I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how good the new Prince’s On Nolensville is. SWJewell and I were there a month or so back - and it was packed for the better part of three hours. They’ve got plenty of seating, and plenty of parking which is underrated and you’ll totally understand once you go to Hattie B’s. Hattie B’s is a great entry point into hot chicken because their sides really make the meal. But they are always crowded. Always. If you go to the one on eighth, and it’s crowded, just do yourself a favor and go to Bolton‘s Hot C hicken and Fish across the street. Their hot fish sandwich is great. Frankly, I’d skip Lower Broadway at large unless you’re going to some particular event. There’s all kinds of great stuff to do without getting wound up in all of that. The Country Music Hall of Fame is great even if you’re not a consumer of country music.

Yeah, he’s doing well.

I run into them when I’m running at the back of my neighborhood every morning. Despite the fact that there are dozens of them, my Brentwood neighbors would likely be terribly offended if I shot one.

DNA Links Suspect in 1999 Alabama Cold Case Murder
MacGyver replied to volshayes's topic in General Chat
They don’t care the first thing in the world about helping law enforcement, really. They’re not paying customers. Selling access to that data to big pharma on there other hand is quite profitable. -
I bet it’s actually a pretty sweet shooter. Rarely do you see actual stainless frames. Charter Arms has always produced a dependable, value priced revolver. They’re not light, but that steel soaks up recoil pretty well. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend one. I’ve known many a tackle boxes that have held old .38 Bulldogs with the round or two loaded for moccasins.

No subpoena needed. Amateurs are breaking a lot of cases from their kitchens right now. -

There are a fair number of ethical issues here, but genetic genealogy is breaking a bunch of cold cases right now. The Golden State Killer, the Bear Brook murders (good, short podcast if you’re interested), among others. About 80% of the US has at least multiple third cousins in publicly available datasets now. And yes, just like with Facebook, the 23 and Me’s of the world are profiting off of your data. You’re not the customer. You’re the product. -
You’ve got it, Doug.

Figure they were trying to get a discount on a legacy admission. At most of the schools in question, it would take at least $10M to put your name on a building these days. That’s a high price to pay when you can just bribe someone instead.

I like that!

I’ve not talked to him lately, but I’ll reach out to him.

whats with all the overpriced glock kits these days?
MacGyver replied to Magiccarpetrides's topic in Handguns
People will spend more if you’ll just give them a path to do it. -
Man we shot a metric ton of this stuff back in the day... If you shoot it - make sure you clean in short order.

They work great.

Yes, that’s generally correct. -

Most modern emissions testing places have advanced enough equipment to see if you’ve just cleared he codes. You’re supposed to complete a full drive cycle before they’ll pass you - at least in Nashville. I’m not sure that Greg is in a county that needs it for emissions. They’re helpful for general repair work, though. Here’s a similar one to the one I got recently: https://www.amazon.com/OBD2-OBDII-Bluetooth-Diagnostic-Scanner/dp/B01HXGX8V6/ref=asc_df_B01HXGX8V6/?tag=&linkCode=df0&hvadid=312177448019&hvpos=1o7&hvnetw=g&hvrand=17061142339596273251&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9013192&hvtargid=pla-570352764845&psc=1&ref=&adgrpid=61495038909&th=1 -
How many of you have ACTUALLY been hog hunting?

I think I'm lucky. Whether or not I pull the trigger - I equally enjoy just wandering around the woods whether it be for a few hours or a few days. -

I’ve got one of the older one and a newer one that you can just leave plugged in all the time. It hooks to an app on your phone and connects via Bluetooth. It was maybe $7 on Amazon. If I was in the market today, that’s the route I’d go again. -

I always tell folks that if I’m ever framed for a crime I didn’t commit, I’m heading to South Georgia to the swamp. Doesn’t matter who knows. No one is coming in after me. -
I bet they wish that sheriff’s department hadn’t posted those pictures to social media...

I like shooting 300BLK suppressed - but when hunting I still run 110gr TTSX supers most of the time. The suppressor quiets them down some. Its just a good performer in the field. -

I don’t think I’d necessarily be against a preserve - if they had a nice lodge and a good chef... I’ve just never had reason to do it. Just not really my thing, I guess. -

Most of my time on hogs is in the swamps and bottomlands of South Georgia. I’ve got family down there, so it’s convenient. I’ve been treed by one down there. But, I wasn’t hunting at the time. Me and a friend just happened to be pumping water at a spring when some piglets came out of the underbrush. Mama was not pleased. These days I enjoy chasing them around Black Warrior and a couple other spots in northern Alabama. It’s just closer than Valdosta. I usually run a 45-70 - because that’s what I pretty much shoot everything in the South with these days. But, there’s no telling how many I’ve taken with an old model 94 in 30-30. I’ve taken some with 5.56. I’ve taken one with a 500gr .458 SOCOM round just to see - and it made a real mess. It’s an unpopular opinion these days - but I’ve shot a bunch of pigs that I knew were headed for the freezer in the neck with a .22 WMR. They’re not particularly hard to kill. But, like you I’d hunt hogs 100% of the time over deer or pretty much anything else here in the South. -
Hybrid water heaters, are they worth the extra $$$
MacGyver replied to gomer pyle's topic in General Chat
I’m not sure. It probably varies by maker. The pumps are pretty inexpensive.
