  1. I like both chow and beverages.
  2. Hard to beat a 30cal for your first can. I have run mine on 5.56 AR's, 6.5 Creedmoor, multiple 308's, and even my 300 winmag. I now have 5 cans, but don't regret starting off with the 30 cal. Edited: Spelling.
  3. I've been very pleased with the Wheeler kit. Has everything I need for optics, lights, etc.,
  4. Hard to beat an old 1.5 Bianchi.
  5. Another boring g43 here.
  6. Speer gold and Hornady critical duty are used by several Sheriff's Dept. and municipality departments I work with. Glock 22's are still the king for duty handguns in east TN [Edit: didn't realize how old this thread was]
  7. Reviving an old one. Any meet ups planned?
  8. Great bathroom reading for us old guys who aren't on our phones while on the john.
  9. Prices are honestly fairly stable these days. I recommend first choosing a limited set of calibers, say 5.56/9mm or 5.45/40, etc. Pick a pistol and rifle caliber to focus on. Maybe try to acquire 5k of your primary ammo an another 1k for long range/suppressed work, etc. Bulk purchases will normally save you money on shipping.
  10. 2x 22 cans because they are the most fun (and economical) to shoot; 1x 6mm shorty for 55.6/6m; 1x 30 cal for everything up to a winmag; and 1x 5.56 dedicated SPR Mod 0 because its just really cool. Starting over, I would buy a 22 and 30 cal and you're covered. I don't really run cans on pistols though.
  11. I really like the Baofeng uv9r pro, basically a more durable/waterproof uv5. Also comes with a USB/USB-c charging cable so you don't have to rely on the cradle. Slightly better power with more range.
  12. Smokey Mountain Guns and Ammo Knoxville has plenty as well (for those in the area).
  13. I have owned a lot, and I don't know anyone who is disappointed with a BCM 14.5 or 16.
