  1. From the GLOCK Armorer's manual the probable causes for erratic ejection or failure to eject are listed as: 1) Broken or damaged ejector - (replace ejector) 2) Underpowered ammunition - (Change ammunition) 3) Dirty chamber - (Clean the chamber) 4) Shooting with an unlocked wrist - (lock shooting hand wrist) 5) Lack of lubrication - (lubricate your firearm properly) 6) Dirty gun - (Clean your firearm properly) If I were you I would try #2 - #6. If you are still having the problem after that I would contact someone in warranty repair at GLOCK (770) 432-1202. If they do not help resolve the problem let me know and I will contact them on your behalf.
  2. Not a bad deal. The last time I rented a plane, about a year and a half ago, it was $100.00 an hour. The website says they also give you a log book, about $10.00.
  3. Wow. My longest shot with a .22lr was 250 yds and I convinced myself it was a world record.
  4. Nope. Completely different mags. The full size mags will not work in the compact.
  5. Tenn. Code Ann. § 39-17-1323 39-17-1323. Commission of certain offenses while wearing a body vest. (a) A person commits an offense who knowingly wears a body vest, when acting either alone or with one (1) or more other persons, while committing: (1) Any felony whose statutory elements involve the use or threat of violence to a human being; (2) Any burglary, car-jacking, theft of a motor vehicle, or arson; or (3) Any felony offense involving a controlled substance. ( For purposes of this section, a "body vest" means a bullet-resistant soft armor providing, as a minimum standard, the level of protection known as threat level I which shall mean at least seven (7) layers of bullet-resistant material providing protection from three (3) shots of one hundred fifty-eight-grain lead ammunition fired from a .38 caliber handgun at a velocity of eight hundred fifty feet (850') per second. © The unlawful wearing of a body vest is a Class E felony. (d) Nothing in this section shall prohibit the possession of a body vest for lawful purposes. (e) Any sentence imposed under this section shall run consecutively to any other sentence imposed for the conviction of the underlying offense. There is also a federal law that says if you have ever been convicted of a violent felony you cannot possess body armor. http://www.gpo.gov/f...ap44-sec931.pdf
  6. You have to be active, reserve, National Guard or retired (with retired military ID). Here is the price list. http://www.edspublicsafety.com/glockindividual.html
  7. Definitely. I bought an OD Glock 32 and about had a heart attack when I went to buy a box of ammo, $28.99 for a box of 50 Remington FMJ. I have a friend that shoots .357 Sig frequently and he has had good results with Georgia Arms "canned heat". http://georgia-arms.com/357sig-1.aspx
  8. The word TASER is often used when referring to any stun gun. Like saying Kleenex (brand) when you need a tissue. Actually stun guns and TASERs are two different animals. A stun gun uses electricity to get someone to comply due to the pain of being shocked. A TASER (when the barbs are launched) interrupts the signals the brain is sending to the muscles in your body causing the muscles in your body to tense up and you fall to the ground. With a stun gun you have to be close enough to your attacker to place it against their body. A TASER can operate as a stun gun would or it can launch barbs (connected to wires connected to the TASER) up to 15 feet, for the civilian version, into your attacker. Stun guns are relatively inexpensive. A civilian model TASER costs around $400.00. Both are legal in Tennessee. In my present occupation I have carried a TASER since 2003. I have witnessed dozens of TASER deployments and in my experience the desired result is achieved about 50% of the time. About 35% of the time that it hasn't worked the person the TASER is deployed on is wearing heavy clothing, the barb gets deflected by seams in jeans or zippers, etc. The remaining 15% of the time I can't explain why the TASER hasn't worked. It just seemed like it did not have any effect on the person. If I had to choose between pepper spray, TASER or a stun gun. I would choose pepper spray because: 1) I could use it without having to be in arms length of my attacker (10ft + effective range) 2) I would have more than 1 deployment. With a TASER once you fire the cartridge you have to reload with a fresh cartridge. 3) Much less expensive than a TASER (which would be my second choice) If you use pepper spray it should be an OC (pepper) CS (tear gas) blend. CS will start working on the bad guy almost immediately. OC takes approximately 60 seconds to achieve maximum effectiveness. The blend of the two is better than any one of them alone.
  9. What ammunition were you using? You haven't shot any unjacketed lead bullets through the barrel have you? I would thoroughly clean the barrel and try a different brand of ammunition. The factory uses Speer Lawman 125 gr FMJ for test firing. You might try using that and see what your results are.
