  1. The lord provided me with the means to own guns and expects me to take it from there. He has more important things to take care of in this crazy world than being a bodyguard for me. I do wish he could put me onto a few hundred rounds of .45 ACP though.
  2. It's all just a bunch of ones and zeros. Which do they have a problem with? The ones or the zeros? I think it's pretty clear the government like zeros. I see them adding zeros to to lots of things. Must be the ones.
  3. I agree, that is a problem. If he was parked, there was no longer a threat to safety. But what's to say he doesn't get back behind the wheel before he's sober. If you're actually driving erratically, you need to be stopped. Drunk or not. If you are not driving erratically, even if you may have been, there should be no justification for contact. In the case cited, yes, the driver deserved what he got but how many tips will lead to a parked vehicle with a drunk sitting inside. I suspect most tips would lead to a vehicle still on the road and a LEO would have the opportunity to observe.
  4. If I called in a tip on every vehicle I see that is unable to keep it between the lines (apparently, for many drivers, they're merely a suggestion of where to drive) or driving erratically, I would consider myself to be a danger for being on the phone all the time while driving. There can't possibly be that many drunk drivers out there. That must mean most erratic drivers either don't care about safe driving or are part of the "the rules don't apply to me" group. As a technical and safety instructor I probably pay too much attention to the way others drive but it does seem that driving skills are no longer required to obtain a license. Rant over. I think a LEO following up on a tip is fine as long as that's not the only criteria for a stop. Get a tip, follow up on it. Make your own observation. If the driving observed warrants a stop, then I'm all for it. If not, leave it be. Pretty simple concept.
  5. wow, still going......
  6. Another plus for .40 is the fact that when I run down my ammo list at Walmart I get no, no, no, no, no, yes we do have some .40 S&W, how many do you want?
  7. I've seen Penn Jillette on Glen Beck before. A very interesting discussion. He is an active llibertarian and represents them well but not interested in running for office. I was suprised that I was aligned with many of his his ideas.
  8. But she's got a great personality!
  9. Hmmm. Do you mean time to make the video or do you mean time to stumble onto something like this?
  10. So, if you have a gun in Canada there's no fooling around. It's got to be big. I like some Canadian concepts. This rates right up there with cheese curds and gravy on fries. I envy you. I've always wanted to travel around Alaska. So far I've only seen it a few times from the air. Well...and on tv. Take lots of pictures to share with us.
  11. I don't want to play favorites, I collect all three calibers, but perhaps the .40s are just more sensitive. Extreme sensitivity, in today's PC world, merits extra coddling, doesn't it? We wouldn't want them offended or stressed. Maybe if the 9s and 45s whined a bit they could be coddled too.
  12. You best look beyond just the states. Unless you're taking a ferry from Seattle to Alaska, you're passing through Canada. Even then you may still be passing through Canadian waters. I don't know Canadian laws but I would sure investigate this. If taking the ferry, they may have rules of their own. If driving, you're crossing the border. Check it out, eh.
  13. Both sides could have handled it better.
  14. That thing is homemade. Dad has an interesting hobby.
  15. 2000 ft up. They're clearing Denver airspace.
  16. On Fox news right now. A 6 year old boy is stranded in a loose balloon in Colorado. Looks like a UFO but it's a hot air balloon.
  17. Then a class in east TN would be the ticket. That makes two of us. I know one other that would likely be interested. I'll bring this up at the local gun shop to see if they may be interested in involvement. They do HCP classes so why not this? Maybe bring in an instructor if needed. If there's enough interest, perhaps we can make an east TN class happen. Thoughts?
  18. Just what is the law in Tennessee regarding expandable batons.
  19. would miss it
  20. I grow weary
  21. I always check out my wife's guns before she buys one. And she'll do the same if she's with me when I'm looking. That's the first thing that struck me when I watched it. Small with a lot of punch? Perfect for a woman. I also look at vehicles with her before she buys one. Same difference. Don't get me wrong, if a law was broken, then there should be punishment but let's be sure.
  22. I kind of feel bad that I didn't get a PM.
  23. it's an addiction
  24. can't not post
