We drained & mashed the capping on a screen, then let it sit for about a week (maybe more) I think the capping was from 20 frames & we got about a half gallon of honey by draining. Rendering the mostly drained wax gave us the extra bonus. I've got another 16 frames worth of wax rendering in the oven right now. I'll see how much we get from that. The bees are cleaning up last night's frames as I write this....

https://www.primaryarms.com/primary-arms-1-4x24mm-illuminated-riflescope-pa14x I've got 3 of these on different rifles & not only are they insanely clear, they're also bulletproof. I've dropped, dragged, bumped, knocked & slammed them into all kinds of stupid accidents & not one has lost zero. My .308 knock around gun has had at least 2000 rounds through it & the scope is 100% exactly where I zeroed it. I recommend them to literally anyone who'll listen. -
No tlr-7 light option. I've searched high & low and I've not found anyone that makes what I want. I contacted JX Tactical, who make my current holster, and they can offer everything I need, but the light mold. I guess in a year or so it'll be common, but right now the light is too new.

I'm trying to find another AIWB holster for my p365xl. It seems like nobody builds one with an optic cut & molded for a Streamlight tlr-7 sub. Especially a low ride, fat guy friendly, pull-the-dot loop number. Does anyone know of someone local who's up to the task? I'm more than happy to supply the pistol for molding purposes.

This is our first year taking more than just a frame or two (we went from 1 hive to 5 in 4 weeks! Busy swarm season....) & it's amazing to me the change in color, texture & taste in such a short time! We also rendered a couple of pounds of cap wax last time & drew about a half pint of the most amazing, apricot colored honey from that. The stuff we're bottling is totally raw, but the wax honey was heated to 150° & the change is unbelievable! 5 times thicker, much sweeter & more 'honey like'

We just pulled another 10 frames tonight (3-1/2 gallons) that puts this year's harvest total at around 9 gallons. I had to order more frames & foundations tonight, since we've run out! We still have 3 unchecked hives that I'm sure will need emptying soon! It's really cool, bottling up each different harvest as the season goes on. The difference in taste & color is amazing! https://imgur.com/a/M2jBDT7 (EDIT to add..... have I mentioned how much I despise imgur?)

I'm happy to help you..... It's, the non alcoholic version of the 6.5 Manbun. I will laugh & show scorn & derision at every opportunity.

What's your opinion on the 507k? I'm seriously considering one for my 365xl slide (that I STILL need internals for)
-
Ohhhhhhh my........ The hives are in full flow right now! It was too hot to do any real harvesting today, but she collected 4 frames to make some room & harvested 11 pints of honey! We have around 30 more frames to harvest next weekend. VID_86300520_063544_247.mp4

WARNING!!! FAT GUY BELLY PHOTO BELOW!! How would you rate this 'concealment level'? Is this what would be considered acceptable or is the point of the grip a problem?
-
Update. I got my JX Tactical Fat Guy holster a couple of days ago. I've been wearing it around the house, farm & at work ever since it arrived. It took a little bit of fenagling to find the best position & angle & a few hours to get used to the new sensation, but I have to say, I 'think' I may have lucked out on my first try! This thing is really comfortable walking, standing, sitting & sitting in my recliner. It doesn't seem to print too badly, even in thin shorts & a normal fitting polyester Tee. Put it this way...Le Wifey has no idea I've been carrying since Saturday. I emailed JX to see if it was compatible with any of the proprietary 'claw fittings, since the only really visible point is the very tip of the grip & I'm waiting to hear back on that.

I swear.....I WILL strike you. Do you want to get striked?! Mrs P. has been pestering for goats for years. I drew the line at ducks. We have ducks. I really drew the line at geese. We have a goose. I was vigorous in my protests about a pig. We have a pig. Goats is the hill I will 'king die on. -

I would take prison rape over goats. No goats. Not now, Not ever. For srslys. Also, you're not allowed to ever speak to my goat-enamoured wife. Ever. -

If any of y'all know how the hell to get rid of buttercups without spraying, I'd be all ears. My pastures are completely yellow this year. It's drowning out the grass I sowed in the spring & my horses are having to fight through the damn stuff to feed. On the up side, the bees are going nuts for it. -
I picked up a stock on ebay that needed a BUNCH of inletting, but I get bored & it was cheap. I stripped the bolt & fired up my forge, beating the original bolt handle into a nice, elegant spoon handle. Terry Walden spent far too long drilling & tapping the scope mounts, but he mostly got it right.....& I mounted an old Weaver K6W, television view fixed 6 power scope. I need to get to the range & sight her in, but man.... she points like a fiiiine shotgun!

A few months ago, on here, I picked up a basic, sporterized Turkish Mauser in one of my all time favorite-but-never-owned calibers; .257 Roberts. Well.... I did a little work, spent a little cash & frankly, I can't not love the improvement!

Not in the least. The safety on the maverick sucks, but in my opinion the safety on the 500 sucks & at least the 88 can't skin your thumb! They're both solid, workhorse shotguns. They rattle for a reason & the reason is good. You can't get one wet, dirty or cold enough to seize it up. I have an 88 for pigs in areas that centerfire isn't allowed & mostly home defense. It's got an ATI adjustable stock & a cheap red dot & with slugs & #4 buck, it's more than accurate enough out to 50yds.

How do you intend to carry? Belt holster on your pants, belt holster on a pack, chest holster....? My preference when i head west (bigger bears, bigger gun) is a single action Ruger SBH, 5" in .44 carried in a chest holster. Having researched a LOT on bear encounters, if a pissed grizz charges & i'm not aware it's there, pretty much nothing can be raised quickly enough to be effective. If there's an inkling that there's a big predator in the vicinity, I've already got the gun in my hand thumb on the hammer. If i'm seeing a bear, that hammer's aaaall the way back. Chances of more than 2 shots before an attacking predator hits you is well south of 1%, regardless of the gun. Around the southeast, i'd be far more concerned about 2 legged threats than 4. When i'm in the backcountry around non-grizzly country I carry a simple DA .38 in a low riding (cowboy style) belt holster, loaded with hot hardcast 180s. I know it'll drop a black bear or hog & it's small & light enough that it's not a burden. Out of your choices, locally, i'd feel happy with either, but I think the 1911 probably edges out the revolver in this case.
