Also, as a newb to pistol loading.... How do I go about working up a load? I'm used to working with loads in the 60+ gn range. Working for a pistol (max load 13gn) do I start 1gn under max & work up in 0.1gn increments? Also, what should Ioad for? Best accuracy or best velocity? Again, I'm used to looking for accuracy at 300+ yds, rather than 10 feet.....

Any of you guys running any .45 Super loads in your acps? I'd be interested in hearing your load data, especially concerning AA2400 & 200/250gn cast loads. I'm on the fence between loadinging some Supers for my XDs (around $50) or just buying a damn 10 mil (around $500) I've shot buffalo bore & Underwood supers through my XDs with no trouble (other than a re-located elbow) but it's time to reload my own, I think.

Y'all need a couple of these..... I've been doing to get one for The Wife. We have 14 feeders hanging around the house & on a good day it sounds like the Smurf Airforce around here! Sent from a mountain somewhere, using telepathy.

If you ever decide you don't need it anymore, gimme a holler. Been looking for one for a while.....

I'll stick with standards & supers. Seems like a solution looking for a problem to be honest.

As posted over on Rokslide...... "ATLAS COOLER SHIPPING UPDATE 7/22/2016:All,I am back from the backcountry of CO and just got off the phone with the owner of Atlas (he is out of the country at present), here is Group Buy status directly from him:1) ALL coolers ordered from the Group Buy have arrived stateside and are in the port in Long Beach, CA and waiting to clear customs. ALL tumblers needed to fulfill Group Buy orders are in stock at Atlas.2) Long Beach, CA port is running slower than expected releasing containers through customs, our container is now 9 days overdue for delivery to ATLAS' fulfillment center.3) Immediately upon Long Beach releasing the container, it will travel by rail to Houston, then private semi straight to Atlas' fulfillment (It will only take the container 4 days to arrive at ATLAS' fulfillment center once cleared by Long Beach customs).I again reiterate, Atlas' *primary* business focus is large volume sales to big box stores, this Group Buy was an accommodation for us. Regrets to all that the timeline is running a little slower than planned. In addition, an unexpected/unplanned very large order from a big box store came in early in the Group Buy timeline, that order took precedence and killed the inventory they had on hand. Once that big box order hit, ATLAS put together a dedicated order for our Group Buy. That order, as stated, is in Long Beach. Supposition and flaming are not constructive to trying to get this deal done.I am sorry about the delays on this, but anyone who has real heartburn and feels a need to flame Atlas is free to go on line and cancel their order any time before this Sunday. ATLAS will hold a window open until this Sunday for anyone that wants to kill their order. However, as stated before, I know for a fact that any future deals will not be priced as favorably, nor will they have the free shipping terms we got on this gig, so pick your poison. It is just a reality of business that ATLAS planned that the container would arrive within their normal window of expectation and that Long Beach is operating outside normal parameters and did not read that plan.I hope this provides some clarity.Best to all-JL" I really hope this all comes together quickly & smoothly and doesn't go anything like the 'Rtic fiasco' I feel responsible seeing as I posted this here.

Are you talking to me or cmsmith? I've already put a box of Super through the XDS (Believe me, I did a TON of research on this...) & it's utterly miserable to shoot. It's very painful on the wrist & elbow & it feels like it's trying to relocate my right thumb to my right ear. That said, I'm not shooting it at the range, or for home defence. This is literally a 'holy crap, there's a bear/moose smashing my ribs into the floor' gun.
-
MORE WANT!!! It's freaking minigun.
-
I also decided against it, mostly due to cost. Nobody specifically makes a conversion for the 3.3 XDS so I'd have to have a 3.8 modified. Ammo availability is terrible & it's spendy when you find it. I figured that it wouldn't be something I'd shoot enough of, to warrant buying the reloading components. I decided to go with .45 Super. It's not quite as potent as the .460, but ammo is a lot cheaper, if not common, and I can use my ACP reloading setup. Once I have the brass, regular .45 components work. You may not even need to upgrade your recoil spring. It's recommended in the 1911, but I was cautioned against it in the XD because it can lead to unreliable feeding. What is your reasoning for wanting one? If you don't mind me asking..... If it's just for the cool factor, then more power to ya! I was after ultralight grizzly & moose deterrent for my hunting trips out west, so it'll get maybe 20 rounds per year.

