I believe that sight that fit the SR9 will also fit the SR9C. I believe Meprolight, XS sights and LaserLyte all have sights for them now.
  2. Saw one last week, just a quick glance, but long enough to see that his velvet was already well outside his hears. I am hoping that passing on him last year pays off this year. Now if I can just keep the inbreed rednecks from shooting him from the road before bow season...

Ordered a Fobus for mine yesterday. I have a Galco Stow-n-go for it already. Thinking about trying a Don Hume H715 too.
  4. Could have sworn I posted here before.... Anyway, I have pretty much a whole new set up this year. New DXT, new limbsaver sight, new QAD HD rest. Still shooting the same arrows and heads, Beaman ICS Hunters with Wasp JakHammer SST heads.
  5. The mount looks great WD-40.

Not yet, but will watch for it. Did you remove your pins during disassembly? I have only field stripped mine. Just wondering if taking them out makes them prone to shooting loose.
  7. Great, now I have another gun on my list... Let us know how you like it.

I saw one at the Outpost Armory on Saturday. I stopped in there to get a holster for my SR9C and used their gun to test fit a couple holsters. They had it marked at 459.00, a little higher than I had seen at other places, but atleast they have one. BTW, if you get one, check out holster that fit Glock 26 and H&K USP Compact 9/40. I shot mine for the first time this weekend. My buddy and I ran 100 round of WWB through it with zero malfunctions. It shot very well and recoil was very light compared to the Glock 26. I am very happy so far. I got another 100 round of blazer to run though it this week.
  9. I have had coyotes come in to my turkey decoys. I have been thinking about curing some turkey capes to make skins for my decoys. That is about as homemade as I could do.
  10. I have a old Mossberg 20ga pump that has a long fixed full choke barrel. The forearm wood broke and I bought a plastic forearm replacement. It's not a great looking gun and I really don't have a use for it. I took it in on trade and probably couldn't get 100.00 if I sold it. I was thinking about cutting the barrel off and putting either a folding stock or maybe just a pistol grip on it. I have heard that the pistol grips are pretty useless, but I am not using this as a entry weapon. It would be kept as home defense or maybe "tent" defense while camping. I really don't want to put a lot into it, but I am tired of seeing it sit unused in the safe with no plans for it. What should I do with it?
  11. I never ride to a stand. How far away I park depends on the stand site and the expected approach of the deer. As good a shape as you are in, you don't even need a 4wheeler. You just walk in 5 miles and throw the deer over your shoulder and walk the 5 miles out. Just give me that ATV and keep yourself in good shape.
  12. That is what I have always used, but you do run the risk of snagging your gun or bow on a limb. So long as you have clear riding areas, they work great, or if you have a beater gun that you don't care if it gets scratched or muddy.
  13. I tried using a bellyband years ago and it didn't work well for me. I just quit running. It's easier to carry a gun on a bicycle.
  14. I guess I can't kill them either. Well, atleast not this year. I will throw in one caveat, I passed on a few jakes and one immature gobbler this year. I did have fun this season. Saw lots of good birds and will have some huge birds to hunt next year.
  15. What model is it? I have ridden a Sportsman 500 quite a bit and know them pretty well. They are great rides. The auto tranny does need some rider attention. You need to make sure you adhere to the minimum speeds for high gear. I like the flat storage racks on the polaris bikes. I am not crazy about the gun boots. Lots of guys like them, but they get in the way when ridding 2 folks. If it's 4wd then you don't really need anything. A winch is nice, but I have never used one in all the riding I have done.
  16. Depending on the day, I might make it. I grew up in Franklin co. and my mother still lives there so we visit often.
  17. Get some Permanone! I sprayed my hunting clothes the night before each turkey hunt this spring and I have found ZERO ticks on me this year. My hunting partner just used deep woods Off and he got ticks on him every trip. I got covered in ticks last year because I was lazy about using the permanone. Never again. I don't want lyme disease
  18. I have seen 3 or 4 squirrels with them. All were opening weekends for fall seasons.
  19. I parboil them and then batter and fry them to brown. Then into the oven to finish up. Very good. Especially the young ones that you get in the spring.
  20. Sounds like time for my .22mag
  21. I have one rule when it comes to hunting clothing, no matter the weather or location. NO COTTON! Buy really good base and middle layers. I wear Bass Pro Shops Redhead EnduraSkin base layer. The stuff is pretty amazing. It has silver ion thread and never gets stinky. I have worn it 3 days in a row without washing and it retains no odor. I have several different brands of middle layers, but I like the Rocky thermals pretty good. Polartec middle layers are awesome too. The synthetic clothes pull moisture off your body and they dry quick. They are also lighter and warmer and will keep you warm enough to live when wet. I wear Walls 10X outerwear for windy or wet weather. It is like goretex but priced affordable. It works well. I hunted 7 days in northern Missouri last gun season and it rained all day every day. I was dry and comfortable under the 10X. Your goretex is fine as long as you wear the right stuff under it. I like rubber boots for deer hunting. I have the Lacrosse Alpha Burly's. Mine are not insulated, but you can get them with insulation. I have worn mine in the low 20's with good thick socks and my feet weren't toasty, but they didn't hurt from cold either. These are the only rubber boots I would recommend for walking. Whatever you do, take 2 or 3 pairs of boots with you. Your Tennessee hunting boots will work fine for stalking. My feet never get cold walking, just stand hunting. They can always serve as a back up pair incase your other boots are soaked with rain or sweat. Nothing worse than having to put on wet boots and walk out into a cold day of hunting. Good wool socks with a polypropylene sock liner. No blisters and comfortable feet all day. The sock liners are the key for me. Rocky makes some affordable wool blend hiking socks that Wal-mart carries during the winter. I have seen them at BPS too.
  22. I was hard on vehicles when I was young. Not sure about your driving habits, but I wouldn't swear off them just yet. I looked at an FJ a few months ago. I ended up getting a 4 door Tacoma cause I like to haul dead animals around. If you have a good deal on it, old or new, and know the owner then I wouldn't hesitate getting it.
  23. Florida has the 50% rule to define restaurants/bars. They use it for smoking though.
