I'm with you. Well.....not really with you but I'll be watching it too from a totally different location.

My wife and I are planning to attend a show at the Ryman Auditorium soon. We plan to stay at a hotel downtown and walk to the show. We feel we would be much safer walking in downtown Nashville if carrying. Does anyone know the Ryman's policy on handgun carry? There appears to be no mention of it on their website. I'd hate to walk to the show and find that handguns are not permitted and they have someone at the door waving the magic wand over over you. We are also fans of Stacy Mitchhart who plays regularly at BB Kings and would like to catch his show while in town. Is BB Kings posted? Thanks in advance for any info.

Thanks! I'm signed up. Now if we had something like this for our state legislators I would really feel more informed.

The mini guns are cool but I prefer many guns.

Chemical Warfare, The Geneva Convention and the Perfume Counter at Macy's...
Motasyco replied to TMMT's topic in General Chat
The perfume terrorists are everywhere. There's not much more disgusting than a mouth full of perfume from some woman that pours it on before boarding a plane and then sitting down beside you. There's nowhere to escape. Or walking down the aisle in a supermarket or even Walmart and walking into an invisible cloud of perfume. The perfume particles coat the inside of my mouth and I can't get rid of the taste. Perhaps if these women would shower occasionally they wouldn't have to cover their smell by splashing on several ounces of cheap perfume. I'd rather walk into a cloud of flatulence, at least that doesn't usually stick to the inside of my mouth. (Although I recall recently hearing of a very unfortunate flatulence incident at a Tennessee gun show) On the other hand, I've been told that I must have a super sensitive smeller. Is it just me or have you also experienced this type of despicable olfactory assault? -
Your standard 20 amp circuit in your vehicle is only going to support about 240 watts. Not much heat. Anything more will require additional heavy gauge wiring. Converting DC to AC doesn't create additional power (wattage) it just changes the voltage. Voltage and power are two different, although related, things. Not intending to get into an electronics lesson but output power of an inverter cannot exceed input power. Your engine creates heat that has to be dissipated whether you use it or not. Bite the the bullet and fix the heater.

Any support for target shooting on public land?
Motasyco replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
We are the public. We should get to make the rules for the use of "our" land. I would expect that most people that would not support target shooting on our public land are people that wouldn't venture into the woods anyway. But it is their land too. I agree that your state legislators are the place to start. We need to wield the power of the vote. -
At least I know it's not just me.

I'm beginning to experience withdrawal symptoms. Anxiety, shakes, some sweating. Yes, I believe I'm going into Gunbroker withdrawal. I haven't been able to get onto the Gunbroker site for well over 12 hours. Maybe it's just me. Is anyone else having this same experience? I seem to be able to reach any other site I want, just no Gunbroker. I'm sure I must be missing great opportunities on the items on my watch list. I can't get to my favorite seaches. There's probably Ed Brown customs selling for $400 and I can't get there. Can you get there? Anyone? Bueller?

Anyone see this poll at USA Today? Vote!
Motasyco replied to E4 No More's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Why you want to go and spoil our fun like that Mr Garufa? I did think it had a high number of total votes for a new poll but I liked the results. -

Interesting Question posed to me today
Motasyco replied to dunndw's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I believe we still are the greatest country in the world. And I have visited many of them. There's no place like home. I will admit that many things have changed in my lifetime but I'm not aware of any place that is immune to change. As we get older, I think we all long for "the good old days". I do. -
Nice for only $17. I guess I'll have to get me one of each. Taking a tip from another thread, I guess I could use a Sharpie on it.

With no interference intended, just trying to help, here's a couple. One's pretty cheap. The other, the Bill Blass camp shirt is twice as much but I have a few of these I got from my employer with their logo and they are really nice. I've been wearing them for several years and they're holding up very well. I do realize you'd have to add a few dollars to the cost for the logo and to maintain a reasonable margin but these probably are worth close to $50 retail. That still seems reasonable compared to what I see at the local HD (High Dollar?) motorcycle dealer for a similar shirt with their logo. Just throwing these out there as options. I realize not everyone wants to pay $50 for a shirt. The $18 shirts though? That's hard to beat if they're reasonable quality. Is there any update on the camp shirts? I didn't see any at the TGO online store.

Violating company policy may not put you in jail but it could sure put you in the unemployment line.

You maybe didn't, by your actions, give him a reason to fear you. The problem may be the fact that LEOs around the country are shot from the windows of stopped vehicles. You can't always identify a nutcase by looking at him or talking to him. If I were a LEO, I would be nervous about every vehicle I approached. You knew that you were no threat but how could he be 100% sure? One way would be for him to have control of your weapon during the stop. He returned it. He didn't damage it. He didn't keep your ammo. He didn't scatch the paint on your roof. He lived to go home to his family. You didn't go to jail. I fail to see any harm done. You just didn't get your way. Did you feel that you were going to need it to defend yourself during the duration of the stop? Sometimes the path of least resistance is the truely the best way to go. It's done and there have got to be more important things in your life to expend your energy on. Relax. I'm not saying that you shouldn't stand up for your rights but pick your battles. Some things just aren't worth the aggravation.

I can't say for sure but I suspect drunks doing community service would not be open carrying. Al least for very long.