  10. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z7fz0jpuLkM Sorry, I couldn't resist.
  11. I carry a .45 loaded with Speer Gold Dot 230 grain hollow points at work. For practice and qualifications we shoot whatever 230 grain FMJ is the lowest bid. I have shot Remington/UMC, Speer Lawman, Federal American Eagle. We shoot duty ammo once per year. I cannot tell a difference in recoil or point of impact between the FMJ or the hollow points. I imagine if the bullet weight is the same recoil and point of impact will be the same. Hollow point bullets are made to expend all of their energy inside of the target. FMJ bullets may travel completely through the target and hit an unintended target. Keep in mind that there is no ammunition that can guarantee that you can put a man down with a center mass shot. There are many cases where people have taken numerous hits from pistols (even rifles) and continued to fight. My recommendation would be to buy good quality hollow point ammunition for carry. Purchase about 200 rounds and shoot half of it to make sure your firearm functions with the ammunition. Then purchase a full metal jacket ammunition with the same bullet weight for practice.
  12. All of the traffic cameras (red light and speed) have the capability to scan every license plate that passes by and check them through an NCIC wanted file. Local governments can also have them scan for locally wanted persons, unpaid tickets, etc. They can also store that information indefinitely. If you travel through the same section of roadway everyday they can enter your tag number and it will show the times that your tag has been scanned. Most places don't use them this way but the capability is there.
  13. Are you using a different brand or type of ammunition?
  14. Thanks David !
  15. I had the same problem, including seating a fully loaded magazine, when I had my 30. I solved the problem by only loading 9 rounds in the magazine. Then I carried a Glock 21 13rd magazine as a backup. My guess would be that the 10th cartridge just places too much pressure on the bottom of the slide. Maybe if the magazine springs had less tension it would work. Did Glock get your 30 running right?
  16. I have had a Dyson for about 7 years, no problems. It is the best vacuum I have ever owned. We have three dogs that live inside and we vacuum at least once a day. We use it on hardwood, tile and carpet with no problems. If you're going to buy a new one you can get it from bed, bath and beyond and use the 20% off coupon they send out all of the time. We saved close to $100 on ours that way.
  17. My sister had the same problem with her home owners assoc. She called the FCC and they said the home owners assoc. could not tell her that she could not have a dish. FCC sends home owners assoc. a letter stating this and she provided the supporting documentation. Home owners assoc. didn't care until my sister threatened to file a suit. The rule is part of the Telecommunications Act of 1996 (47 C.F.R. Section 1.4000) As long as the dish is installed in an area that is in your exclusive use or control they cannot prohibit you from having a dish. Here is the link in case you want to show your home owners assoc. http://www.fcc.gov/g...on-devices-rule
  18. The only public ranges in the area that I know of are: Jacobs Creek - Denton Valley Road, Sullivan Co. Pond Mountain - Hwy. 321, Carter Co. Scioto - Scioto Road, Unicoi Co. There is a nice indoor range just outside of Johnson City http://www.myshootersedge.com/

  20. http://gregcotellc.com/cart/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=108 has them for $24.95. I ordered some M&P mags from them last month. My order was shipped the same day that the order was placed and I received it in 2 or 3 days. I haven't found M&P mags in stock cheaper than this.
  21. No, the link takes me a gmail log in.
  22. Does it look like this http://www.gunpartscorp.com/SchematicDisplay.aspx?schem=/images/schematics/HighStandard_A1041SportKing_schem.jpg&name=Sport+King+Carbine+A102+%28*%29 If so, it is the same rifle as the High Standard Sport King A102.
  23. I have better luck getting in touch with them by email. Give them a couple of days to reply. Brad and Mary are the only two people that work there and they are usually in the shop all day.
  24. The Sig date codes on German proofed guns are located on the bottom of the slide. Example: code JE would be 1984. A-0 B-1 C-2 D-3 E-4 F-5 G-6 H-7 J-8 K-9

    why a Glock?

Buy whatever feels good in your hands and you can shoot well. Glocks are known for their reliability and durability. (there have been some issues recently) You can get parts almost anywhere and a five year old child could fix it. Parts and accessories are also relatively inexpensive. Excellent customer service.
