  1. Ok, maybe I'm stupid but I can't seem to find the official magazine for a Colt Defender in stock anywhere.  I've thought about after market ones but I'm not sure if the length of those are the same, ie, they are a bit longer and thus would extend out from the grip.  Has there been a run on those magazines and I missed it or what?  Anybody know where I can get one or two.  TIA
  2. They gotta pay for all 89 gazillion television ads that they run every 8.375 seconds....
  3. I have the small mityvac and I have this one...   http://www.harborfreight.com/brake-fluid-bleeder-92924.html   That one requires you have a decent sized air compressor but it does great up to a point.  I have found that no matter what I do, it pulls air bubbles in the receptacle hose from around where it attaches to the bleeder screw.  So what I do is use the air compressor to pull fluid til I see new fluid, then I leave it attached and go mash the pedal a time or two to make sure there is no air in the system.  Haven't had any problems to this point, and it doesn't take long to do.
  4. The guy who left his truck running at the mapco will at least get a citation for leaving truck running unattended.  Might even get something charged to him from damage to store if I had to guess.
  5. I'm still running Vista myself.  Never had a problem with it and I figure that if it ain't broke, why tempt fate loading in a new OS.
  6. If in the right setting, ie, damp, dark, and around a while, things can grow on there, especially if its a spit unit with the air handler with this coil in say the basement.
  7. Holy crap I'm stupid.  I have no idea what any of that meant other than I'm stupid.
  8. Hmm, makes me wonder if I can sell em a new state logo....... oh wait......
  9. It depends.  If you don't care what the house looks like you just pull in there.  If wifey gets bent if the petunias are out of alignment, you have to get it in there veeerrrryyyy carefully......
  10. Low wattage soldering iron, some sort of solder removal tool, ie a solder sucker are a must here.  To high a wattage and you'll melt the pads off quicker than you can blink.  Solder sucker aids in removal of old parts and extra solder oopsies.  I have had to repair some small circuitry in my overhead console on my truck where the resistors were not soldered in well from the factory and a big tipped, high wattage iron just was not the right tool, too big, etc.   Also some sort of small finger to manipulate the part over the pads and hold it in place while soldering is very handy as well, like plastic soldering pick.
  11. Yeah, don't get confused and grab your wife's teeth by mistake, you'll be blabbing all day....
  12. For some reason, it keeps reminding me of this logo
  13. I found a World Market in Murfreesboro at the Avenues shopping mall yesterday.  They have them.  Thanks Fujimo
  14. I've been reading and hearing of stroopwafels and would like to try them. Anybody know where in middle Tennessee I might be able to find them? They are of Dutch origins. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stroopwafel Thanks
  15. This is done on purpose by turning up the injectors.  All that black smoke is unburned diesel fuel and as far as I'm concerned, is like pouring it out of the can directly on the street.  Most of the time, the offender also has the big er.... um .... sack? hanging from the trailer hitch as well.
  16. I don't know about the Memphis area but here in middle TN there are a few trailer places that sell axles, BJ's in Lebanon, Midway Trailer between M'boro and Shelbyville, and they have the different axles stacked up out in the yard.  I replaced one on my 16' dual axle trailer hubs and springs included and the axle was only around $150.  Find a trailer yard and you'll probably find your axle unless its some sort of specialty/homebrew thing.  From start to finish, I had my axle changed in about an hour.
  17. I have seen a variety of stock over several Walmarts.  As stated above, it depends on local store personnel as to what they order.  Some walmarts in questionable areas do not carry any firearms.  The one local to me in Smithville does not carry AR's but all of them in Murfreesboro do.  They do make it hard to find on the website searches.  I know they sell Colts but it has been my experience that if you search for Colts, all that will show up is the airsoft stuff.
  18. Oh yeah, top this.  I have a 2002 Ford F250 that is 4 wheel drive.  Well, the lamp behind the 4 wheel drive switch went out.  No problem I figure.  The switch is on a micro panel that just snaps out of the big dash panel and the light assembly is a quarter turn release and it comes out in your hand.  Take light assembly to dealer, they look it up, light is not serviceable, you have to buy a whole new 4 wheel drive switch that is $75.  Ummmm, no.
  19. If you can't find one, I'd be asking the tool rental people if they had one available.   Edit: Seeing that your in Smyrna, I wonder if Farrar Bros. in M'boro would have one to rent.  They have all kinds of weird and crazy tools to rent there.
  20. Tennessee Performing Arts Center in Nashville.
  21. The BMI thing is a carry over from the aviation world.  That is something they started over there in the last year or so.
  22. What was the first post, I forgot.
  23. My wife's granny would be barefoot, find a snake in the yard, stand on snake barefooted and holler for somebody to bring her the garden hoe so she could whack it.
  24. This website is a treasure trove of information concerning mobile operation.  More here than you would probably care to read.   http://www.k0bg.com/
  25. Good work on that trailer, it looks great.  I, for one, thank you for having working lights on your trailer.  If I had a nickle for every trailer I saw that did't, I'd be a rich man.  That's one of my pet peeves is using a trailer at night with no lights on, especially when you can't see the lights on the tow vehicle.   When I redid my 16' trailer (wood rotted out)  I sort of did the same thing.  I went to an auto paint store and bought some acrylic enamal and shot mine top and bottom a couple of times.  For the wiring, I found that thick round cable that has the 7 wires in it to beef that up running to the truck.  As I went to the back of the trailer, I added yellow clearance lights to the front corners, and the red 3 light id bar across the back, new tail lights, all LED.  I soldered, shrink wrapped, and used outdoor junction boxes for all my connections and so far haven't had any problems.   Oh, also as I replaced the wood, I bought it, let it set in the basement for over a month suspended off the floor to dry.  Then went to Sherwin Williams and bought the best primer and some industrial enamel and put 2 coats of primer and I dunno how many top coats but a bunch to all sides of the wood.  So far, it hasn't curled like the original planks did.   Geez, I got kinda blabby, whoops.   :nervous:
