Channel 5 Nashville Story To Air Thursday
~48_South~ replied to Jimbo100's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Drop a modified lightning link in one of those Bad News AR's chambered in 338 Lapua Mag and then I guess you might be able to say high powered assault rifle. -
I would go with the 35, that being said I tend to be somewhat of a Glock fan. In the end it really depends on what you plan to do with the firearm how much shooting what kind of shooting etc.
-
Its always cheaper for me to buy online it seems.

Im a pretty big Glock fan when it comes to using a handgun for defense, there are other handguns I like as well HK,CZ,Sig and the like but I still end up finding the Glock to be my go to handgun. I thought it was rather funny my friend just went out last weekend and spent over 1k on a new Sig 226 MK25 and while we were running drills the magazine kept falling out,the slide would never stay back after the magazine was empty(With both factory and aftermarket mags),had a few light primer strikes, and then theres me with $600 Glock 34 not a single problem the whole time, the ironic thing is he sold his Glock to buy a more expensive Sig that doesnt work properly. Attached a funny video below,Im sure some of you have already seen it.

Four Tennessee men face charges in gun sales

Ok now whats the difference between someone selling or trading firearms in a private sale and trading them in or selling them to a gunshop? Feds get their cut from deals with a shop, and if so is that all there is? -

Having a set number written in the law is the only way its even remotely fair, how is one suppose to know if they are breaking a law when there is nothing set in stone on how you actually go about violating it, to me its about the same as if there were no official speed limits and cops just made them up as they went day by day. -
Google Censors All Gun, Ammo and Accessory Results
~48_South~ replied to mcurrier's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Wow thats crazy, just did a search and it brought no results. This is really going to suck when it comes to shopping for ammo, I use to go on google shopping to compare prices before making a purchase. Well looks like its time for me to start using Bing. -
I wasnt able to find one for $300-$350 after looking on gunbroker Im going to say the one at buds isnt a bad deal. For that small of a price difference I would rather go ahead and just buy the gun new than wait forever for a used one to show up. There was a vendor on this site at one time offering $10 transfers for TGO members, dont remember who they were or if they still offer that, but most shops transfer fees are $20-$25 + $10BG.

I like Glocks better but you cant go wrong picking the M&P great guns, good choice.

Beautiful gun, makes me wish I could shoot well with 1911's.

There is a reason tons of people use the 34 in competition, one of those reasons imo is there is no better gun for the money.

I kid you not I have bought 2 Bushmasters in my life, both brand new, and both didnt work properly when I got home. My first Bushmaster was an AR15 it malfunctioned on round 29 and had to be sent off for repairs, after that I swore Bushmaster off for years but recently decided to give them another shot so I bought a Enhanced ACR, the ACR had to be sent back immediately due to malfunctions as well. Maybe Im just cursed when it comes to Bushmaster idk.
-
Im surprised that this happened, I know tons of people who have been hit by bullet fragments or the whole round itself from ricochet while shooting steel and the worst I have ever seen is a nice cut and thats with everything from handguns to 5.56. If you had told me this happened with anything from 9mm to 45acp I would be shocked much less a 380. I would love to have more info about this, see the target, the distance it was shot from, the type of ammo used, the angle he shot it at,all of that good stuff.

Looking Good,GREAT JOB

Actually my Glocks seem to do quite well in the sand, wet sand that is and yes sand can be found in TN. I dont just throw my guns in a safe and take pictures of them time to time I run them very hard and am somewhat abusive with some, I find it extremely interesting to see what certain weapons can handle over others. I train, not paper punch so on hot days like those in the last week or so I get extremely hot,in between drills I jump in the river where I have my range built and whatever handgun is on my hip goes in with me its nothing but a sand bottom and after rolling around cooling off for a bit I hop out and immediately go back to running drills and my Glocks have functioned above and beyond soaking wet and full of grit and sand,I cannot say the same for my HK USP Tac or my $1,800 HK MARK23. I would run a Beretta side by side with my Glocks but I sold them all after I realized they were extremely finicky with ammo(Atleast my 96 Inox was),and I honestly dont know anyone else personally who owns one, much less someone who would let me run it through some muck. While I will agree with you that semi auto handguns dont play well in sand, there are definitely those that play better than others.
-
Everyone of my friends that played in the Sandbox hate the Beretta with a passion(And I dont mean just 2 people, more along 15 or so),they cant seem to say enough bad things about their performance over there, that being said they all have have a couple of Glocks. I personally have had a really nice 96 and a couple of 92's and I prefer Glock in a major way for my self defense handgun, my Beretta 96 is the only gun I have had where the slide completely locked up and could not be racked after firing no matter what you did to it, I actually had to take it to a armorer to get it repaired. Bottom line if you want a real world weapon that has an outstanding reputation for reliability and getting the job done go Glock, if you want a piece of eye candy to just show to your friends keep the Beretta.

What you have to be talking about is the forward momentum the muzzle brake produces to reduce recoil, that being said I dont think the scar is abusive at all, I mean sure you cant throw a $30 Simmons on it and expect it to hold up well, but then again its a $3,000 rifle so most who own it should also have funds for decent glass,or dont mind saving up to get good glass. Typical scopes are designed for rearward recoil only, not the forward/rearward jerking motion of rifles with good muzzle brakes, however I typically dont hear of real problems until you run into bigger Magnum rounds say 300WM and up. I run a Aimpoint Comp ML3 with a Aimpoint 3x magnifier on my 17, the rifle is a battle rifle so that set up does fine for ranges I intend to use the rifle for, 300-400 yards is all I would ever stretch it out to,anything else I will use my 308 or 338LM bolt guns. Just because the round is capable of performing well at more extreme ranges doesnt mean the gun is.
-
Maybe they mean 45acp,though I wouldnt think it would penetrate better than a 9mm due to its larger diameter and slower velocity.
-
Im sure its not bad at all with the brake, not to mention its semi auto and weighs in at over 9lbs. My 338 Lapua Mag is like 10.5lbs(Minus Glass) and its a joy to shoot, well if the ammo wasnt over $5 a round it would be.
-
Yep thats what I was talking about, I have seen a few without the deflector not sure who made them maybe dpms.
-
I shoot lefty and have only had one left handed gun in my life.AR,AK,FAL,Mini 14,ACR,SCAR,SWD M11/9 SMG,and Several M1A'S(Which even say in the manual not to shoot lefty) have all been right handed and I have never had any gas blowback or any problems with getting hit in the face with casings,so as far as your shooting experience go's with a righty you should be perfectly fine. That being said I have never shot one of the "Sport" AR's without forward assist and missing the case deflector so it might be a different story there.
-
All of mine run single hooks, you wouldnt believe the difference they make, trigger pull is probably 3.5 to 4lbs with them, feels about like my Timney in my AR but the G2 has a tiny bit of pre travel.
