Admit It -- Who's Waiting In Line Tonight for BF3?
Karnage replied to xRUSTYx's topic in General Chat
Pre ordered both BF3 and COD MW3 for PS3 from Amazon. The UPS guy will deliver my BF3 tomorrow. -
There is no difference. The magazines for a P85, P89, P93, P94, and P95 will all work. Save yourself some frustration and buy either the Ruger factory mags or Mecgar. Those are the only ones that I have ever had any luck with.

+1 on Crossbreed. I carry my Glock 27 in one and I love it. Sent from my GtabComb using Tapatalk

Ok, field strip the pistol and look at the trigger bar. There is probably a rub mark or gouge on the trigger bar just above the frame on the right side of the pistol. There is a photo in this thread DOES YOUR NEW 30SF HAVE THESE INDICATIONS ?. If there is, it is caused by the slide rubbing against the trigger bar. It is a common cause of failure to return to battery in the SF models. Glock has an updated trigger bar that is supposed to fix the problem. The part is marked 4256-1-. The part number is SP 07649. I showed my 30SF with "the mark" to the Glock LE District Manager in June 2010. He said that he had never seen or heard of the problem before, even though the problem is widespread. It seems that the updated trigger bar has worked for some and not worked for others. I would try the updated trigger bar first. If need be, you can send it back to the factory and they will make it right.

Is it a 30 or 30SF ? If it is a 30 I would try a new recoil spring. If it is a 30SF it could be the recoil spring or another problem that is exclusive to the SF models.

You are thinking of Tactical Arms with Larry Vickers. I listen to the Guntalk podcasts when I'm in the car. My wife even enjoys it even though she would never admit it.

I received my kit in the mail on Friday. I anxiously opened the package and looked at the parts. After reading the installation instructions my first thought was wow, why didn't I think of that? The instructions are very well written and I think that anyone even without any prior knowledge of the AR platform could easily install the kit. Installation took about five minutes. The only tools needed are a straight screwdriver, 1/8" hex wrench, and a 3/16" hex wrench. After installation of the kit there is absolutely zero take up on the trigger. After releasing the trigger the trigger returns to the point of reset and no further. Pros Easy Installation. Makes a noticeable difference in trigger. Does not permanently alter your firearm. Cons None that I have found. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/gear-classifieds/62262-ar-trigger-improvement-kits.html Thanks again for the kit Mr. & Mrs. Dolomite. I think you have a great product and I wish you the best of luck.

The Glock 20 is built on the large frame 10mm/.45acp. The Glock 22 is built on the smaller 9mm/.40 S&W/.45gap frame. Neither the slide, barrel or magazines from a Glock 22 is interchangeable with the Glock 20. To use the conversion barrels you have to continue using the Glock 20 magazine. Where were you on the morning of September 11, 2001?

I was in a barber shop waiting to get a haircut. A lady from one of the stores next door runs in and says you guys need to turn on the TV. We saw the smoke coming from the first tower. My first thought was that plane must have had some huge mechanical problem. I mean how else could a plane hit such a huge building especially when there was not a cloud in the sky. When I saw the second plane hit it was painfully obvious that it was no accident. Like everyone else I spent the rest of the day glued to the television. I have had the opportunity to train with some NYPD HIDTA guys since then. Their office is just a few blocks from WTC. To hear their experiences of that day is gut wrenching. I remember feeling very helpless. A group of officers from my department, who were also trained as firefighters, volunteered to go to NYC to help but we were told we were not needed. Which made me feel even more helpless as all I could do was watch the recovery on TV. -
This is what you are looking for CCR-REFINISHING Cera Plate is a nickel boron coating like Fail Zero. They have done work for me in the past, including plating an AR bolt and carrier. They recently plated the slide of my HK USP in Cera Plate and it looks great. Their work is top notch and affordable.

I'm interested.

For around $300 you can get a new Ruger p95, a new Taurus 24/7, and a few others. I would look at some police trade guns at GT Distributors G T Distributors Contact Info . In Knoxville you can check out Craig's Firearm Supply, Inc. Police Distributors . For around $300 you can usually get a trade in Glock or older S&W.

He must have had a public defender.

I'm doing well Michael. How about you?

I have one and love it. I only tried using a 223 magazine once and it didn't work. It was a Magpul Pmag. The 5.45 ammo made the mag bulge and I couldn't insert it in the magwell. Now you can find the Cproducts 5.45 mags for around $10.00. If you buy a 5.45 upper get a chrome lined barrel. The cheap surplus ammo is corrosive.

Agreed, but probably won't happen.

I agree with you. I like the interchangeable backstraps on the Gen 4 , but they should have left the trigger parts the way they were. You could always try modifying a trigger bar as Victor suggested. Just keep a stock part in case it doesn't work or ever needs to be sent in for service.

UPDATE ! Yes, you can put an old style trigger bar in the Gen 4 pistols, But the old style trigger bar also has a bump(part# sp07649). I just checked my Gen 3 G30 it has a trigger bar with a bump marked 4256-1. Tenifer and Glock 30 you're both right, but it is closer in size to the Glock 23. The Glock 30 is 6.77" long , 4.76" high and 1.27" wide. The Glock 26/27 is 6.29" long, 4.17" high and 1.18" wide. The Glock 19/23 is 6.85" long, 5" high and 1.18" wide.

Nothing to worry about. Go shoot some more!

If you are looking for an original Gen 1 or Gen 2 finish check out Lone Wolf Distributors Lone Wolf Distributors - Products - Refinishing For the price you can't really go wrong. They refinished my 15 year old Glock 27 earlier this year and it looks brand new.

I think I have checked a handgun with every major carrier. I keep a roll of clear packing tape inside of my suitcase. After I sign the firearms declaration I tape it to the top of my handgun case inside of the suitcase so there is no doubt the firearm has been declared. Do not put TSA locks on your guncase. TSA says they will never open a case containing a firearm without the owner present.

Yes, I will take care of it for you. I will send you a PM with the info I need.

The parts that were upgraded in 1992 were the Extractor, Spring Loaded Bearing, Trigger Bar, Striker, Firing Pin Safety and Firing Pin Safety Spring. You can field strip the pistol to make sure it was not upgraded. The original parts were black, the new parts are silver. If it has not been upgraded: 1) You can send it to Glock. They will check everything and replace any parts that need to be replaced, including magazines or magazine springs, for FREE. 2) Or you can order the parts yourself, for about $80.00, and replace them yourself. 3) Or you can take the pistol to a Glock Armorer. They can order the parts for you for free and replace for little or no charge. I have heard of safety issues with the old parts and I doubt Glock would have replaced the parts in approximately 500,000 pistols if there was not an issue.

Yeah, I had heard that their quality control was a little lacking on their AR products. I'm sure that with time they will get their AR act together.
