  1. I'm thinking alcohol was served at Soccer Taco.
  2. It's pretty easy to buy and own a gun in Tennessee. Shooting one? Not so much.
  3. As a former motorcycle safety instructor, I wholeheartedly agree. There is something to be gained even for seasoned riders.
  4. Statistics say every rider will experience one serious accident in a lifetime of riding. I had mine back in '86 so I'm good to go!
  5. Every time I drive by there I think to myself, I need to stop in there. And then I think about where to park and then I drive on. I know it's not that hard to find a parking place but it's just not as convenient as an actual parking lot. I'm sure I'll visit them soon. Thanks for the report.
  6. I've owned many boats over the years. Often, more than one at a time. Add some fresh fuel, stick that outboard in a trash can full of water and fire it up! Don't wait until you put the boat in the water. You don't want to be that guy at the ramp that's holding up traffic while trying to get his boat started. Put the trash can in place BEFORE you fill it with water. Just slide it up under the lower unit. Make sure the water level is above the water inlet holes in the drive. Don't engage the prop unless you just feel you have to and unless you're at an idle, and then be very careful. Or, and probably the better option if you're going to keep the boat, go to the boating department at WalMart and get some earmuffs. They're not really called earmuffs but they look like earmuffs. You attach a water hose to it and it goes over the water inlet holes. Turn on the water and start the motor. I wouldn't engage the prop. I just did this myself a few weeks ago. I then have confidence about dropping it in the lake. I wouldn't drag a boat to the ramp if I wasn't sure it was ready to go. I try to run my fuel as low as possible when I'm ready to put mine away for the winter. It's a good idea to keep the tank as near full as possible prior to this last trip of the season. You'll then have a very good reason to spend an entire day on the lake running out the fuel. Enjoy.
  7. I have a RIA Tactical and it has performed flawlessly and accurately. Buy the RIA and take the money you saved and buy a bunch of ammo.
  8. My wife has a Plinkerton 22lr. I enjoy it too. It's very accurate and has never missed a beat. You can't beat it for the price.
  9. +1 Way to go! A win for the good guys.
  10. It's simply a matter of priority. Beer is not a priority. Defense of my family and myself is.
  11. My son is now out of the ICU and into a regular hospital room. I have returned home to get back to life as usual here in Tennessee. He lives and is hospitalized in upstate NY and it's still winter up there! I'm glad to be back where it's warm. Again, I want to thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers. It was comforting to know you were praying for his recovery and I believe it made a difference. He was in very bad shape and the doctors were unsure if he would make it. He will still be hospitalized for a little while longer before returning to the physical rehabilitation facility to resume learning to walk on his prosthetic leg. The diabetes makes him vulnerable to infection and that's how this episode started and he'll need to watch this closely. His positive attitude is amazing for a young man with so many strikes against him. Thank you all for your support. I can't express how much it has meant to me and my family. Y'all are the best!
  12. Good luck Cody. Out thoughts and prayers follow you.
  13. All of your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated. The support from TGO has been overwhelming and I believe it has helped. My son is still in ICU but he is showing some improvement. Other than getting some occasional sleep, I've been nearly constantly by his side. He was very sick and the doctors caution that he's not out of the woods yet but I believe he's turned the corner and is moving toward recovery. Thank you all again for your thoughts an prayers.
  14. Thank you all so very much. He's still hanging in there.
  15. My son is in intensive care and the prognosis isn't good. We are gathering the family. He's had serious problems with diabetes and congestive heart failure. The doctors are doing what they can but they're not optimistic. He's a young guy in his 30s so I'm not giving up hope but he needs all the help he can get. Please, if you pray, pray for him. His name is David. Thank you.

  17. Let's encourage unemployment. Then the rest of us that don't like our jobs, but keep showing up, can support you. Bad job or no job? Study shows unemployment may be a better choice "Bad job or no job? Study shows unemployment may be a better choice
  18. The sheriff in my county signed mine and sent them back to me although he didn't need to. As said above, just sending them to the sheriff is all that's required locally.
  19. The Chinese don't need someone to "introduce" them. I used to travel international for the company I worked for, including China. Imagine my surprise when, at a trade show, I saw my company's products, reproduced, almost exactly, with cheaper components, and a different name on them. The housings and circuit boards were nearly identical. They seem to be very good at reverse engineering, without permission.
  20. If printing is a concern, I may carry my Kel Tec 3AT. It is more concealable. If it's everyday carry where I don't worry about printing it's the 642. Although the 3AT has been 99.9% reliable, the 642 has been 100%.
  21. I've been through several carry weapons, pocket, IWB, and OWB. I've pretty much settled on a S&W 642 in a DeSantis Super Fly for pocket carry most of the time. I tend to walk with my hands in my pockets anyway so it's as easy to come out with it as it is without it. And there's no doubt it will operate if it's needed.
  22. I wondered if anyone would get that. And that was from before your time.
  23. This reminds me of an Arlo Guthrie story that took place in Stockbridge Massachusetts. You need to look for an envelope at the bottom of that pile of trash.
  24. Excellent!
  25. In several transactions with Bud's, I've had zero problems. I've never had a need to call them.
