  1. Carry one everyday , my favorite CCW . I use shield mags . Leather holster on leather belt . I probally am about as rough on a CCW as it gets . My gun has been dropped several times , still no issues . Not a fan of the MOS reflex sight , I took it off . In my environment it gets dirty very quick . So I just use open sights
  2. Update , Fired 25 rounds through gun it functioned flawless . Also put 25 rounds through my CMP WW2 Remington Rand M1911.
  3. Trout farm is closed for fishing. They sell all their fish commercially . I been here a long time , never heard anyone say that bill Dance owned it. I would be interested to know if he really did own it at one time.
  4. Funny how they have the caliber as .38. cigarette guns were put together by GI s or civilians after the factories were liberated . They were assembled from whatever they could find in the factory . It looks like your serial number ends in A if so then your gun was assembled in Feb of 45 . The cigarette guns were from C and D block of production . still you have awsome piece of history.
  5. I think you stated you possibly have the capture papers from the Army . if so that really is very neat because after 80 years very few papers still exist with the weapons. It would be neat to see a picture of the papers . I have the capture papers to a German Luger on of my uncles brought back from WW2 , another family member currently has the gun . But someday soon they will be reunited . It is my understanding that most people did not even go to the trouble to get these papers , most just brought their souvenirs home in their bags or shipped them home without papers . It’s possible that you have a cigarette gun , the Walther plant was captured by US forces in April of 1945 . Late in the war in April of 1945, Walther was assembling “B” block guns when they were captured by the 90th armored division. Many of these “Cigarette” pistols were assembled for the GIs by plant employees out of available parts bins in trade for “necessities”. That is the reason virtually none of these have matching numbers,
  6. I picked up this Colt M1911 couple years ago , did not pay much attention to it. I knew it had several incorrect parts on it. I put it in safe and forgot about until yesterday . I got it out and was looking it over , I noticed when you pulled the slide back and dropped it the hammer would fall and strike firing pin . I could tell it had some kind of custom trigger and hammer on it. If you turned to to the left when you racked the slide the takedown leaver would fall completely out sometimes . The trigger had about 3 pounds of pull before it went off , you could almost blow on trigger and gun would go off. so I completely disassembled it and what I found suprized me . Don’t know who fabricated this trigger but it was real piece of work . I replaced the trigger , hammer , grip safety , mag release spring , both plungers and spring , barrel, and barrel link . And cleaned it up , it appeard it had not been cleaned in a very long time . I will shoot it in next couple days to test function and accuracy . And yes I know the parts I replaced on the gun are not 100 percent correct for time period this gun was manufactured .
  7. I bought from them twice very easy transactions .
  8. I would not refinish it . I have seen many WW2 firearms in similar condition . possibly did not have very good finish on it when new .
  9. New to group , collector if all things military and antique arms . life member tennessee military collectors association , benefactor life member NRA .
