  1. My advice is to sell any NFA item currently in an F4 IN-STATE. One transfer tax. Most people are not going to spend 400 bucks in transfer fees for a can or SBR. Transferable MG...sure. Rare DD...sure. From a Form 4, the item must go TAX PAID to an 01 or 07 FFL with at least a C3 SOT. This goes a teeny bit faster by filling out just the "FRONT" of the Form 4, as all the background info which would apply to an Individial transferee is rendered moot by the out of state dealers FFL/SOT. But once that Xfer is complete and you've shipped the NFA item, the process has to begin again from that dealer to your buyer. It's a true PITA. In state is far easier and doesn't even require a dealer be involved at all. Just an F4 from you to them. D.
  2. You can also "Un SBR" (or SBS, AOW even UN DD) an item and request its removal from the NFRTR. National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record, by submitting a letter to ATF NFA in Martinsburg WV and describing the item and citing it's SN, detailing what has been done to the weapon to make it no longer subject to the auspices of the NFA. Removals are the lowest priority of NFA examiners and it typically takes 90+ days to get a response and confirmation that the item is no longer on the registry. D.
  3. Where we live near Tullahoma the woods are polluted with does. To be clear, my understanding was that all antlerless taking was now public land only. If I'm mistaken I welcome correction. D.
  4. What utter nonsense. Any idea why? In AL where I just moved from, a few Lefty and a few good ol' boy Sheriffs were warned numerous times to stop issuing CCW permits to individuals WITHOUT a NICS check. When those elected officials ignored those requests, ATF pulled ALs CCW exemption for NICS. Thereby negating the WHOLE POINT, to me, of obtaining a CCW in a Constitutional Carry State. D.
  5. I just moved here and noted with some dismay that antlerless deer taking was prohibited on private land for the first time by TN Game Comm. This past season. I'm a doe shooter, freezer filler and don't care about antlers. Does anyone imagine that this will revert for the 25-26 season? Why or why not? D.
  6. That my AZ carry permit is an exemption from NICS in AZ. However the TN permit is NOT an exemption from NICS. Is the latter true? D.
  7. Go home and make some sandwiches Lady.
  8. Don Jr, Kash and Elon are definitely "our people". D.
  9. Oh I love this topic. How many 922r prosecutions have ever occurred? ZERO Why? Because there is NO REQUIREMENT to mark the affected US made parts. I've built thousands of AKs, hundreds of FALs and myriad of other types. Have even been forced to manufacture 922r parts to comply with the stupid law i.e. making wood pistol grip or having magazine floorplates stamped out at the local stamping facility. (SIG AMT) Not a single time has any of my customers ever been queried about 922r. Never. Is it the "law", sure. Have i fretted about it as an 07? Yes. Let your conscience be your guide. D.
  10. Your hospitality is appreciated.
  11. A "services offered, services needed" with locality. In these troubled times of woe and want, it might be nice to support fellow members of the board with their projects or if one were to be a practitioner of said Trade or vocation, might be amenable to providing services for fellow members. Ad example "Wanted in Tullahoma area, well driller for water well". Inversely, "well driller available Tullahoma and 150mi in any direction, call for TGO prices!" I've found this a great way to get good deals, finish projects, avoid taking chances on Facebook flakes, and most importantly SUPPORT FELLOW GUNNIES! Just a thought. In my previous vocation as one of the nation's premier FAL, AK, HK, GALIL, AR builders and firearms refinishers i was able to trade all manner of needed services for my labors, from legal representation to dentistry, BARTER remains untaxable and a great way to exercise independence from the ever-intrusive State. D.
  12. 25 year gunsmith. Former sole source for Daewoo rifle parts in the nation. 07/C2 for 20 years. Former CO. Constitutional law aficionado. Blah blah blah. I'm old and I know stuff. Recently moved from Ala-damn-bama to "you're the only Ten I see". Tullyhoho to be exact. Hopefully I can be of some amusement or assistance or both in these parts. Hola. D.
