  1. Well you definitely need a fishing kayak then...... Pssst......I know a guy
  2. I'll be traveling up to Knoxville this weekend, if it helps anyone.
  3. I've got to install the header heat shields, throttle & idle cables & some taller risers tomorrow, since these ones catch the dash, just before full lock and I'm still waiting the fishtails & tanks, but other than that, she's about ready for a test ride! Oh, that primary cover needs dealing with too.....
  4. It got the grinder treatment But then I gussied it up a bit. I didn't like the unfinished edge. I tell you what though, creating a wire edge on a sheet steel fender is not as easy as the first 3 minutes I watched, of a 40 minute YouTube tutorial, led me to believe. Especially when the only welding equipment available is the 'Easy Bake Oven' of MiG sets...... I've also re-wired the back end for the new light setup & the fender is just sitting letting the paint cure. I'll have her back together tomorrow. Oh... painted the rear wheel & ditched the chrome pulley and inner primary covers. Painted the shift linkage, rear master cylinder cover, horn & coil cover, transmission case & a couple of other trim bits that do, actually, fill the gaps nicely but we're waaaaay to shiny. Installed the new, shorter clutch cable, fixed the front master cylinder, gave her some new rear pads (which were down to the paint....) & modified the kickstand to better suit its new, squatted, stance. Hell of a good weekend so far!
  5. SOLD To be fair, I hunted for years with 65lb recurves & longbows. By the time I'd hauled the string back to my actual draw length of 30¾" they were generally around 70ish anyway. Honestly, I quit traditional because I got sick of hurting & losing animals. It goes against everything I believe in. I lost 8 out of the 10 deer I shot. I thought a sight & more efficient bow would solve the issue. Turns out that my problem is one of 'observed perspective' If I'm up a tree & shoot, when I get down again, I have literally no idea where the critter was stood when I shot. I ever went as far as taking compass bearings & eventually cellphone photos to try & find my shot spot. Unfortunately, from there, my brain can't process where the deer ran to be able to start looking for blood. It was unbelievably frustrating. So I said "Eff it" & just stick to muzzleloaders & rifles now & I keep my ass firmly planted on the floor! Haven't lost one since.
  6. Fixed it for you. Also, I'm officially coining the word 'Chromosexual'
  7. images.mp4 I'm putting heavy make up on it at best, ya big drama queen!
  8. This is kinda where my head is at, right now..... I'll plate & fill the 2 spare bolt holes, since the strut covers are also in the crap pile..... @gregintenn......... you interested? Muy shiny!!!
  9. I'm now trying to figure out exactly where & how to chop the rear fender. But I have GOT to get some black on that rear wheel first. The shiny is throwing my eye off.
  10. Out of the 17 days I spent in the mountains in Wyoming last year, I actually spent the first 9 (before the snow arrived) wearing Altama Aqua Assault sneakers. They've got a soft, flexible sole, but a stiff cuff with lots more ankle support than you'd expect. They did spectacularly well in steep, rough rocks & blowdowns. They dry very quickly too. I think I probably covered 60-80 miles in that time, all either up or down through timber & didn't get a single sore or hotspot. High 80⁰s was a little much for the insulated Lowas!
  11. I'm also undecided how long to leave the rear fender. Initially I was thinking super short, but now I'm not so sure. It'll be totally slick though. I've already got a side mount tail light & license plate & I'll be making some hidden turn signals that fit in the struts. I do wish my tanks would hurry up & get here. I want to get them & the fender powdercoated!
  12. I'm going to take them off & replace them with aftermarket copies. My original plan was to attack the rear fender with the grinder & repaint them all matt black but they're so clean, I can't bring myself to do it. And I saw how much they sell for as a complete, matching set... There are a couple of sets on ebay right now that're priced at more than half what I paid for the bike! I'm not expecting or wanting that much, but I'm fairly sure I could get 4 figures for them.
  13. You can go cleaner & still have mirrors I'm still waiting for cables & brake hose to come in. I'm going to start ripping into the back end next.
  14. @gregintenn Oooooo..... you're gonna be SO mad when l finish with the primary, timing & trans covers, horn, coils, fender struts & belt guard! The sight of my abbreviated rear fender may cause you an actual conniption! I'm not even going to mention the tanks....
  15. Spend the money. Your feet will thank you. My go to for years has been Lowa Tibet GTX, until apack rat got a hold of them in Wyoming last year. I downgraded to a pair of Lowa Ticam II, but they're just as good. Same shank & footbed, but a slightly lower cuff. They take some breaking in (probably 40 miles, at least) but once they're broke, they fit like slippers.
  16. Kids..... Just say "NO" to chrome. I got the entire front end, stripped, prepped & painted today. I need to get it back together tomorrow.
  17. Facebook marketplace actually.
  18. Very much not my first rodeo.....
  19. Yessir. I took the heel shifter off. Can't abide the things. They just get in the way & take up foot space on the floorboard. Unfortunately, it went with the seat.
