  1. I beg to differ. I have no smartphone, nor am I interested in having one. I also don't twit, do Myface, or Spacebook.
  2. Is there no end to the intrusions? Mandatory "Big Brother" Black Boxes In All New Cars From 2015 http://www.infowars.com/mandatory-big-brother-black-boxes-in-all-new-cars-from-2015/
  3. I got the call from Sam. I'll be stopping by tomorrow.
  4. Mike's Gun Shop in Morristown is supposed to call me when they get one in. Expected this week. After the obligatory fondling, price will determine if I buy now. Like with most things, the price comes down a bit after the new wears off and it's not a must have now. I must admit, M&P is my favorite flavor of plastic.
  5. That Garufa beat me to the draw again!
  6. Hmmm, I'm interested to see where this goes.
  7. If Tom Cruise was 10 ft tall, he'd still be a wuss, just a big wuss.
  8. Yes. Some of the stuff in there belongs to her.
  9. I have to admit, it did hurt a bit to imagine a farmer having to execute his baby pigs. I'm no PETA nut and I love pork but I do have a soft spot for animals.
  10. I did read that Lee Child, the author, thinks Hugh Jackman would be a good choice. I think Sean Bean also would be much better than Cruise.
  11. Dwayne Johnson was my first thought although he has had some corny roles that may have hurt his tough guy image. Jason Statham was the second to come to mind for me. A 30 year younger Clint Eastwood would be about right. I think I could kick Vin Diesel's butt.
  12. I'm a fan of the Jack Reacher novels written by Lee Child. There are occasional flaws but overall a good series. I have a vision of what Reacher looks like based on the books. He's 6'5", 250 pounds, ex-military. Your basic tough guy. I recently read that one of the books, One Shot, is being made into a movie. Good story, could be a good movie. There are probably a number of actors that could pull off the Reacher character. The actor chosen to play Reacher? Tom Cruise. Unbelievable. Tom Cruise is 5'7" and probably weighs in at 160 pounds. What are these people in Hollywood thinking? I'm disgusted and won't bother destroying my image of Reacher by watching this movie. The casting director should never cast another movie. Who would you have cast in the role?
  13. You would have every right to have the RV owner remove their vehicle from your parking lot. What legally owned property they have in their RV is none of your business regardless of your decision to allow them to stay there or not.
  14. My Marlin 60 story is much the same as Mike's. I bought it new around 1980 when I lived in Texas. I don't remember what I paid for it but I'm sure it was well under $100. Used off and on over the years. I've cleaned it a few times. Not as often as it deserved but more often than it seemed to need. It was instrumental in putting an end to the Great Raccoon Rebellion about 10 years ago. My kids learned to shoot with it. Certainly more rounds through it than any other gun I own. I've considered buying a 10/22 because of all the aftermarket goodies but I always come back to the fact that, although the 60 may not be as flashy, it does everything I expect from a stock rimfire and does it very well. It doesn't make me feel 19 again (darn) but it sure holds a lot of great memories. Thanks for the reminder Mike.
  15. Welcome!
  16. Thanks for the report. Pretty much what I expected. You saved me some gas.
  17. My observation is that the older you get, the more likely you are to say what is truly on your mind. It gets me in trouble all the time...but it sure is satisfying.
  18. Makes me feel like doing some house cleaning.
  19. It depends on where I'm going and what I'm wearing. Very concealed - KelTec 3AT in the pocket. Somewhat concealed - S&W 642 in the pocket. I don't care if you see it - S&W M&P .40 or a 1911 OWB. Often a combination of two and probably along with a Spyderco Tenacious and a CRKT neck knife.
  20. I'm considering going. The last few gun shows I've attended have turned me off a bit. An hour drive to fight a crowd to look at merchandise at retail prices just doesn't crank me up. But I do have a list.....
  21. Started watching it on VOD a couple weeks ago. I'm about 5 episodes into it. It's pretty good and I'm looking forward to seeing more but it doesn't have me as hooked as Justified and S.O.A.
  22. If you are wandering in the woods in east Tennessee, about halfway between Knoxville and Kingsport, you can run into the remains of the cabin from the "Evil Dead" movie. Dr. Google can help you find it by typing in "evil dead cabin".
  23. Emails sent to my legislators, Sen. Steve Southerland and Rep Don Miller. Get involved folks. BTT.
  24. It takes a real man to carry a pink gun. I'm sure it would add to the humiliation factor to be shot by one too. Having said that, I may put the pink grips back on my 642.
  25. My S12 will cycle the cheap low brass Wally stuff. I wouldn't count on it for self defense but for just going out and blowing off steam, this made a difference: http://store.carolinashooterssupply.com/servlet/-strse-204/saiga-reduced-power-recoil/Detail Just swap it back out for the original if you go back to 3". It only takes a minute to change. And it''s cheap!
