  1. Anything that falls off, lives where it lands
  2. Welp, they've managed 25 years so far & 120 miles this afternoon!
  3. Totally forgot I had this to go with it too. Fantastic under seat storage.....
  4. They're the factory heat shields, on the headers & cross pipe. They're held on with Jubilee clips (I think you guys call em hose clamps, but y'all call everything hose clamps..... This is the ONE single American thing that after 15 years, I still get stuck on! ) The tail pipes got the same treatment as all the other chrome; wet sanded at 220, etched with Naval Jelly, etch primed & 3 top coats. I wish I could post videos here. They sound fantastic with the baffles in. With em out, it sounds like 2 kids chucking bricks into a 55 gallon drum.
  5. Aaaaaaand..... we have fishtails!
  6. Setting off in 2 hours..... I'm happy to hook her up.
  7. I'm hitting the road to Knoxville in 2 hours. I'm more than happy to throw her in the truck if anyone's interested.
  8. I'll be headed towards knoxville in Saturday afternoon. If sometime wants it for $2,000 I'll hook it to the truck.
  9. Well you definitely need a fishing kayak then...... Pssst......I know a guy
  10. I'll be traveling up to Knoxville this weekend, if it helps anyone.
  11. I've got to install the header heat shields, throttle & idle cables & some taller risers tomorrow, since these ones catch the dash, just before full lock and I'm still waiting the fishtails & tanks, but other than that, she's about ready for a test ride! Oh, that primary cover needs dealing with too.....
  12. It got the grinder treatment But then I gussied it up a bit. I didn't like the unfinished edge. I tell you what though, creating a wire edge on a sheet steel fender is not as easy as the first 3 minutes I watched, of a 40 minute YouTube tutorial, led me to believe. Especially when the only welding equipment available is the 'Easy Bake Oven' of MiG sets...... I've also re-wired the back end for the new light setup & the fender is just sitting letting the paint cure. I'll have her back together tomorrow. Oh... painted the rear wheel & ditched the chrome pulley and inner primary covers. Painted the shift linkage, rear master cylinder cover, horn & coil cover, transmission case & a couple of other trim bits that do, actually, fill the gaps nicely but we're waaaaay to shiny. Installed the new, shorter clutch cable, fixed the front master cylinder, gave her some new rear pads (which were down to the paint....) & modified the kickstand to better suit its new, squatted, stance. Hell of a good weekend so far!
  13. SOLD To be fair, I hunted for years with 65lb recurves & longbows. By the time I'd hauled the string back to my actual draw length of 30¾" they were generally around 70ish anyway. Honestly, I quit traditional because I got sick of hurting & losing animals. It goes against everything I believe in. I lost 8 out of the 10 deer I shot. I thought a sight & more efficient bow would solve the issue. Turns out that my problem is one of 'observed perspective' If I'm up a tree & shoot, when I get down again, I have literally no idea where the critter was stood when I shot. I ever went as far as taking compass bearings & eventually cellphone photos to try & find my shot spot. Unfortunately, from there, my brain can't process where the deer ran to be able to start looking for blood. It was unbelievably frustrating. So I said "Eff it" & just stick to muzzleloaders & rifles now & I keep my ass firmly planted on the floor! Haven't lost one since.
  14. Fixed it for you. Also, I'm officially coining the word 'Chromosexual'
  15. images.mp4 I'm putting heavy make up on it at best, ya big drama queen!
  16. This is kinda where my head is at, right now..... I'll plate & fill the 2 spare bolt holes, since the strut covers are also in the crap pile..... @gregintenn......... you interested? Muy shiny!!!
  17. I'm now trying to figure out exactly where & how to chop the rear fender. But I have GOT to get some black on that rear wheel first. The shiny is throwing my eye off.
  18. Out of the 17 days I spent in the mountains in Wyoming last year, I actually spent the first 9 (before the snow arrived) wearing Altama Aqua Assault sneakers. They've got a soft, flexible sole, but a stiff cuff with lots more ankle support than you'd expect. They did spectacularly well in steep, rough rocks & blowdowns. They dry very quickly too. I think I probably covered 60-80 miles in that time, all either up or down through timber & didn't get a single sore or hotspot. High 80⁰s was a little much for the insulated Lowas!
  19. I'm also undecided how long to leave the rear fender. Initially I was thinking super short, but now I'm not so sure. It'll be totally slick though. I've already got a side mount tail light & license plate & I'll be making some hidden turn signals that fit in the struts. I do wish my tanks would hurry up & get here. I want to get them & the fender powdercoated!
