quick question. can you re-humidify dried out cigars? Ive HEARD that you can, but have never had to try until now. I have had about 10 acid blondies in my humidor now for over a year, and have not been keeping the humidifier wet for just as long. Well I finally decided to get my humidor back in shape (partly because of this thread) and ordered a new crystal humidifier kit that will be here today. So are the blondies too far gone? or can they be brought back to life after a month or two in a properly humidified humidor?
I am not an expert, but they should reabsorb moisture slowly. May not be perfect, but probably smokable. This warm weather promoted a grill night, so thus: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Carter Hall as you mentioned, and also, it's pretty hard to beat Half & Half in a corncob pipe on an mild autumn day outdoors-- one of my favorite "bottom shelf" combinations.
I haven't tried half & half yet. I am putting that on my list. As for now, I am heading outside with cob full of Old Dark Fired. Now, where is that windscreen?
I think this one, was their on blend. They called it No.1.Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
Prince Albert and Carter Hall are easy smoking burley blends that don't generally bite your tongue, stay lit and smoke cool and dry. 5100 is a popular virginia blend, but I didn't like it till I learned to smoke slowly. MacBaren Navy Flake is a good starter as is plumcake. These are both Navy blends and have a light rum casing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Has anyone from TGO or know of someone who got an elk hunt in TN

I have put in for it the last few years. I don't expect to win, but since it's free, I do it anyway. -
Pipesmokerunlimited forum and Pipechat forum are the only two I would recommend. Some of the others have some real tumbleturds. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Check out the Cigar Club store in Madison. They were friendly and helpful to me when I started. As far as cigars, I like the Drew Estates Java too. I think that's the cigar I smoked the last few times I chose to smoke a cigar. As for pipes, see my advice a couple posts above. Google "corn cob pipe primer". That will give you plenty of good reading.
I'm not a smoker but always thought that pipe smoking looked like a relaxing hobby. Might be something to try. Nice looking pipes guys, I can see how acquiring pipes could be additive just like firearms.
Get a Missouri Meerschaum cob pipe and a box of Carter Hall and give it a go. You're only out about 12.00 if you don't like it. It does take a little patience and practice though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You basically have to use a blind or be lucky. It's just not realistic to draw on a turkey at 20 yards without a blind. Study up on shot placement. There are tons of photos on google showing where to aim. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Note to self: sybo grills tri-tips and carries a gun in the process. Be extra careful when stealing his tri tip.

Check the price at the co-op.

Give it to me, I'll put it on ebay! Just kidding, very nice of you.

If your wrinkled old butt is in Florida come spring, JG will have it planted under a live oak looking for turkeys.

Time to get those calls out, sight in those shotguns and prepare for the onslaught of ticks and chiggers. My favorite time of year! Let us know what new calls, guns, vests you are wanting or have purchased, trips you are taking, or anything else turkey related. I am planning to open the Alabama season on March 15th. Then TN, KY and Fort Campbell.

Hit me up when you head to the buffalo. I floated it the last weekend the outfitters were open and caught some nice Kentucky's and smallmouths. We usually camp and float near Waverly.

My fav... Don't boil first. Quarter then up, dip in Milk/egg then roll in flour. Pan fry in a few tablespoons of bacon fat till brown on both sides. Do this in a cast iron skillet. Heat oven to 350, add enough water to the pan to go half way up the meat, cook in oven till tender. Gets tender and makes gravy. Serve over the top of chees grits.

A friend of mine in Florida had squirrels chew the gas line on his pickup. He decided to go on a mission like Vistar. It's been 7 years of shooting squirrels off the bird feeder from his home office window. He says he can't tell that he's even put a slight dent in the population. He estimates he's killed over 100 per year for 7 years. He's thinking about giving up. :)

I got stopped by a state trooper specifically for window tint. I crossed the highway on a side road and he was approaching the intersection on the highway, several hundred yards away. He turned down the side road and stopped me. He stated, "I could see those windows were too dark from way off." They were illegal and I knew it and I got a ticket. I paid the ticket and left the tint on the truck till I sold it a few months later. BTW, the trooper only checked the driver side front window, but it was the same tint all around. I'm a relatively new pipe smoker, but been doing it long enough to have grown a sizable collection. Old Dark Fired and Best Brown Flake are a couple of favorites. I don't do much aromatics, but a bowl now and then.
