Another vote for Bellshire. I've bought from them twice ftf. Great people to deal with.

I must say, I'd never considered a 1911 for pocket carry. No pic here. My pockets are empty. I'm lounging around the house today while it's raining outside. I do have a 1911, a CRKT neck knife and a Case pocket knife on the table beside me.

I don't hate turkeys but they do leave little piles of turkey poo everywhere they go.

It sounds like this may not end well for all involved. Police investigate after deputy fires his gun

Have you planned for or completed the obligatory Wally Walk?

1911 under the bed, 642 in the nightstand, 500 pump beside the bed, motion detector lights in the house, not to mention the alarm system and two dogs. Someone is going to have a bad night. -
Another case of a gun discharging and killing someone. It says a male relative was handling the gun "when it discharged". It's always the gun's fault. Police: Woman fatally shot at Pa. gun shop - Yahoo! News

Apparently it wasn't very good quality camo or you wouldn't have been able to see it at all. And what better way to carry concealed than in a pouch that can't be seen?

I was a guest several times at a hunting camp in NC. About 20 members. Invitation only. The camp was on leased property. I suspect a long term type lease. The owner, a farmer, still had use of the land and did cultivate several sections of the camp area. The members built and maintained a cabin on the property. The members also maintained the gated access road and were very meticulous about respecting the land . I don't recall what the members paid each year but I think it was several hundred dollars. They had a "meeting" there every month where everyone brought food and beverages, spent the night, some around the campfire, some around the poker table. There was always plenty of target practice going on but no designated range. Just stick a target in a field and open up. The place had several bunk rooms. A really nice setup that I thought I was going to be invited to join. Then I divorced the members daughter. It would be great to find a group to go together on such a venture leasing or buying property. Form a "hunting club". the club owns the property. You pay an annual fee to belong to the club and use the property....for hunting, not a range. Of course, part of hunting is sighting in. I'd be in.

Thanks all for the advice and feedback. I may not be a frequent poster but I still spend some time here nearly every day. Hate for my browser to interfere with that. As I'm sure I must have heard some important and well known somebody once say...a day without TGO is like a day without coffee. Or something along those lines.

Ran through the updates from the earlier version and all is now well. Computers. I sometimes wish it were 1960 again.

I did try disabling all add-ons. Still didn't work. I get text and banners. Nothing else. I rolled it back to an earlier version of Firefox and now it's working. Now, to see what happens when I update.

I just updated to Firefox 6.0 and don't seen to be loading graphics properly. I've seen this with a couple other sites today as well so I don't think it's TGO related as much as Fire fox related. Anyone else seeing anything like this? I did try reloading it. No difference.

We've all been lied to. Some of us just recognize BS quicker than others. Some never recognize it.

This is not "my take" on the issue. I agree that the weapon is not at fault and I see no difference in a weapon used in a murder and one used in any other crime. This was purely a suggestion or solution that would have little impact on the overall number of weapons available for sale but would throw a crumb to those opposing the concept due to the emotional issue. It's called a compromise. I believe it's sometimes worth giving up a battle in order to win the war. It doesn't matter what law or rule is in place, someone will always be unhappy. If we can keep the unhappy to a minimum, a rule or law is more likely to stay in place.

It's sounding like those of you in Knoxville and Sevierville are probably closest to me (Hamblen County) of any of the posts I've seen. My concern is that a rendezvous point much more than 10 miles away may become a very difficult distance at TEOTWAWKI.

I understand this and you understand this but, certainly, anybody that has lost a loved one in a murder is going to experience emotional turmoil. The number of guns used in murders is, although I have no statistics at hand, likely well less than half of all guns confiscated. Destroy those used in a murder simply out of respect. It's to make those people feel better. Return stolen guns not used in a murder to the rightful owner. The rest fly under the radar to a sale. Most everybody's happy. What's the downside?

Has anyone ever found a Black Widow spider in their mailbox?
Motasyco replied to Will Carry's topic in General Chat
I had one drop on me while I was under my wife's vehicle not long ago. They're really more common than most people think. Many years ago I captured one and put it in a small clear plastic box and gave it to my son. He thought it was pretty cool and yes, he knew that he shouldn't try to handle it and why. It was so cool, he took it to school to show his buddies. That didn't turn out so well. He never let the Black Widow out of the box but the school administrators were not amused or impressed and expressed, to me, clearly, their displeasure. -
The F150 I wanted was $50,000 new. The one I bought had nearly all the same options. It had 30,000 miles on it, cost me less than half the cost of the new one, and hasn't given me a bit of trouble.

Who else is going to protect my home and family? Take a look around. Our world is not becoming a safer place and I can depend on nobody but myself.
