Ive heard nothing but good about the CheyTac other than the price tag on their weapons and I pick the M200 intervention more based on the ballastics of the round it shoots rather than the firearm itself. The 408 has double the energy of a 338 Lapua and unlike the 50 BMG the with the 408 you dont have to sacrifice accuracy to obtain extreme energy.

(M-4's) Weapons failed US troops during Afghan firefight
~48_South~ replied to TMMT's topic in Long Guns
Yeah but sometimes they dont really need updates I mean look at the AK 47 who's design is going on 63 years old and it seems to be an excellent battle weapon when compared to the M16 and all of the updated variants. -

Ashland City ADA not NFA friendly

Its my understanding that in Tennessee the CLEO has 15 days to find reason why the person cannot own the firearm, suppressor, or device that they are trying to get and after the 15 days they are required to sign. -
Well actually they are however they arent the transferrable full auto AK 47's they are either semi's or home made full autos. There is still quite a few of transferrable AK 47's on the market and yes they do cost alot of money you could probably find a transferrable AK 47 for around 10k if the person is really trying to get rid of it but as stated above they tend to run about 13-15k and Krinkovs are going for about 18-20k. Also all legal guns that are registered as Machine guns are always classified as Machine guns even if you found a way to turn a registered FA AK 47 into a single shot bolt action if it was ever a machine gun thats the classification it will always stay in.

Yeah next to calling the ATF and actually asking them I have no clue Ive asked alot of people and most seem to think its legal however there are quite a few that think that the ATF can kinda make up rules as they go and its not worth the risk. -

AK 47 is the only way to go it fits the bill for everything you are looking for,75 round and 100 round drums enough said(also a endless list of aftermarket accessories).
-
Lol is this still over their customer service in the civilian market or are they starting to have problems with their guns? I own 4 HK's USP Tactical 45,USP Compact 45 Stainless,USP Compact 9mm and the P2000 in 40 s&w and love them all especially my Tactical its one of the most accurate handguns I have next to the CZ 75 Tactical Sport.

Ofcourse back then a Thompson cost as much as a brand new Ford car $200 which is about the same they go for now $18-20k so be sure not to leave your wallet at home when you go back in time or you might have a problem coming up with the money lol.

FNP-9 bought the gun took it down to the range then traded it in on something else about 15 mins after I bought it.I just did not like the gun and didnt think it was very accurate. Beretta Ninety Two bought it took it down to the range didnt think it was accurate at all or nothing close to how well I shoot with my 96. I havent ran across an SKS that I havent wanted to smash against a tree due to how complex inserting a mag has to be. I hate all of the Polymer Baby Eagles they just dont have a good feel to me. I also dont like Hi-Points way to heavy and cheap,Jennings cheap,Lorcin cheap, pheonix cheap.

Let's talk suppressors.
~48_South~ replied to Capbyrd's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
Well for the 22 I would probably go with the Bowers Paradigm suppressor I imagine its about the cheapest you are gonna find and it seems easy to maintain the suggested retail price on it is $395 but Im sure you can get it cheaper. AS far as AR15's go alot of people seem to like the Surefire FA556-212 they say this suppressor can take alot of abuse and still do its job. As far as quiet goes alot of people say good things about SRT suppressors and seem to like them fro AR15's I dont own nor have I shot either one but thats just what I have read. -
Man arrested for constructive possesion
~48_South~ replied to ~48_South~'s topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
Ok I did find out that he got arrested for violating a Florida State law and more than likely the Feds arent gonna pick up the case due to the nature of it even though technically they could I dont think they are interested in wasting tax payer money on something that is such an easy mistake for people to make at the moment. So if he is charged under state law I imagine he will get around 5 years more than likely on probation but he will be a felon from now on. Florida law states: 790.221 Possession of short-barreled rifle, short-barreled shotgun, or machine gun; penalty.–– (1) It is unlawful for any person to own or to have in his or her care, custody, possession, or control any short-barreled rifle, short-barreled shotgun, or machine gun which is, or may readily be made, operable; but this section shall not apply to antique firearms. The picture he posted and his own comments show that an SBR can be "or may readily be made, operable" in a matter of seconds. Thus he meets the exact definition of the law. The Fed Definition is not as favorable (for Prosecution) as the FL definition: (8) The term ``short-barreled rifle'' means a rifle having one or more barrels less than sixteen inches in length and any weapon made from a rifle (whether by alteration, modification, or otherwise) if such weapon, as modified, has an overall length of less than twenty-six inches. However the Federal Case law is much more favorable. Lots of folks have been convicted (and convictions upheld on appeal), for similar situations. Generally Feds no longer have to prove Constructive Possession anymore, Case Law or changes to the law in recent years, now covers anything they would have to prove. -

No thats legal as long as there is a proper(legal) host weapon for the grip you are good to go just as long as its not attached to the pistol. -

~48_South~ replied to ~48_South~'s topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
Are you sure it has to be rigid? I have looked everywhere and can not find the ATF's definition of a grip and the guys on uzi talk are about 50/50 on it being legal/illegal. The only mac I own is a m11-9 smg so it doesnt affect me either way. However it would not suprise me to see someone get arrested for having a front strap seeing as how its used as a forward grip. -
If I were you I would buy a Krink that is already built no need to go through the trouble of building your own unless you have specific parts you are wanting to use. Now there are a couple ways to do this both ways will require you to locate a class 3 dealer near your area, after you have that out of the way start looking for a gun now you can find Krinks that are registered as pistols and then you have Krinks that are already SBR's. If you buy the pistol you get to take it hom and play with it until your paperwork comes back from the BATF if you buy one that is already an SBR then you are gonna have to wait it out before you can play with it. I would buy one online and just have it transferred to the class 3 dealer of your choice its a pretty easy process the dealer will also help get you started with your paperwork and tell you all the steps you need to copmplete before sending everything in to the BATF.

Yeah you can find a bunch of illegal firearms on the gun auction sites I even warned one guy and he acted like Im crazy and still has the gun listed its a open bolt mac semi auto with a front strap on it. -
This is a pretty wild story its crazy some of the laws that are out there that most of us dont seem to know about however I think anyone that has any class 3's or that is planning on getting into class 3's should read this story this guys life is more than likely ruined over a very simple mistake.
