 10 mins from me too. Who else is joining us? -

Would anyone be interested in going to Custom Gunsmithing's range if the MCSC is closed? Their range is small and nothing fancy, but it is a place to shoot and is about 15 miles from Hooters. It's an option. DWARREN, Yeah, only one Hooters, the one on Riverside next to Harbor Freight. -
Sweet looking pistols. I am looking to buy a CZ soon. Besides the accessory rail, what is the difference between the 75D PCR and the P-01?
