Thinking about Starting up my own Members Only Shooting Range
Motasyco replied to PackinMama's topic in General Chat
As is all too often the case these days, red tape trumps good intentions. -
I like my pizza high capacity and fully loaded.

I'm not familiar with her music and didn't know who she was but the story has been on my mind all morning because of the dog she murdered. If you want to do yourself in, fine, that's your choice. Taking someone with you, even a dog, is disturbing.

I live and work in Morristown. There is a metal scrap yard on the south side of town. There are occasional explosions heard from there. I was told it's usually a vehicle gas tank or propane tanks in their machinery used to shred and compact the metal. I have heard a couple of explosions from there this week including a pretty loud one. I was probably a half mile or more from the scrap yard when one explosion was large enough that the concussion was significant. I can't say for sure but would suspect this may be what was heard and felt. I do the tannerite thing over in Grainger county.

Nice clocks! I'm not a clock collector but I do have an appreciation for things older than me. Thanks for posting.

How to open a can, without tools
Motasyco replied to Handsome Rob's topic in Survival and Preparedness
Interesting but he did use a tool, a knife. I've opened plenty of cans with knife and nothing else. A good nugget of information to tuck away though. Thanks. -
That's good news. These are good folks to deal with.

They still have some listings on Gunbroker. It looks like they all have less than 14 hours to go.

86-year-old Woman w/ BB Gun Charged
Motasyco replied to Oh Shoot's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I don't suppose that BB gun is very accurate when firing BBs down a 46 caliber barrel. -
Huge amount of truth in that cartoon.

I have a 22A and I also have a Buckmark. Both perform well with any ammo. I couldn't say one is any more reliable than the other. Both have had thousands of rounds through them without any problems and I usually shoot both when I go to the range. I am more consistantly accurate with the 22A. I think the 22A is a better buy but I like both of them.

They did this a couple of years ago. -
1911 and a land line. Both old school.

What do pocket holsters do you use?
Motasyco replied to Jon in TN's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Desantis Nemesis and Desantis Superfly. -
I'm not buying any but I'd drink it if someone set a glass in front of me. After all, I've eaten rocky mountain oysters and survived.

I thought this was great so I looked it up on Amazon. The customer review at the bottom of the page is the most entertaining customer review I've ever read.

"You cannot invade the mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass." is a quote attributed to Isoroku Yamamoto, Commander-in-Chief of the Imperial Japanese Navy during World War II. Of course it was originally stated in Japanese.

I've decided there are times when carrying in a shoulder holster may be an advantage. Specifically, when working outdoors. Open carry is not a concern here, I'm interested more in comfort and not having my gun constantly pulling my pants down. Primary carry in this holster would be a full size M&P or 1911. In looking at shoulder rigs, I see two different styles, vertical and horizontal. What is your preference and why? Or, why would a shoulder holster not be suitable for this use. Recommendations on specific gear is welcomed as well. Thanks for your input.

I placed an order with S.O.G. on 19 December. After ordering I received a call that a couple of items I'd ordered were now out of stock. They're expected in later this week. They asked if I wanted them to split the order or wait for everything to be shipped at one time. In order to save a bit on shipping, I said send it all when it's all available. I just checked my order status on their site and the only amount additional to the original price was the 3% they add for a cc purchase plus they have calculated and added the shipping cost. The items still haven't shipped but I didn't expect it to be shipped yet. So far, everything seems as it should and as I've experienced with past orders form them. No unexplained increases. I'll be keeping an eye on it. I still have the original email confirmation with the original prices if I need it for reference. I had also placed an order with Midway around the same day. When checking my order status I did see that they had listed prices higher than when I ordered but they had put a line through the higher prices and charged the price of the items to as they were when I ordered. Thanks for the heads up. I'll be paying attention.

That video made my shoulder hurt.
