  1. +1...........again
  2. My wife would say that most of the time, I'm a subset idiot
  3. KenRockwell.com Great site with "english" reviews from somebody who uses cameras every day. edit: also, there have been some Nikons popping up lately on Nashville craigslist. If you figure out how to look at em, might be a money saver. If I didn't already have one that I just got, I would probably be all over this, http://nashville.craigslist.org/pho/1738639257.html. Its not 10 mp but according to the Rockwell fellow, that really doesn't matter unless your going to blow something up to a really large size.
  4. So I recently bought a Nikon D40X camera with some lenses. Walking around in Walmart the other day, I saw Photoshop Elements 8 and bought it. Any advice on how to learn how to use this thing. I have no photoshop experience, and after loading and opening it, not real sure I want any................... Insert learning advice below.........
  5. Bought one for my wife with the spurless hammer and crimson trace grips. She likes to brag that she passed her HCP test without really sighting. "All I had to do was put the dot on the target and it made a hole there, why would I want to sight it" she says......... All I had when we bought it for her was my Bersa .380 and my Colt .45 and she knew better than try the 45, even after I told her it wasn't bad. When I got her out in the yard, I first loaded her up with .38's and she decided that wasn't too bad, so I says "well, lets try a couple of .357's". She asks, "Are they bad"? I says "No, there very much like the .38s". I load it up, point her down range, stand behind her, she sights in on the target all the while quietly saying "Oh , oh :censored:" repeatedly and............fires. After the flame goes away I hear "OH !" At this point, I'm and . Long story short, we love the gun. Now that my Colt was stolen, kind of thought about getting another Ruger.
  6. Well, this thread definately shows that this forum needs support, alot of support.............
  7. Not piling on, as the last line in my OP says, "Any and all advice welcome". That is a good idea and I will employ now, I just wish I had thought of that beforehand................ Unfortunately, no. I know, I know............I'm stupid, just ask my wife, she'll tell you gleefully
  8. Yeah, I had thought of that. I told the lady to call me and discuss after she got the paper work. If it was going to turn out that they weren't going to wave the deduc. and raise my rates, I was going to tell them to forget it.
  9. That is who I called first. I have State Farm as well and when I called my agents office, they said that they wouldn't cover it. They indicated that the home owners insurance was the ones I needed to call. So, I called them (Farm Bureau) and they said that they do cover things like this and in certain circumstances, they waived the deductible. The lady sent me an inventory sheet to fill out and submit back. I figure with my luck of late that it will probably be in vain but to quote the lottery, you can't win if you don't play the game, thus my endevour to fill out the form and my questions. $1000. If they decide to not wave the deductible, with the list of what the thief got, I will still end up with ~ $200. Doesn't quite cover what I lost but at this point, 200 is better than 0.
  10. If this is in the wrong place, I humbly appologize. Please move as appropriate................ I was in Atlanta for my fathers funeral 04/10 and while I was in town, my truck was broken into and my Colt was stolen, along with the holster and extra mag. I had the cops make a report and I am in the process of filling out the paper work for the home owners insurance and have come up on a question. First, a little background on the gun which will lead to the question. I bought a Colt M1991A1 (full size) from a pawn shop in M'boro. When I bought it, it came with already installed trijicon night sights and a "trigger job". I have no documentation to support the night sights and trigger job so how would I go about itemizing these? The holster and extra mag I had I bought new and kept the receipts so that is not a problem. Another question I have is how would I determine what the current replacement cost is for the gun? Looking at gunbroker, cost seems to vary somewhat. I realize this is not a top shelf Colt, and I'm not looking to take advantage, just file a claim for replacement cost of everything I lost. Any and all advice is welcome.
  11. People who come down the acceleration lane (that's what the drivers manual calls the on ramp of the interstate) at a snails pace and then stop at the end. Accelerate and merge people................

  15. Having read this thread a day or two ago, and having gone back and searched and read some of Mars posts, I feel as if I have indeed missed a great treasure here. He appeared to me to be a good story teller and all around good fellow, and those are true treasures. If it is not to weird or wrong of me to ask, would somebody be so kind as to fill me in as to some of the history of this fine fellow?
  16. Word of advise if you do purchase a pressure washer. One of the biggest reasons the pump craps out so fast is that people leave the water in them for long periods of time and that corrodes/eats up the pump and other innards. My brother made a special "funnel" attachment for the hose connection that allows him to "flush" the straight water out with a small quantity of anti-freeze. He pours a small quantity in the funnel and pulls the rope start just enough to get it to come out the high pressure discharge port. He does not pull hard enough to start the engine, just hard enough to turn it over.
  17. Ah yes, the A-Team. Average number of shots taken in one episode - 4,000,000....... Exact number of hits - 0
  18. That's what mine has, think I'll only answer question 1 & 2, the rest they can go look up for themselves.
  19. Perhaps a sequel to Turner and Hooch????
  20. In the permitting world, it's almost to the point that it is better to ask for forgiveness rather than permission.............. If your out in the country country, I would make a covert project out of it and quietly put it up and see what happens. Calling and asking for permission almost seems like swinging a stick at a hornets nest. Oh and !!!!!
  21. Look how even the cut was right before it went out into the street. That's pretty good for going that fast
  22. Now she is something that I would not use my futile resistance to avoid assimilation with
