In my experience, Blackhorn is quite a bit cleaner than White Hots. In range testing, I was able to go 5-6 shots with Blackhorn without even a dry patch through the bore and still maintain accuracy, while I could not get anywhere close to that with White Hots (maybe 2-3). Only downside is Blackhorn is a loose powder only, and so is not as convenient. White Hots did well with my chosen projectile (Barnes SpitFire TMZ, 250gr).

I also have a CVA Acura MR with the nitride Bergara barrel - quite satisfied with accuracy through 200 yards using Blackhorn 209 powder (requires purchase of a separate Quick Release Breech Plug to use Blackhorn powder). Performance is quite good with IMR White Hots, Pyrodex pellets, etc - Blackhorn is just so much cleaner.

Several folks I shoot with use Wally World Federals with no problem at all. Not sure how well those hulls might reload, if you are ever inclined to go that route though. Remmie Gun Club/STS/Premier will reload a bunch of times before giving up the ghost - I've got some Gun Club hulls that I've reloaded 7-8 times at least and they are still good. I've migrated to shooting 7/8 oz at 1275 fps for singles and first shot doubles, and 1 oz at 1275 for handicap and second shot doubles (both using size 7 1/2 shot). Saves significant wear and tear on these old shoulders.

I enjoyed hiding puzzle caches. Some required a bit of cipher-busting, some required internet searches...even did a "Hoplophilia" series of caches where you had to retrieve info RE caliber, military designations, history etc to solve. They were all well-received in the area. Multi's are pretty cool, too - you can have a lot of fun with those.

Wife and I played to about 8 years or so, until grandkids and health issues created a need for a course correction. Lotta fun, and sure saw a lot of places I never know existed. Enjoy!

Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 39, Chapter 17, Part 13, is amended by adding the following as a new section: (a) A person, business, or other entity that owns, controls, or manages property and has the authority to prohibit weapons on that property by posting, pursuant to §39-17-1359, shall be immune from civil liability with respect to any claim based on such person's, business's or other entity's failure to adopt a policy that prohibits weapons on the property by posting pursuant to §39-17-1359. (b) Immunity under this subsection (a) does not apply to a person, business, or other entity whose conduct or failure to act is the result of gross negligence or willful or wanton misconduct. SECTION 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2016, the public welfare requiring it.

Looks like you are correct.  The House substituted with the Senate bill, which was passed in the Senate with amendments 1, 2, 4 and 5 attached.  SA0999 was Amendment 3.

As Omega opined, you'd pretty much hafta know it as soon as you pulled the loader handle cause the crimp would be beyond horrible.  I grabbed a wad that was missing the powder cup once (Downrange manufacturing mistake) and used it - fingers of the crimp went so deep I could just pour the shot straight back into the bottle with no problem.

Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 49, Chapter 7, Part 1, is amended by adding the following as a new, appropriately designated section: No public postsecondary institution shall take any adverse or disciplinary action against an employee or student of the postsecondary institution solely for such person's transportation and storage of a firearm or firearm ammunition in compliance with § 39-17-1313 while on or using a parking area located on property owned, used, or operated by the postsecondary institution. SECTION 2. And you really think, with the buttload of money Haslam is sitting on and can magically funnel in any direction he pleases (through his variety of PACs), that those you just mentioned (such as Harwell, McCormick, Kelsey, Sargent, Coley ad infinitum) will just dismiss his "desires" and go about their merry way?  Not in this state...

Yes, that's the old "carrot on a stick" idea that the TN GA has kicked around the curb since at last 2009 (maybe before) in numerous summer study sessions.  Guess they finally felt they had to trot out this indirect/persuasion method in lieu of actually having some 'nads...I seriously do not see a single business being persuaded by this carrot, given the load of bilge they've already been fed by their internal legal consultants/departments and the Chamber's hired manure-shovelers.

Given recent history, I'm betting that such an attempt wold be torpedoed by leadership and their minions based upon the change in intent from the original caption - which, in the case of this bill, is pretty specific: "rewrites the minimum requirements for phrases and symbols on signs prohibiting firearms in certain places open to the public."  Don't believe you could get away with trying to pigeonhole an attempt to remove the criminal penalty/code within the bounds of the already established caption language, particularly in an atmosphere where such a change is not viewed favorably by those who hold the reins.

I've worked on the SA Garand and the Underwood Carbine a fair amount.  The HRA Garand, the Johnson and the Win Carbine just got low gloss tung oil after a good cleaning with Old Tom's mix.

Thanks.  Been very fortunate, and very blessed, to have the opportunity.  They all take regular trips to the range - I gotta admit, shooting the Johnson may be my favorite.  But there is something about that 'ping' that keeps me coming back for more.

Well, my heart just breaks for both of 'em...

Live in E TN, but venture into the midlands a few times a year.  I reload Gun Clubs for trap - usually get anywhere from 5 to 8 loads per hull.  Depending on price point and timing, I could be in for a K or so.  Any possibility to hook up at the TN State Trap event in June?  Or do you guys head east for any shoots (or to the KY State)?

Looking at timings, etc, it appears that the "deal" McAuliffe brokered was in the works long before Slatery put pen to paper.  This one reeks of internal VA politics - McAuliffe used the AG and the VSP to take an action guaranteed to pressure the legislature, which in turn pushed back, eventually resulting in a deal that really accomplished very little of any substance...except, perhaps, to get all the gun control activist groups in VA now royally pissed at McAuliffe for reneging on the action they wanted without ever consulting with them before scuttling the ship.  Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of ingrates...
