DOJ rules that bump stocks ARE machineguns
MacGyver replied to Chucktshoes's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
There won’t be a buyback. They’ll give a date by which they’re to be turned in or destroyed, after which possession will be prosecuted as a felony. Compliance will likely be similar to Connecticut’s ban on assault weapons. Maybe a little higher - but still low double digits. I’d expect the feds will gather as many sales records as they can. They’ve likely already issued document preservation orders. Many of the companies - who are looking to avoid liability or who find themselves in receivership after bankruptcy will willingly comply. There are certainly paths to persue legal remedies to all of the above, but it’ll take deep pockets. And, since the NRA has already abandoned this issue, you’d risk financial ruin fighting it. Pay attention. This won’t be the last you see of this. -

A lower priced Leupold would be my choice as well. -
Report: The Obamas are set to become a billion-dollar mega-brand

Elections do have consequences... Don’t screw it up to bad, and being an ex-President is usually a pretty good deal. Even Nixon made decent money in his later years. -
Huh. I don’t know that I ever noticed. I guess Barney only gets one bullet, but Andy goes loaded for bear. It’s been a lot of years, but I don’t ever recall seeing him with a long gun in any of the episodes.

Truth. Empire is hard. So is math. The political reality of 2018 is that if you’re going to keep the lights on and the toilets flushing, both parties are really constrained in what they can actually hope to do. And, that’s even further constrained by what they can pass - even when they’ve got their hands on all the levers of power as the GOP recently has. The American path - in this late stage capitalism is largely determined. Either party can deviate maybe a couple of degrees in either direction. But, you’re staying on the path. Rhetoric is easy though - and it works. I’d love to see the average American really figure out that the political class at large - not simply the other party is just feeding them rhetoric to keep them punching down and focused elsewhere while they continue to loot the place. -
Criterion spun out of Kreiger, so for the most part you’re probably okay in terms of quality. For the cost difference, I don’t know that I’d stress too much about it either way.

Let’s just hope Trump’s narcissism doesn’t have him start considering an easy “deal” with the Democratic House. -
Most effective 30-30 ammo for deer?
MacGyver replied to maroonandwhite's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I thought LEVERevolution ammo was designed with the polymer tip so you’d feel better about stuffing it in a tubular magazine? That’s what I’ve always used it for anyway. -

Looks like I might stock up a little. $4.97/box is hard to beat. -

All of them. I've always had great results with 150gr Remington Core-Lokt and Federal Power Shok. -
Oh, I’m sorry to hear this, Greg. I truly believe that God shows his love for us through the devotion our dogs show us. There’s no other creature on the planet that’s as capable of loving unconditionally like a dog.

On the eleventh month, of the eleventh day, at the eleventh hour...
MacGyver replied to A.J. Holst's topic in General Chat
To the French and English especially, but certainly other European countries, WWI is the Great War. The US didn’t get involved until late. But, the French lost more than 1.5 million. The UK, over a million. The French literally lost a generation of men. Thats why these ceremonies still carry such weight. That weighs on families for a long time. -

It’s encouraging to see someone who remembers playing in a garage - and who still looks out in wonder at a sold out stadium show. -

Dave Grohl is a treasure, and I think just an all around good human being. -

Sgt. Leo Stokley, USMC - Vietnam is an unclaimed veteran, with no known family. Stokely lived in Murfreesboro, and died last weekend. He is set to be buried at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Pegram tomorrow, Friday morning at 10. I understand the Patriot Guard Riders are trying to get a crew together to stand in for family. But, if you’re in the area tomorrow, the Veteran’s Cemetery is a beautiful place - and all our Vietnam vets ought to have someone remember them.

$119.99 Mosin with pictures!
MacGyver replied to ironsniper1's topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
I’m starting to think someone should’ve paid you $119.99 to take this thing. I love a good project, but you may wind up with the most expensive Mosin Nagant in history by the time you’re done. -
He's gonna get in trouble if he tries to add yet another safe to the mix.

Welcome to Tennessee. In the words of the immortal Lewis Grizzard, "Come on down here. Breathe our air. Eat our food. Marry our women. There's just one thing we ask of you - don't tell us how you used to do it back in Brooklyn."

I use the nylon coated gun hangers like mentioned above. I've never had any issue - and they seem to do exactly what I want.

Likewise, if you’re ever passing through Nashville and just want a break, I’m always good for lunch.

Does this happen on any regular frequency?

Dang it. I wish I’d known this yesterday. I’d have rearranged some stuff and come down there.
