  1. Welcome from Nashville.
  2. Welcome from another resident of western Davidson Co.
  3. Welcome. Check this site out for state run outdoor ranges:https://www.tn.gov/twra/hunting/firing-ranges.html Someone recommended this place in another thread: https://okcshootingrange.com/ Might not be too far from you. I don’t have direct experience with it myself, but it looks nice and I’ll probably get out there at some point.
  4. Welcome. I’m on the west side of Davidson Co., so not too far from you.
  5. Welcome. Thank you for your family’s service! All due respect, sir.
  6. Nice. I’ll definitely check it out. Hopefully, your comments here won’t start a stampede .
  7. Thanks. I had not come across that place in my searches. It looks nice! About 1.5 hour drive for me but could be worth it. How are the crowds?
  8. Thanks for the comments everyone. I’ll likely try out Stones River at some point, but based on this feedback, it won’t be a priority.
  9. That’s a nice looking rifle. Beautiful grain on the stock. I would definitely consider it if I hadn’t just bought a Scout version of it a couple of months ago. A little too soon to try to justify getting another one at this point .
  10. @10-Ring What about this place for skeet? https://www.nashvillegunclub.com/ It’s off Briley on the west side of Nashville.
  11. Thanks! That’s helpful. I’ve read they also have spotting scopes available, or would it be better to bring my own? Do the shooting benches have seats or stools? I’ve been going to the Cheatham WMA range and that has worked out well so far. No range officers, but the users have been good about going cold as needed. It hasn’t been very busy the few times I’ve gone, but that might change as the weather improves. The main downsides are having to haul all your stuff in (target stand, stool, scope, etc.), and no toilet facilities, but those are minor issues. And the limited hours (10 am - 2 pm). My other spot is Royal Range, but I like shooting outdoors whenever possible. Especially for running my M14 .308. Cheers!
  12. I wanted to get info on people’s experience at the Stones River Hunter Ed range. Reviews on Google are positive, but was hoping to get some thoughts from this forum. It’s on the other side of Nashville from where I live, but I wouldn’t mind trying out the 200 yd range. Does it get pretty busy? It’s only open 3 days per week, so I imagine it does. Any suggestions on times to avoid? Is it more or less busy certain times of the year? Can you use your own targets or must you buy theirs? What limits on target size, etc.? Any other comments? Thanks.
  13. Welcome from Nashville. Hopefully you’ll share some of that 40 years of experience.
  14. Hi all, New member from Nashville. Getting back into shooting after a long hiatus. Currently have a recently acquired Fulton Armory M14 Scout Squad rifle (my tastes tend to run old school ). Looking to branch out into pistols, and maybe some other rifles down the road. Hopefully I can contribute something useful to the discussions. Cheers!
