I shoot the cheapest Federal bulk pack I can find in all my 22s. For the life of me, I can not figure out why in the hell people want to spend big bucks on CCI and other ammo for a 22!! It's a 22 dammit....THE reason for shooting one is economy. Repeat again after me....THE reason for shooting one is economy. It's the economy, stupid! Wow. edited: Oh yeah, the subject. I shoot the cheapest 22 I can find thru my Walther P22. Why the hell you would want to shoot anything expensive is a total mystery to me. The pistol will work fine with the cheapest ammo. Some of these guns [mine] have to have a polishing of the feed ramp and an edge-break of the chamber to get them to run OK. Mine runs great. All this hype about hyper velocity, kudo-velocity, big-ass velocity is yet another mystery to me. I must be dumb. Get some chep ammo and have fun. OR...buy the most expensive ammo you can find and go broke.

Another great thing about PDO is you can buy any gun from Davidson's Gallery of Guns and get PDO's price. Then accept the deal, make a downpayment and, the within two days you will get a call from them telling you they have your gun.

I always duck in if within a few miles. You never know what you are going to see there! Also, Robert there is very knowledgable about most guns and is very polite. They have a nice display of older, less common milsurps. Stacks of cases of ammo. See also: Loudon County Sportsman on Broadway in Lenoir City. Another gem sometimes overlooked!

I snapped one up at Gander Mtn. the minute they put it on the used pistol shelf for $200!! Nice shooter. I hope one of my daughters will want it in the future.

Ruger .22LR Reassembly Made Easy! (or at least easier)
TnEngineer replied to StPatrick's topic in Handguns
Thank you Lester.... And thank you LimaTunes. You are the sound of reason in firearms. And, from a GIRL! You guys should be ahsamed of yourselves, having to get a girl to show you how to take your Ruger MKII down to clean and rebuild it. shame shame shame on you I bet some liberals who own the same gun are watching in and laughing their butts off!! I don't blame them. I have never seen such a bunch of panzy idiots in all my life... Rant mode OFF -
Ruger .22LR Reassembly Made Easy! (or at least easier)
TnEngineer replied to StPatrick's topic in Handguns
Step 1. Follow instructions in Ruger manual. Step 2. There is no step 2 You guys stop being panzies. You all sound like a bunch of cry baby non-mechanical, sheeple. Now, straighten up and fly right. Wow simply wow:screwy: Edited to add: I simply can not believe some of the steps I read in your postings. Inserting magazine? Left hand in some sort of gangsta position? Tell me this is a joke of some kind and I will relax. Otherwise, I may just post some of your stuff on another gunboard for laughs! -
Good posted question. Yes, Ed's Red. Been using it since at least 1998 with great results. For about $12, you can make a gallon of it. Tell me, how much Hoppes do you get for $12? A little teeny, tiny botltle that does not last long. I clean all my guns handguns, rifles, shotguns with it. Since it is not good with copper fouling, I use Hoppes every 4th or 5th cleaning after using Ed's Red. Sure saves on the Hoppes! 1 part Kerosene 1 part Mineral Spirits 1 part Automatic Trans Fluid 1 part Acetone All availiable from Wally World except perhaps the kerosene. Be sure and label it and store it properly. I am hooked on Ed's Red because it is economical. I can use it liberally and not worry about it.

Gunztuff.com :: Magazines & Clips Page 2, 3rd from bottom. $34.50 each...ouch but, gotta have them!
-
From the scouting I have done, mags are $32--35 each. But...you get heavy metal, well made and not plastic. I really need to buzz mine up over 1,000 rounds and then inspect for wear but, have not had the time lately. Unless something goes haywire, this gun will reside in my range-bag forever.

No, I never get up Norris way except on an occasional camping trip. Eager to see how the Colt/Umarex version turns out. Looks like it will cost $100 more than the GSG but heck, if it is that much better, I will chow-down on one. My shooting life revolves around .22 now days.

My daughter who attends UT was at a show there several weeks ago and is still complaining about the security people searching and hasseling her and her friend. But, beside that, I would not hesitate to go to a show there. It has changed a bit since my band played there back in the 1990s when it was The Electric Ballroom.

