  1. Like this? Or this?
  2. Is it time?
  3. I notice there's also an Obama Action Figure. I know there's a joke here I just can't quite put my finger on it.
  4. An electric knife works well on foam. Not so much with the detail work. What you need is a miniature electric knife. I'll get to work on that. In the mean time, if the foam is layered and you're cutting a shape all the way through the layer, an electric knife works well. A little silicone spray from the auto department of WalMart will help as a lube if you're really cutting a lot. If it's not layered foam, you can make a layer as thick as the item you're cutting it for by slicing a foam layer with the electric knife. Like slicing off a slice of bread. Once you cut out the shapes, use a spray adhesive to glue the layers back together if desired. I've done this a number of times making packing cases for electronic equipment.
  5. Maybe it was really an equal sign =
  6. Oh, I thought this was about motor oil.
  7. There are rifles, shotguns, revolvers, pistols, and 1911s. 1911s are, and deserve, a class of their own.
  8. We'll be expecting a review. And apparently, a location where it's showing would be helpful.
  9. I'm in no hurry to see 2012, well, except for the election that will happen then. The movie can wait. I've seen the trailers and yes, GCI gone wild. Although I'm sure The Road will have some CGI, I hope they didn't rely on it for every scene in the movie. The worst case of CGI I've seen so far was 300. I'd heard so much about how great it was and I had to turn it off. Might as well watch a cartoon. So, has anybody seen The Road?
  10. Dang, I hate CGI! Seems Hollywood can't turn out anything real anymore.
  11. Congrats! Time to do the Wally World Walk.
  12. Hey now!
  13. I bought the book and read it. Now the movie is out and, although I haven't been in a theater in years, I want to go see this film. The reviews I've read are good and it's apparently in wide distribution. It doesn't appear to be playing anywhere in my area! I could go see a vampire movie popular with young girls, a rehash of Dickens, even a couple of animated movies or kiddie comedies. I can't go see The Road. Are adults not permitted in movie theaters any more? Maybe I need to move from Podunkville. What gives? Anybody seen it yet?
  14. Couldn't be. He apparently remembered where he had put his keys.
  15. I have an RIA compact. It feeds fine with FMJ but when using JHP with original mag it fails to feed. When using a CMC mag they seem to feed fine.

    Bud's Gunshop

I've bought a couple of times from Bud's. Smooth, quick, and easy. I was completely satisfied. But I didn't have to call them. I agree, it is very frustrating when you can't talk to a real person when you call a business. And one you can understand.
  20. I have a wood smoker and an electric smoker. Both work very well. If people are here and I'm smoking, I like to use the wood smoker for authenticity. You know, up all night, tending the smoker, making sure the temperature stays in the right range. (Beer may enter into the process) If it's just my wife and I, I take the shortcut and use the electric. Doesn't require any babysitting. Put a few chunks of wook in the box, set the temperature and let it be until the meat is done. I usually do pork butt and it takes about 15 to 16 hours with either smoker running about 215 to 220 degrees. Turkey takes about half the time. I go by meat temperature, not hours. Low and slow is the key. The truth is, the results are about the same with either method. The wood smoker for show, the electric smoker for ease. I use the same wood either way. Just different size chunks. For a beginner, the electric is the easiest to get good results. Here's the electric: SmokinTex | Barbecue Electric Smoker Ovens | Commercial, Residential, and Catering The wood smoker is a standard indirect heat type. Wood and heat in a firebox at one end, chimney at the other end. It looks like a big horizontal barrel with firebox attached to one end. This is not exactly it but this is the style of construction: Tejas barbecue pit smokers . Houston Texas Whatever type of smoker you get, you will not be disappointed. And you'll find that you have friends and neighbors you didn't know you had.
  21. A group of us should go together, lease some land, and have our own range. I hate driving over an hour to get to a range and then have to wait an hour or two to shoot while someone else is waiting for me to finish so they can shoot. When living in NC, I had a friend that belonged to a "hunting club". A group of about twenty guys that leased some land. I think they each kicked in a couple of hundred bucks a year (this was twenty years ago). There was a cabin on the property, nothing fancy, and they used the place year round for hunting, shooting, cookouts, and just general get out of town time. I suspect finding a group of guys would be pretty easy. Finding the property to lease is another story. Just thinking (dreaming) out loud.
  22. I sure feel involved.

    Thank You

Thank you and Thank you! Happy Thanksgiving.
  24. Come on!
  25. One of my smokers comes out every Thanksgiving. I can almost smell it now. I always through in a little maple with the hickory. It adds a nice touch to the flavor.
