  1. This answers every question you've ever had regarding self defence calibers......... :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2_kHtCKEwQ&feature=youtube_gdata_player
  2. Most all of 'em, written after 1976.
  3. Well balls. I think it looks frikkin' AWESOME! Impractical as a one armed poster hanger, but cool as all get out. In fact, I'm gonna go buy a mozzy ;)
  4. I started handloading simply because .45-70 is crazy expensive to buy! I can't tell you how bad the flinch was the first time I pulled the trigger on one of my own loads. The stuff going through my mind was unbelievable! Then I got a .458 Win Mag.......   I really wouldn't like to shoot any reloads that I didn't personally roll, especially in a pistol where the difference between perfection & catastrophic failure can be miniscule.  As far as I'm aware, this isn't such an issue with rifle rounds, but I'd still be leery of shooting something that didn't come in either a factory box or out of my basement.
  5. I just blew coffee out of my nose laughing at that!!!
  6. Cool video, thanks! Any chance of a vid of a before shot & after brake fitting shot, just so we can gauge the difference in muzzle-flip & recoil?   Just one small point of note.........it's pronounced Poly-Eth-a-lene, not Poly-Thay-lene ;)
  7. Well, not so much the 'E' but definitely the 'BR' DPM lower, bought through the classifieds. CMMG 18" 1:9 stainless, free float bull barrel thanks to Gunbroker. Cheapy Chiwanese optics (that have, however, received pretty good reviews) I just need some range time now to zero her in, then I'll be after the coyotes!
  8. I tell you. if I still lived there, I'd be thinking very, very hard about the phrase; "Doing what's right ain't always legal & doing what's legal ain't always right" And then I'd spend a few years 'at Her Majesty's pleasure' Unfortunately, with the dissolving of Europe into one giant, conglomerate country, Islam has been given a lot more freedom to spread. Political Correctness is so pervasive to European culture that everyone is terrified of offending or upsetting anyone. Please don't let this happen here! I moved myself & my Wife here to escape the repressive nature of the 'Euro-culture' Don't let this Great Nation fall into the same traps that England has found itself in.
  9. I'm new to them myself, but as far as I can tell, if it's chambered for 5.56 you can shoot 5.56 or .223. If it's chambered .223, you can only shoot .223. However, if it's marked as .223 Wylde, you can use 5.56 military spec.
  10. Tula steel case $5.27/box. Still a 2 box limit, but this is the first time I've seen it here in weeks.
  11. I'm sure y'all have seen it before, but I came across this a few months ago & have used it extensively since, just for research purposes. Really handy to have bookmarked. http://stevespages.com/page8d.htm
  12. Very nice work, beautiful stitching. Anyone else thinking 'man-bra'? :D
  13. Henry'll see you right. They are a model of how customer service should operate.   My H001 is well beyond 30,000 shots and is still running like a champ! My only maintenance has been thorough cleaning & I replaced the front sight & barrel bands with steel versions (Free of charge from Henry, just call 'em & ask!)
  14. Holy Carp! Model1's Lead Time Right Now Is 8-10 MONTHS! :o
  15. Not at all Summertime! Thanks for the heads up. I'll give it a good think. I'd really like to support a local dealer, especially a sponsor, but man it's really hard turning my head away from Model1's pricing.
  16. Thanks Mike. It looks like Model1 has a good selection of 20" barrels in stock, in various profiles. I'm guessing this could be a good compromise.
  17. Thanks Dol! I'll give them a call tomorrow. Their prices seem really good :D   Any specifics as to the problems with RGuns?
  18. Well, it seems that I am now the owner of the bottom half of an AR. Not really sure exactly how the hell it happened as I've never been a fan of the platform. Heck, my idea of a high capacity, quick shooting SD/HD tactical rifle has always been a lever action loaded up with .44s!   Anyhoo.......   I'm looking at uppers on Gunbroker right now & I think I know what I'm looking for, but I need assurances!  I'm really thinking about a heavy barrel, free float handguard thingy, no open sights & no rails or other spiky bits. It'll be for targets, coyotes & fun shooting more than anything else.   Are there any significant advantages/disadvantages to a longer/shorter barrel? (I'm trying to decide between a 16 & a 24")   I know that a 1:7 twist will be more accurate with heavier bullets than a 1:9, but will it be more accurate enough for me to really notice a difference at 300yds? (I'm no precision shooter & 1" groups at 100 are the exception, not the rule!)   Are there any makes I really need to avoid? I'm looking at spending under $700 for the whole shebang & I've seen 2 uppers that I like the look of, but for all I know they could be utter poo. (http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=341451156) (http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=341383861)   Right now, I'm leaning towards the 16", but this is based purely on "That looks nice!" rather than anything scientific.   Being an EBR virgin I honestly don't know what anything is worth; the whole ammo/gungrab/hi-cap mag thing pretty much went over my head. Would these 2 uppers seem like reasonable deals?   Thanks for allowing me to display my ignorance! :D
  19. Well hell, we have a mutual friend. Josh is one of my best buddies!   Looks like y'all had a great time. When're you holding your next rendezvous? I'm dying to get over there for a weekend!
  20. Love the Master Chief vs Leonidas battle! :D
  21. I buy all my BP in bulk from http://www.powderinc.com   You could save a bunch in shipping, tax & HAZMAT fees if you drove over the line to Arkansas......
  22. "In honor of the passing of Hugo Chavez, I have had his initials inscribed onto my bathroom taps."   Just saw this on Facebook & about peed myself laughing!
  23. My collection won't be complete until I have a 'Safari' caliber (.458 Lott, .416 Rigby, .375 H&H, .470NE etc...) double rifle. Other than that, I'm happy accumulating lever guns, 'budget' classics, oddballs & my ever growing stable of muzzleloaders.
