  1. I seem to recall the big storm happening in March of 93. March 13 I believe. I was living in Asheville NC at the time. It couldn't have been 94, I was living in Georgia then.
  2. Yeah, fat chance.
  3. I have never watched an entire episode of the Waltons. I just figured it was like Little House On the Prairie without birth control.
  4. If you have a well, don't forget to set some water aside for flushing the toilet.
  5. That's no problem for me. I'm here until next week. The rain we've had in Ft Worth today is the storm headed for TN. Thunder and lightning and HEAVY rain since mid morning. The concrete "rivers" are rushing several feet deep. If the storm intensity continues and it drops below freezing, it could be ugly in TN. The temperature here today was well above freezing but there were still numerous accidents resulting from the heavy rain. It took me about 45 minutes to travel about 4 miles to my hotel. They're calling for ice in the morning. Glad I'm driving a rental car and not my own. Be safe everyone. I know all of us here at TGO are excellent drivers but the crazies will be out seeking bread and milk. I've never experienced the bread and milk with snow craving but it's apparently quite strong in some people. I can only speculate but it must be like wanting beer on a hot day?
  6. Wallet. Never considered any other place.
  7. Let it snow! I'm in Texas.
  8. I made my own white dots on my RIA compact with white fingernail polish. Less than $2 in material and about two minutes of my time. Used a toothpick to apply the polish. The results are quite functional and have not worn off. What have you got to lose? A good temporary measure if nothing else.
  9. A lot of good and bad memories from those days. All things considered, I miss it. Life seemed much simpler then. I never had any problems with the hippie culture until I was spit on and called a baby killer by a few hippie looking kids while I was in uniform. Unlike today, we weren't considered heros for serving during that war.
  10. I hope the Saints beat those Baltimore Traitors, now days known as the Indianapolis Colts. When the going gets tough, the Colts will just pack up and move.
  11. An enlightened choice. Welcome to the fold.
  12. Very nice. You just don't see many dressed up Marlin 60s. It seems there's not much in the way of aftermarket goodies specifically for the 60. The 10/22s get all of the attention. I have a Marlin 60. Had it for many years. My kids grew up shooting it. It still shoots great today. Most of us just add a cheap scope and it's ready to drive tacks. It's interesting to see someone go the extra mile.
  13. What he said. I do try to keep it covered but I'm not obsessive about it.
  14. S&W M&P15
  15. The Wally World Walk is to help break in your HCP. Help's you get past that "everyone is looking at me carrying a gun" feeling. And you may find some ammo!
  16. Here's our pup. This is how he was dressed for Halloween. Yep, he's packin'.
  17. Congratulations!
  18. Somebody else got my share.
  19. You sold your house in today's market? She ought to be doing backflips and offering you mysterious pleasures. Not necessarily in that order.
  20. B. Suprise! And it's not the only suprise they'll have coming.
  21. Cable modems are DOCSIS compliant. They require a downstream RF carrier level of -15 dBmV to +15 dBmV. Any carrier level too high or too low can cause problems. Temperature affects the attenuation of the cable in the system. If the amplifier's AGCs are not properly set up, this cold weather we've been having could cause RF levels to rise at amplifier locations causing unwanted distortions that could impact modem performance. This same effect could also cause levels at the home to increase in the cold weather. Not saying this is the case but it could be what the technicians are dealing with. No, I don't work for Comcast so this is speculation but it fits with the current weather situation.

    Man vs Wild

Les Stroud is the man. I didn't know he quit making Survivorman. I'm going to miss that. He played pretty decent guitar and harmonica too. Loved the episode where he caught his shelter on fire.
  23. You're lucky to have found the one you have. I also have a CBOB. The more you shoot it, the more you're going to like it. Great gun.