Who carries a full size 1911......
TnEngineer replied to Parrothead's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Same here. Full size Springer Loaded in the Max Con V. Got it local at Coal Creek. Damn what a nice holster. The gun hides so well, all that is showing is the grip. Printing is not a problem. Weight is not a problem with the Aker gun belt and also, Perry suspenders if needed. With the Perrys, I can load my belt as much as I want and there is no problem. Try it. -
Howdy guys, I am the person who posted on RimfireCentral about this gun. In short, it is fantastic. The Chiappa does not compare although if you have one, enjoy it and rock on. All controls are the same, the grips the sights, etc. It IS the definitive 1911 in .22. I am at about 700 rounds of flawless Federal bulk pack. No chokes at all. Accuracy is really good and the bonus is...the trigger is great. For about $40 more there is simply no comparison with the Chiappa, plain and simple. And since I am a lefty, the ambi safety is a bonus. Threaded barrel. Adjustable trigger. Drop-free heavy magazine, three dot adjustable sights. It has become my favorite 1911. Now, Kimber and Springer sit in the safe [hells bells, I can't afford to shoot them]. Got mine from Davidson's OTD at my local FFL for about $380. One of the best gun purchases I have ever made.

Restaurant carry official! - Public Chapter 1009
TnEngineer replied to Fallguy's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Please tell me one more time: I can carry in a resturant that serves alcohol as well as a "bar"? Not being a lawyer, reading over the prior posting showing the new law, I get lost in it, if you know what I mean. All this time, I was under the impression that the new law would allow carry ONLY in restaurants that serve alcohol and NOT "bars". I don't mean to muddy the waters and, thanks! -
Tennessee Senate Overrides Restaurant Carry Veto
TnEngineer replied to FlyboyLDB's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Thanks for your intel. We are standing by in Eastern Tennessee. -
Yup, time to put this dirtbag in his place. I hope he suffers the worst embarrasment over it. Emails sent to rep and senator and phone calls tomorrow. We will flatten that turd!!
-
macville, I have your post duly noted and filed away. Thanks for the heads-up.

One more note. I have the internet posting about Wamp and Victor Ashe in a photo along with the mayor of Chatt. all voting for....:"The American Heritage Rivers Initiative". A socialists adjenda where the U.S. gubmit takes control of all waterways and tributaries. Yes, our federal government takes control of all waterways and their tributaries and, land within about 100 feet of the banks. Don't believe it? Post back and I will try and find the original news article.

I met Wamp and let me tell you...he is most arrogant. Can not reveal more about this because if he finds out, he will have me fired!

The Answer Is *NOT* Thug Tactics
TnEngineer replied to TGO David's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I know what Chuck Heston would have said: "Raise absolute hell with them [leaders]". You know what would have happened if we took the high road during the last big state income tax attempt? We would have had one. The jerks were going to do it. But instead, we citizens took to the streets, stormed the buildings and flat out told them, we were not going to have a state income tax. And, we don't have one do we? It is time for a litlle scorched earth and hurt feelings here. The liberal media has the camera, the micorphone, the newspaper, molds public opinion, controls the U.S. Congress, Whitehouse and pretty much, the SCOTUS. How in the world can you fight this? If little Barry Hussien had taken "The High Road", he would not have become the POTUS now would he? Like said before, this country is on life-support, it is crumbling around you and you better be prepared for what is coming. It is not going to have anything to do with your concept of casting a ballot. We're on our own, folks, the cavalry ain't coming. Rant Mode OFF -
Restaurant Carry Law ruled Void!
TnEngineer replied to raydog1's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Is there anywhere I can email the good "judge" and express my opinion? -
Ahhhh, the KT P11 rattling mag routine. Try this: Load mag all the way up [or after chambering to top off]. Get really small screwdriver. Insert blade of small screwdriver into one of the inspection [round count] holes and gently, pry downward on a cartridge case. Just a little. Stops the rattle every time.

Yup, good 'ol Loudon County is still not quite sucked into the liberal hysteria that is trying to take our country. The way-out liberal mayor Brookshire is the same guy that, when he was a teacher, lectured my kids about how absolutely imperative it was that we elect Algore as President. I came mighty close to going over there and telling the guy off. Instead, I have made it a hobby to work against him as best I can.

Someone in touch, please make sense of this as all hell is breaking loose about the supposed new Att. Gen. opinion on carry in parks. Read the hysteria/mis-quotes/mis-spelling etc. here: Tennessee AG issues new opinion on 'guns in parks' law Knoxville News Sentinel This thing is spiraling out of control as we speak......
