UPS Doesn't Want Me Shooting My Mosin This Weekend
Motasyco replied to Motasyco's topic in General Chat
You can usually request a signature required delivery if theft is a concern. If you're not there they leave a door tag and you can call them and arrange to pick it up. Just curious but who did you order from that wouldn't provide a tracking number? -
UPS Doesn't Want Me Shooting My Mosin This Weekend

Oh, not postponed. The Carcano ammo I ordered from AIM didn't arrive but I do have a few or 60 rounds I have aquired over the past few weeks by other means. You will shoot the Carcano. -
RIP. The man who brought us The Twentieth Century made it to the 21st. He'll be missed.

UPS Doesn't Want Me Shooting My Mosin This Weekend
Motasyco replied to Motasyco's topic in General Chat
EUREKA! The UPS guy just showed up with my 800 round case. Better late than later. He only had 1 of 2 boxes so I guess the other ammo I ordered is the "forgotten" package that will arrive next week. A partial apology to UPS. They're still holding my Carcano ammo. -
I have an M&P.40 and love it. I have fired a relative's XD 40 and maybe it's because I'm used to the M&P but to me, there was no comparison in the feel. For me, M&P.

Thanks Garufa. Between what I have and the generosity from you and Mike.357, I expect I won't be able to lift my right arm on Sunday. -
UPS Doesn't Want Me Shooting My Mosin This Weekend
Motasyco replied to Motasyco's topic in General Chat
Thank you, kind sir! I do have 40 rounds and judging from what I keep hearing, my shoulder may not last that long. I just needed to rant a little. I was looking forward to that Czech aroma though. If you have a little extra with you just in case I need it, "I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for some ammo today" as Wimpy would say. Or the next time we get together anyway. I am still planning to go tomorrow as I want to shoot my Carcano too. Blackbeltchick has a new 1911 she wants to try out and will be joining me. See you there! Norris at 1. Hope I can find it. -
I ordered my 800 round case of Czech 7.62x54R ammo for my Mosin last Sunday. Placing the order from Aim Surplus was a breeze. Apparently it was the end of their stock because it's no longer available. I was really impressed that they didn't even charge a shipping fee. Tuesday I got an email from them that, oops, they neglected to add a shipping charge to my order but, no problem, they would tack it on to my billing. OK, at least it's coming! I'm not quite as impressed but I got a ship confirmation and it's scheduled to be delivered today, Friday. Alright, ammo for the East TN TGO Shoot Saturday. I came home today from out of town hoping to find a package by the door but not yet. Ok, UPS usually delivers around 6PM. I checked UPS tracking and, yes, it's "OUT FOR DELIVERY". Oh joy! 7 o'clock rolls around and still no UPS. Hmmmm. Let's check the package tracking again. This time it says "THE PACKAGE WAS MISSED AT THE UPS FACILITY, UPS WILL DELIVER ON THE NEXT BUSINESS DAY". Imagine my dismay. Of course, it's now too late to drive over to the UPS facillity to pick it up. Is this some kind of an omen?

LOCAL PARKS WHERE AN OFFICIAL DECISION HAS BEEN MADE
Motasyco replied to Fallguy's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Name of Park: City parks, natural area, historic park, nature trail, campground, forest, greenway, waterway or other public place owned or operated by the town. City or County: Vonore Results of vote: Possession of a handgun to be prohibited Entity taking vote: Vonore Mayor and Aldermen approved a resolution Author: Mia Rhodarmer The Vonore Mayor and Aldermen approved a resolution Tuesday night that would prohibit people from carrying handguns in city parks. Mayor Fred Tallent said he was not against handguns, but did not think people needed them in the parks where children could get hurt if a gun went off accidentally. He said if someone brings a gun to a park, it should be left in the car with the car door locked. The resolution came about after the state General Assembly approved Public Chapter No. 428, which changed the regulations concerning where people could carry guns. Prior to Sept. 1, 2009, carrying a weapon in municipally owned parks, playgrounds, civic centers and other public buildings is a Class A misdemeanor. The new law approved by the General Assembly made it legal to carry a handgun in a public park. However, the state will allow each county and city to adopt resolutions making it illegal. The Vonore resolution prohibits anyone from possessing a handgun while in a city park, natural area, historic park, nature trail, campground, forest, greenway, waterway or other public place owned or operated by the town. Signs will be posted in places where it is illegal to carry a handgun. Violations carry a maximum sentence of 11 months and 29 days and a fine not to exceed $2,500. I have an electronic locked safe. It works with two combinations. I have one and my wife has one. I don't know hers and she doesn't know mine but we both have access.

ATF KILLS TN FIREARMS FREEDOM ACT!
Motasyco replied to GLOCKMEISTER's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Personally, it's not the NFA issue I'm concerned with. I really don't need a suppressor, regardless of where it comes from. My concern is the that the federal government is acting beyond the intentions of the Constitution. This is just a means to get this into the courts to see if we, as a country, stand by the Constitution as intended or do we disregard it. I feel that if we further disregard our Constitution we are continuing down a dangerous path we have already begun to follow. This is a turning point for our future. Are we the country we thought we were or are we now something else. I'm truely concerned about the outcome of this and for me, it has nothing to do with where my firearms parts come from. It has to do with where my country is headed. -

My .45 1911 has less recoil than my .357 revolver. At least it feels that way. It may help that the 1911 fits the hand so well.

I think that's the 10th ammendment part. -

I'm pretty sure Montana has passed a similar law but it's not yet in effect. I also think Texas is coming on board. I believe the intention here was not so much a firearm bill but a constitutional challange to a too big for it britches federal government. -
Looks like we need some thread merging.

ATF KILLS TN FIREARMS FREEDOM ACT!
Motasyco replied to GLOCKMEISTER's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
And the battle begins. I don't believe this was unexpected. According to the 10th ammendment, the state has authority. Tennessee is applying it's constitutional rights. The feds are saying, no, the constitution doesn't count. Calling all lawyers! -