I can a bunch of venison every year. Usually any leftovers that are in the freezer from the previous season get cubed & canned. It's great insurance in case the freezer ever goes out & it's a fantastic way to use up the tougher cuts without having to grind it all by hand. I'm not a fan of canned veg, if I'm honest, although I do make & can spaghetti sauce/chili starter. Fyi....a whole, quartered squirrel fits pintnt mason jar perfectly with just enough room for onion slices, a jalapeno & seasoning Can you say 'instant skwerl stew?'

Personally, I use Shooter but now I've got an involuntary do-over I'm giving some serious thought to buying Applied Ballistics. Everyone I respect in the long range game uses it (well, the poor ones that can't afford G7 rangefinders anyway) & Brian freaking Litz wrote it so, y'know.... For those of you using Shooter, Strelock, Applied Ballistics or any other app on your phone:Remember to back up all your data online!!My phone took a dump last week & I've lost ALL my data.3 year's worth of range testing, chrono readings, drops & compensation for all my rifles out to 1250 yards, all my reloading data: Gone.I couldn't tell you how much ammo or range time it took to compile all this data & in a split second it was all lost. Most, if not all, of these apps have a backup facility. Please don't make my mistake & use them!

Just fyi.... Before I bought my Echo, I was warned off small STIHL equipment. I always thought it was the very best, but apparently their small, hobby stuff I'd pretty much Poulan quality now. You have to get into their big stuff before you get the built in Sweden quality.

Where are you? I've got a small (16") Husqvarna for sale for $150 Only selling because I upgraded to a bigger saw. Runs perfectly.

Hah! The guy to the right of Simon McCullough ( 3rd from the left, back row) is Jamie McCormack. He's Royal Engineers, I think 18 years in & the sergeant on the front row is his Dad, who served with the Engineers in Northern Ireland & The Falklands (plus lots more I don't know of/can't remember) And the caption is wrong. W weren't air cadets, we were Cadets of the Prince of Wales own Regiment of Yorkshire, the same regiment I went on to serve with, however briefly. The little shady looking guy, second from the right, back row: I forget his name. It was David Verner.....he's now a multi-millionaire graphic artist & the kid 3rd from the left in the front row is Rob Holmes. Doing life for double murder. I had some......interesting......friends as a kid! Sorry for all the edits, memory's a funny thing! Sent from a mountain top, via telepathy.

Just received a MONSTER kick in the head! Mum just emailed me this pic..... That's little me in the back left corner. The guy to my right was one of my best friends,Simonn McCullough. He joined the Paras in '92 & spent a year in Northern Ireland. He was killed by an IRA booby trap whilst pulling a republican flag from the side of a protestant school wall in '94. The young kid one to the right of centre, back row is Adam Hope. He was recently promoted to Regimental Sergeant Major after 19 years service with the Royal Army Medical Corps. He made all the papers as being one of the last 2 British soldiers to be removed from Iraq. He & a company corporal were volunteering in a civvy hospital when the orders came through & basically told the Army to pound sand. They weren't leaving until ALL the civilians in the hospital had been evacuated to safety. They got a severe reprimand & a Military Cross for Gallantry for that. This is them now (right & left. Don't know the guy in the middle)

Now it's been mentioned.....I'm giving major consideration to switching the stock out for a Boyd's Prairie Hunter. It'll come in maybe a pound heavier, but a laminate stock is going to be much stiffer with more weight at the butt end.

Stevens 110 I built. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

That's my other option, but it's already weighing in at 11lb & I'm kinda loathe to put any more weight to it. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
